Speculation for Season Two of Feud: NOT Charles and Diana
Arynm replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Feud [V]
I have read in a few different places that Charles does nothing himself. He doesn't even put toothpaste on his toothbrush. This is the stuff I like to see, the minutia behind what we are allowed to see. I also demand to see the jewels and clothes and palaces! There has to be a vault full of massive amounts of tiaras and jewels that I can only dream of. All i can think of is that scene in The Princess Diaries where they go into the closet and there are drawers full of jewelry. Make that10x larger and it would be overwhelming. I would give my firstborn(maybe) to work there, cataloging and fangirling over the jewels. Call me Queen Elizabeth! I am your girl for the job I also think there is much drama to be mined from a Hedda Hooper/Louann Parsons season. These ladies were there from the silent films all the way to the McCarthy Era and beyond I believe. They were ruthless, and I am sure there is a wealth of info out there, including their own articles to pull from. Someone really should be working on this. -

Shades of Wallis and David/Edward right there. Except of course that one day, Camilla will be Queen. -
Speculation for Season Two of Feud: NOT Charles and Diana

I hope the story we get is of the warts and all variety. I am tired of Diana being perfect and Charles being a cad who cheated and lied. They both were to blame for how the marriage turned out. She gave as good as she got and I would like to see that. I still have the knee jerk reaction of hatred for Camilla, even though I know she doesn't really deserve it. It's too bad they couldn't marry, you can tell they have always loved each other. -
Hollywood History: The Real-Life "Feud" and More

That picture above with the Dachshunds is the first I have seen that bridges the gap for me of young Joan and old Joan. They looked so diametrically different I could not reconcile the two. Thanks for that! I love young Joan, her movies of the 30's and early 40's are some of my favorites along with Kay Francis. When I watch her movies I never see the old, hard bitter Joan that is usually portrayed now. It is sad because she was so much more than Mommie Dearest and unfortunately she has been reduced to that now. It is also sad that she felt she had to do the things she did to stay relevant. -
Scientology: Miscavige and Sons
Arynm replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
I was in New York earlier this week and my hotel was scarily near the Scientology building in Times Square. As in, I walked around the corner from my hotel and there it was, in all its glory. They had a big sign that said Scientology out front and big TVs showing all manner of Scientology crap. The windows were filled with Hubbard books (in several different languages). They had TVs, Outside! I looked in the windows as I was walking by and saw the people that were working, but no one else. I never saw anyone go in. Place scared the crap out of me so I tried to avoid it, just had bad juju and it smelled bad. Could have been New York in general that smelled, but I didn't notice it until I was near the building. -
Holy hell, that was brutal! What a mean, spiteful thing to do. She took such glee in it, but it's very telling that she went home to an empty house to stare at a Oscar that isn't and will never be hers, while Bette was surrounded by friends. Such an empty victory for Joan.

I totally guessed cliff notes for the work around for Adam and my daughter (18) had no idea what they were. After I congratulated myself on my stellar parenting, I told her all about them. She was amazed that that was "a thing" I hope she doesn't get any bright ideas Real Adam must be a very good friend for so many of his childhood buddies to still be in touch.

While I applaud his good sportsmanship, he totally runs like that. I have no outside knowledge, I just really, really hope he does.

I watched All about Eve last night. What a great movie! So many memorable lines that still hear today and had no idea they were from this movie. Bette also met Gary Merril during filming a later married him. It also bears knowing that if Anne Baxter(Eve) hadn't pushed so hard for Lead actress instead of Supporting, where I think she belonged, they probably both would have won. As it was, Anne cost them both an Oscar as they split the vote. Monroe was also in this, in her first role and Zsa Zsa was so jealous that her husband, George Sanders was filming with this young gorgeous blond that she showed up to set every day to watch him. So many behind the seasons tidbits! I live for this stuff.

Lets all congratulate Steven, who not only put a shirt on, but also managed pants! At the same time!! It's a bounty of success, and just in time for Christmas. It's a Christmas miracle Ya'll!

Dad chuckling when Dr Now suggested Steven was on a food strike is everything. Hes trying to act sick enough to stay in the hospital and Dr. is having none of it.
-
Throwing pee around, tormenting nurses, abusing pain meds. He is out, thank god! Love Dr. Now telling him they will drop him at a homeles shelter. Disgusting human being.
-
He really has the nice guy routine down pat. Please and thank yous all over the place, but if you are 5 minutes late with his dinner, you better watch out! The switch is flipped

Still on Team Justin, but I reserve the right to change my mind at any time. I just feel like his brother has him so beaten down, he doesn't know how to act.
-
Just sitting in that chair everything spread open to the world, just LOVING it. So gross
-
Ya'll I am dying over them looking for a spare tire. I think Steven has about 5 spare tires to give them.
-
Justin seems to be an ok guy. Steven is an abusive asshole, he has some serious impulse control issues.

OK, lets meet back here in 20 years and we will check her out. I bet technology will be more advanced and 70 will be the new 30. I hope at least

Hollywood History: The Real-Life "Feud" and More
Arynm replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Feud [V]
This is probably terrible, but I was adopted from Memphis TN and I always used to ask my mother how much I cost/where she stole me from. I was adopted in the 70's so long after the home was shut down, so I was just being a brat and my mom knew it was a joke. -
Yikes! Something is going on with Jessica's face/neck for sure. I wish she would stop "freshening up" it has gone too far. Sarandon looks fine, but do not defend the shoes to me! CZJ is glowing! She is gorgeous all of the time, I have no idea how old she is, but damn! Whatever work she has had done (if any) is flawless. You can really tell a persons age by their hands and Jessica and Susans hands are really talking, but again CZJ hands look so much younger, I need her regimen stat!

My first thought of this episode was "boring!!" but I really have changed my mind. I think it was because he didn't make it all about him and so the drama and tears and trying to explain away an ancestors actions was missing. I really liked that he just wanted some info and when his ancestor joined the Confederate army he didn't wail and ring his hands and proclaim him a bad person. There were many reasons to fight on either side, good and bad. It has nothing to do with Noah and he knew it. I really like him and his ability to separate his ancestors past from him. I live in the south my family is Jewish so no Civil War for me, they were in Russia and Lithuania at the time, but my husbands line I can trace to the Revolutionary War. My daughter could join DAR if she wanted. We have all kinds on that tree, Union, confederate, slave owners, Rebels and I am sure a few Loyalists. It is an amazing tree and I am so glad that my daughter is interested, or it all gets lost.

Hollywood History: The Real-Life "Feud" and More
Arynm replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Feud [V]
Didn't the mother is actually the grandmother start with Merle's mother? Are we even sure that the grandmother and mother didn't want to perpetuate the story for the good of the family? I have no idea and I did look briefly to see if anything was mentioned. It could be possible that the family decided this way was best for her career and were ok with it. It totally sucks, don't get me wrong, and it really is too bad that she had to deny her heritage because of the racism of the day. I will say that her having a picture painted of her mother as white, after she had died is a little beyond the pale, no pun intended. -
Didn't the pres get contacts last half-season? Why is he still on/off with the glasses?
-
Considering that Scotland is voting again to leave and Australia has already said that when she dies, they will have no other figurehead like she was, her title will be vastly different than when she started.

Leah Remini: Courageous or Foolhardy
Arynm replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
Oh, boy they are hitting hard! Leah is "not nice" that's all they got? Weak sauce at best. That Stacey really has a screw loose. I guess Leah has finally gotten under their skin and they are coming at her. Jenna Elfman and Kirstie Alley jumped into the fray as well. You wouldn't catch my corpse watching Jenna's new show, she is getting exactly nothing from me. I think Leah is very upfront and confrontational but that certainly doesn't make her a bad person, I think those are admirable qualities because most people don't say what they really think. I am sure Stacey didn't think she was a bad person when Leah was giving her money or at her bedside when she was having her baby, alone, without the father anywhere is sight or even named. She is strong and knew this was coming, I can't wait for the next season!
