What I really enjoy about this show is that they show that not everyone is all good or all bad. It hit me most this episode when the wife told Emily she was going to be sick again for the ceremony. She knew what had happened to Emily and was trying, in her own small way to help her. As, Emily pointed out though, the wife couldn't be sick every month. I appreciate the way the show is making me remember that a lot of these people are just trying to survive. Who knows what the wife's story is before all this happened? I didn't really notice the sex as all that gratuitous, I saw nothing wrong with how it was portrayed, June liked to be on top and was finally able to enjoy her self.

My son was also non verbal at that age, but he had fluid in his ears that made everything sound underwater to him. Dr. kept saying everything was ok so he didn't get the help he needed until around 4. He's a tough cookie so he had ear infections but never said anything or complained so we had no idea. I am now militant that if kids are not speaking they need to get checked. I bother my friends until they do. The single mom seemed depressed to me. Who wouldn't be? I just kept thinking, get moving! Your kids need food, get to work lady! The show wouldn't really let them starve, she signed them up, play along! The older man made me cry, watching him work so hard and then be hurt so he couldn't work the next day was heartbreaking. His family really saved the day, they got up and went to work. I am Jewish and I swear all my ancestors were tailors. I thought it was amusing they said basically the same thing. That family really came together and made it happen. I'm sure it helps if you have skill like that to fall back on. The items they made really looked good What do you do with watercress? I think the fact that they looked so cute in their little period dresses really helped with the selling of watercress.

When I read the book, the biggest shock to me, out of everything was the fact that they didn't even keep their names! They were nothing but an extension of a man, not even a man they chose, but a man they were assigned to. Knocked me flat on on my ass. The sheer inhumanity of not even having your own first name was mind boggling to me.

It just doesn't make sense to me how they treat the handmaids. If Gilead was so focused on babies, one would think that Handmaids, or anyone who could have a baby would be revered. They would be revered above all else, because they are the ones that can continue the species. To treat them as badly as they do, with the name calling and the beating and the not reading and writing, it has to be something else. It seems to be the subjugation of women, to the point that these men are literally breeding themselves out of existence. Makes zero sense to me, but I guess that what you get when you don't see the forest for the trees.

I love that show! I watched it when it first came out and recently have been rewatching because of this show. Not all of the episodes are on there, especially some more obscure people, but they made a total of 152 episodes. I has a lot of great info. I wish I could find all of the episodes. I think there are a few stories that they should have made like Thomas Ince and Olive Thomas or even Bob Crane.

I am not sure the world has enough distance yet from this for it to be an accurate portrayal of Charles and Diana. There are many people out there who believe the St. Diana and will be royally(hee!) pissed to see anything that might shed a bad light on her. This could go very badly for him if he is not very careful. I am not sure I want to see another careful show on Charles and Di. I will give it a shot, but I really don't have high hopes. I just hope Ryan gets the jewels right. There is an entire website (2 actually) that shows what jewels the Royals wear everyday. It is a lot of fun.

I thought the men at dinner were more upset that George would be so stupid to bring his whore to dinner.
