I agree with this statement. I hate Suckie like she is a walking, talking Ebola virus, but AP is not the problem, it's the character. I grew to hate Suckie in the books and quite frankly only read as much as I did because of other characters. I never bothered with the last two because it was just too much with the snow flaking over an unworthy character. What we see on screen is 100% the fault of the writers who seemed to be mesmerized by the very character traits in the book that made Suckie absolutely loathsome to me as a reader. I hate Beeel in the books too, but at least CH had the good sense to dial his character back a few books in. When it comes to Beeel, Harris had it right. The only thing the showrunners had right was the decision to keep Lafayette alive. Nelsan Ellis is beyond compare and I will forever appreciate the show for bringing him to my attention. I for one will never understand why the showrunners were so invested in the horrid Beeel and Sookie love affair, as it was but a blip in the life of Sookie in the stories the series is based on. I guess they did crap on the character of Eric just as CH did, but at least CH gave a real relationship instead of the Bill placeholder crap we got here. If Eric and Pam remain alive and LaLa remains alive and whatever these dopey writers consider happy (I will continue checking with you guys), I might give in and purchase the final season, as I realized that I have basically ff through everything that isn't Eric, Pam and Lafayette for the past three seasons anyway. It is amazing, but when you act as if they are the only characters on the show, it is actually an enjoyable watch. I don't know how I'm going to deal with the awful Lettie Mae ruining my Lafayette scenes. Oh Yeah Writers: FU with a dildo the size of the Empire State Building for how you did Tara, in life, death, afterlife, true death and second afterlife . Guess it would have been too much to actually write at least a decent send-off for the character. I mean doing that would have meant cutting at least one Beeel flashback and possibly a Beeel and Suckie scene and we all know how the world was clamping for and so enjoyed that mess.

Alex, Marcus and Amanda are my favorites. I can't stand Aaron. Mark is okay, but not my favorite. Something about Maneey bugs, but she is beautiful and I love her voice. I like Chris and have grown to like Geoffrey after Iron Chef, he ranked with Aaron before that.

Loved, loved, loved this episode. We learned so much back story. This show has been hit or miss for me at best, mostly miss, but this episode was just great. I called the psychiatrist as the killer from practically the beginning. Don't know why, he just came across as uber creepy.

Thanks! This then begs the question why Brook was so insistent on being a mother to the embryo when she gave up her rights. Stupid on her part.
-
I'm still puzzled by a major point of the premise of the show. They have 100 fertilized eggs and they are doing a lottery to see who gets them. Wouldn't the biological parents hold ownership to those embryos? How is any sort of lottery taking place? I know they killed one bio mom in episode one, did they go kill them all, and what about the bio dads?

Some terrific casting news: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/07/29/brooklyn-nine-nine-kyra-sedgwick/

It is so sad that I am so totally not going to miss this show when it is gone. Will not even get the DVD (well maybe, when it is inevitably dirt cheap, jst for the sake of commpletion). What a waste. If possiblly, my dislike or Suckie continues to grow exponentially. She truly is vapid and self-absorbed. I doubt she knows the true meaning of the word love. At the very least, I don't think she is truly capable of loving anyone but herself. While I hate Suckie and Beeel as a couple and as indiividuals, I actually hope they end up together, as no othe being living or otherwise should have to suffer through this pair. Lettlie Mae still rambling and ruining every scene, now one of the last of the truly awesome characters (Pam would be the other), Lafayette has been sucked intothe abyss with her. I long thought the character of Sam needed to be written out of the show. The writers ruined him with increasingly mind-numbingly pointless storylines. Sarah remains among theliving and is the cure for Hep-V. How trite. I still call Eric being the vamp to die because Suckie and Beeel need to be able to nauseate post show demise. Well, truth be told, the show started derailing the minute they allowed that Michelle Forbes storyline, which should have eneded after a few episodes, to drag out the entire season. They never really got their mojo back after that. It has been a series of moments propped up by certain characters: Pam, Lafayette, Eric, Russell, Nan, the guy from the authority who is in eveything and whose name I can not remember, but he is the one who had Pam silvered, even the vamp who wanted to make Tara his when she was still human (the irony of her winding up a vamp only to be tken out so soon) were the engines that kept the True Blood machine running. Now that the showrunners have to wrap things uppp, their deficiencies,, whch have long been visible, are on full display. Said it before and I'll say it again. If they are going to kill Eric off, I wih they would do it sooner rather than laterso, I can stop subjecting myself to this mess.

R&B Divas: Los Angeles - General Discussion
Happytobehere replied to Stardancer Supreme's topic in R&B Divas: Los Angeles
I like the LA version better as well. While KeKe is the bomb and I really like Monifah and Syleena. (Syleena was the diva who I had mutiple CDs by pre-show). I think the LA Divas are stronger vocally. I hope that sans Dawn and Kelly the drama can be kept to a minimum and it can truly be about the music this season. -
Here is an Entertainment Weekly interview with the cast at Comic Con and their thoughts for lack of a better term on the upcoming season: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/07/26/watch-the-archer-cast-reveal-gods-plan-for-season-six/

Thanks for the response. Those I know who watch it either don't DVR (I know, what's wrong with them), or they watch so many things and prioritize savables (GoT, Hannibal, Sleepy Hollow, Scandal).

I decided to start this topic since every other topic for the Blacklist seems pretty specific and I have a general question I am seeking help with. Does anyone know where I can watch the entire first season sans buying it? Several people have told me it is a good show and the kind of program I would like, but NBC never has the full season On Demand, it is either the middle six episodes or the last six episodes. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Scandal's Hiring A Netflix Star? Why Stop With Portia de Rossi?
Happytobehere replied to Primetimer's topic in Scandal [V]
While I love AD and think Portia is great, all the work she has had done on her face makes it hard to look at her. I don't know if I can take a multi-episode arc with her. -
So the bootleg Von Trapp Family and the tight-pant wearing, roller skating nitwit made it through -- how can they claim this is the best season with that bunch? At least the little boy singer from last night made it through.
-
I completely agree, the little boy is a natural talent, who truly does have the potential to go on and be a great singer. The girl was effortful, and I totally get what you were saying. She is an okay singer who over sings and people continue to mistake that for great singing skills. I hate when they put kids like that through because they are actually doing more harm to the kid in terms of vocals. Mira will overusing now but when she reaches a certain age, she will not be able to sing anywhere near the level she sings now because of the vocal strain. This happens to kids on Broadway all the time. They are powerhouses as kids and once they have fully developed, the singing skill is gone because of the damage to the vocal chords and larynx. All I have to say is if they don't put the little boy through, I call foul. There is no way they think she is better than him.

Just have to say I have no idea why Heidi is a judge. When she, who is famous for being down on comics, criticized the comic saying words to the effect of "If you are an entertainer, you an stand against the wall and entertain," I wanted Howard or Howie, heck even Mel B to ring her neck. No bobble-head, when you are a model whose sole skills are having come from a good gene pool and having learned how to walk in heels a certain way, you can stand against a wall and model because you are neither entertaining nor talented. Real talent requires more than that, and that is why your selection and retention as a judge is a travesty. I mean it is actually painful to listen to her trying to string together her pointless critiques.

Actually, the dvd release date is September 16th -- Have already preordered. This is usual dvds of series, they usually release it a week or so before the new season starts, so that people can binge watch and catch up.I was recently looking to do a rewatch an was disappointed that On Demand only had the last 5 episodes available. Network TV needs to do what cable does, they leave the entire season up and it doesn't hurt their sales in the least, in fact in helps attract more viewers, which in turn, leads to bigger sales.

R&B Divas: Los Angeles - General Discussion
Happytobehere replied to Stardancer Supreme's topic in R&B Divas: Los Angeles
I really like this show. No shade, but I think overall, the singers are stronger than the Atlanta version. Well I guess any version without LaTavia would have to be stronger, but I thought this even last season before Meelah and little miss non-diva showed up. -
S02.E02: The Son Also Rises
Happytobehere replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Witches Of East End [V]
The primary problem with this show, aside from the bad acting and the bad writing, is the poor casting. Freya has no chemistry with the dull/possibly evil brothers. As a result, you didn't get the Dash love, let alone the Killian obsession. Ingrid had more chemistry with dead black cop and that was thrown out the window. Wendy is now being thrown at the new guy, but I sense no chemistry there. The only male cast member who was effective to me was Victor and he naturally will not really be a part of the show. Plenty of shows can overcome bad acting with great chemistry, just look at many soaps, prime time shows and movies. The only way to overcome the lack of chemistry in the face of poor acting is mile an hour action and at least semi-appealing leads -- case in point Natalie Portman and Hayden Christiansen in the Star Wars Prequels (lack of action only highlighted poor acting and no chemistry) and Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth in the Thor movies (the two of them as a couple are painful to watch, but so much else is going on, it is easier to overlook the anti-chemistry between these two supposed great loves). -
Mickey continues to be an all around monster. Ray the now rapist (?) continues to be his father's son, as he was revealed to be in Season 1. This is why he so clearly understands that Mickey is a cancer that needs to be excised, but while not as pervasive a disease as Mickey, Ray is a cancer too. The difference is on some level Ray seems to want to be better, he just doesn't know how. I will watch this season, but unless some changes are made -- this means you Abby and your annoyingly, stupid and entitled kids.

Yes, I fear the writing is on the wall for Eric. Unfortunately, I always assumed he would die, not just for the sickening, boring and pointless Suckie and Beeeel reunion, but I got the sense that Alexander S. only agreed to come back on a limited basis because the show is ending, so I assumed he would not be present through the end of the season. I hope I'm wrong, but I sadly and depressingly doubt it. Loved seeing so many of the old characters via flashback, phone calls, and near death experiences. Once again, Lafayette brings the awesome. Knowing that Eric will most lie meet the true death and Pam will be miserable, happiness for Lafayette is all I have to hope for.

Watching the Esq Network mini-marathon (hate that they don't show the entire season) of Season 6 and only one episode in, I have rediscovered my hate for the undeservedly arrogant, bully-boy that is Mike Isabella, man what a turd. I know Robin is not the best but to say that regardless of the quality of her food she should go home because you don't like her. Well if it was based solely on personal appeal, you would never have made it as far as you did. Still love Ash dislike of Padma and his acknowledgement of his snide meanness.
-
Any one know whether Victor will be returning? I really like his character and the actor, but it seems like he will be gone for the foreseeable future.
-
The answer is A. That being said, this is so far a good throw-away series. Nothing too deeply involving but fun enough to keep you watching. So unless something horrendous appears on the screen, I'm in.
-
I am officially done with this show. It is so bad, it didn't even get the five or six episodes the dreadful Helix got out of me. Poor acting, poor plots, poor characters, just poor all around.
-
This show isn't even a summer pleasure anymore, it is sad and painful to watch. Way too much of the dreadful Rachel and James (is that the name of the DB Woodside character?), who has made my girl Jessica dreary, and the who care battle between Harvey and Mike. Not enough Louis, Jessica (sans DB character) and Donna. I actually ff through a good portion of the show. Not a good sign. The show-runners better right the ship soon or I'll be gone.
