This one was slow for me, but still engaging. What is up with the creepy Dr.? I am sure Jason Isaacs is up to no good at all. They said she was gone 7 years?

Wow! Ok, I didn't know what to expect when I saw this, but it is intriguing. The main character is so good! Steve needs to grow up a little, he's a punk. I can't wait to see the rest, good thing I have plenty of free time, between this and The man in the High Castle starting today, I will be very busy. Can't wait to find out what the OA really means.

S01.E03: The Bridge
Arynm replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
I got The Bridge and boy was it full of information!! I loved how much they delved into the minutia of the Church and what they do. The chart was crazy, and Leah said she got to Grade 2 and couldn't do any of the things it said she could. I mean, Tom Cruise should be able to move things with his mind and cure cancer at his level. So much bullshit.- 138 replies

I watched and loved the new format! It seems more edgy and fresh. Tyra had to make an appearance of course and there was a lot of girl drama, but I liked the look of the girls picked. The drama of transgender? Kyle and Starr was cut short when Starr didn't get in, so thank God for that. The German designer was suitably nasty and terrible to all the girls and he made me happy. I can not wait for makeovers!! I hope they keep that episode intact. I am in for the season

I am adopted. I was a legal adoption in the mid 70s in Tennessee. My parents always told me that I was adopted so I count myself lucky that I didn't have to find out in some convoluted way. My mother told me that she had to wait an entire year before the adoption was complete. That meant that for an entire year, my birth mother could change her mind and take me back. A year. I can't even imagine how stressful and scary that was for my mom. She also said that she had to swear in front of a court that she would raise me as a Christian (we are Jewish). She did it and would have sworn to just about anything for me. Its a true gift that she gave me and while I would like to meet my birth parents at some point, It doesn't, and had never, taken up my entire life like it did Randall. I can understand what Rebecca did, but I think she made a short sighted decision based on fear not on the well being of her son. She knew William was clean and stable and only he wanted the best for Randall. Olivia can go to hell, I can't believe that she even went to the cabin let alone dropped her "truth" on Kate like that, nevermind it was right. Mind your business lady, we don't know you.

Loved every second!! I was a geeked out mess when they all got together, I might have teared up. Loved Mick calling her "Skirt" because Supergirl was dumb. Barry needs to get yelled at a little by the team, especially about baby Sarah. I'm glad they all pulled together at the end behind him. Can't wait for night 3

Everything I know about history I learned about because of that song. If I didn't already know it I looked it up when the song came out. Thanks Billy Joel!

So Eden was in constant pain due to a gall bladder surgery that went wrong and he suffered for the rest of his life. I too, have suffered from gall bladder attacks until I had mine removed so I know how painful they are. Luckily my surgeon didn't mess up and sever my bile duct, that just sounds terrible. I did have to spend 10 days in the hospital so I really feel for him. That article pretty much puts the blame on his terrible Suez canal decision squarely on the drugs he was prescribed and his addiction to them. It is really too bad

I liked that this episode introduced Katherine Johnson who, until I heard about the movie Hidden Figures, I had never ever heard of. I like to think that I have a pretty good working knowledge of the space program even though I was born in the 70's and she was new to me. I hope that people watch this show and learn a little more about her. Maybe even see the movie. Of course Flynn just waltzes in and saves his brother. Easy as pie. He has a different set of rules than the others. I don't know how Anthony is there, don't tell me he was born after 1969. Just not possible. So he was either born in the future, which doesn't seen possible, or they just need to stay away from places where they were in the past. Should be easy to go back and save the wife then right? The sister is a little more difficult.

well that explains a lot. Thanks. I thought he was the one up in arms about the show, but I must have been mistaken

I saw a very short something about Stanley Kubricks daughter stepping in to help her. She has set up a go fund me account http://www.eonline.com/news/810612/shelley-duvall-gets-help-vivian-kubrick-sets-up-gofundme-page-after-dr-phil-interview I have to ask, has she (Shelly) burned her bridges or something? Where are all the Hollywood people? Where is Stanley Kubrick after the stink he made about the show? Why is it his daughter that is trying to do something and not him? I don't get it.

I watched as well. She needs a lot of help and I don't know what Phil thought he was going to accomplish taking her across the country. She will be much better off getting help closer to home. I would like to see her boyfriend as well. I feel terrible for her and I hope she can get some real help. It sounded like she has struggled with her mental health for years, didn't she mention that some director wanted to have her see a psychiatrist during filming?

Loved Holt getting upset and popping the balloons one by one. His face was great! Of course she would have loved the arch. Also loved the champers and peach nectar bit. Everyone gets drunk at the wedding!

S01.E07: The Best Washing Machine in the World
Arynm replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in This Is Us
I can see Kevins issue this episode. He had one thing that he was good at and that his parents came to see only him and in his eyes Randall took that from him. Football was Kevins thing. From Randalls point of view he was trying to do something that Kevin liked so that maybe they would have something to do together. I don't think Randall was trying to take the spotlight off Kevin by playing football. That's my take on it anyway- 337 replies

I love when Bev cusses. Makes me laugh every time. I also love whenever I see Pops with his martini (which is all the time) The destruction of her sweaters was very funny the first time, the second was a bit of overkill, they knew what they were doing. I also wanted a sweater dress, or to just shop in Benetton, but it was Uptons for us. I did get a wonderful/terrible sweater for Christmas from Benetton one year. That thing lasted forever, I could probably still wear it. I should have kept it, it will be coming back into fashion any day now.

S03.E11: The Inherent, Unsullied Qualitative Value of Anything
Arynm replied to Tara Ariano's topic in You're The Worst [V]
dang! I was expecting a light fluffy episode and then, wham!! Those things they said were a lot deeper than either was expecting I think. Not sure they can come back from that. Not really the right way to tell Paul you had an abortion and are leaving him Lindsey. I am going to need her to smarten up, she is getting tired. -
I had never heard of the fog either so off I went to google to learn a little more! Apparently the fog settled on the roads and walkways and buildings and made even walking dangerous. It formed a slippery coating that acted kind of like a skating rink and had people sliding around on it. It was said that when people came in from outside they looked like coal workers because their faces were black. I can't even imagine what those days must have been like. The internet said that it happened a few more times but never as bad.

She took the more senior one named Michael. Elizabeth comes off as a bit wishy washy at times, I hope it's just temporary as she gets her footing.

Was Prime Minister Eden a morphine addict? I googled but didn't find anything. They are certainly portraying him as such so I wonder? That would have made the news. Or maybe not, the UK had different rules I think than the US about the freedom of press.

Poor Margaret! Must suck to have so much interference into something so personal as who you love/marry. I guess she could have gone away and married him, but she would have given up everything including her family. Even the Duke of Windsor got a title and an allowance. I believe she does marry, but it didn't go well and she eventually divorced. She deserved better from her sister I think. It would not have brought down the monarchy to have he marry him.
-
the Duke of Windsor had a very high opinion of himself didn't he. He has a lot of nerve thinking they are greedy and grasping, when he is the one sponging off the relatives. I actually thought Cookie was a cute nickname until he explained why they called her that. I looked it up and his measly 10,000 pound allowance is about 1 million pounds today. Poor thing!! However could they manage on such a pittance? I do find some consolation in the fact that letters found relatively recently show that Wallis wasn't nearly as fond of him as he was of her, she mostly looked at the marriage as a job,and a tiring babysitting type job at that. I think David did the entire world a favor when he abdicated, even though I agree with the ladies in that he most likely hastened the death of George VI. Poor man

Elizabeth is never shown interacting with the kids at all after she is queen, which is most likely accurate. She seems to be a pretty hands off mother. She is shown looking wistfully out the window at them quite a bit, but is never actually with them. Prince Philip is shown playing with them a bit. I would guess thats pretty accurate, but I have no idea really.
-
They are still smaller than her, I would have pushed them down and ran like hell!! I did like that the kids were outside as well, so they could get her even if she did run. Could have worked I guess, sheer numbers and all that. This show is very slow, but I am hanging on. The teacher must be in charge

I loved how they showed how the dynamics had changed literally one minute from the next. Elizabeth was curtsying to them earlier in the episode, now it had completely switched. What Elizabeth must have been thinking! So many rules to remember and follow. The king broke my heart, I cried when he died, what a tremendous acting job. Emmys all around!

Maybe Lee killed her husband and someone else got him up there. The nurses killed Rory but the Polks hung him up right?
