  1. She knows that nothing bad is going to happen to her with Sam Hannah at the helm! Speaking of Sam: nice bit of flirting with ME Chase, sorry @Snazzy Daisy. I kinda liked Lucy and Jesse's Post-Its. (I also liked Ernie calling out Jesse for the whole 'handsome' thing).
  2. Delilah is crazy, McGee (and Sean Murray) looks so much better with the goatee. This is the Riker-effect all over again! Good episode - AI creator was a good actor. I loved cranky gran. And now I think it's time to re-watch Person of Interest.
  3. I've read somewhere that it was done that way to deal with the issue of Aang claiming that he had never killed anyone - which some considered a plot hole in the cartoon. But not sure that theory holds. We'll have to see if live action Aang even claims such a thing - and if he does I'll have to go back to the Blue Spirit episode and check if he cushioned the fall of all those Fire nation soldiers he sent over the parapets.
  4. Loved seeing Ventress again. Not particularly in love with another character hemming and hawing about the Force and someone being Force sensitive or not.
  5. For a Lucy-centered episode that was okay. I always wondered about her family because we got occasional hints. Trope-heavy but could provide some good story material. I guess one of the brothers will show up sooner or later. As for Kai's girlfriend: It was a bit weird that the team would think he had made her up. I don't mind LL Cool J though I have no idea what they plan with his character in the long run. Another spin-off?
  6. Yeah, but those are not the same dogs as dogs trained for illegal substances. Unless we're talking about Five-0s Eddie who was the greatest canine multi-tasker since Lassie. Also: having plant based allergies that bad should disqualify you from dog handling. Dogs in customs spend a lot of time sniffing produce as watching too many episodes of Border Patrol has taught me. We'll have to hand wave this scene as Boom Boom borrowing a dog - cheaper than hire another actor. Speaking of economizing - I loved how the other customers at the bar did not bat an eye when the tall blonde woman pulled a gun and pointed it the supposedly much beloved regular. Will we get a big wedding by the end of the season?
  7. Thanks! I knew there had been a plot about those uniforms in the cartoon but I couldn't remember the exact details. I love this little grace notes!
  8. This was fine - but if you take inspiration from Point Break I really want to see a crazy chase through backyards, kitchens, and living rooms. Whistler and Kai have good platonic chemistry. I always enjoy Whistler's moments of unexpected enthusiasm - heists are fun LOL! Tenant crashing into Sam's seminar guns blazing (figuratively) and then trying to backtrack with some dignity was also quite good.
  9. Cartoon Ozai was for me the weakest character of the show. I never thought he cared much for either of his kids beyond them being the means to keep the might of the fire nation going. Maybe there were moments but we got to see so little of him so late that I must have missed them. It was a good decision to introduce him early, give him more screen time and hand him to Daniel Dae Kim who managed to convince me that Ozai in his twisted way does actually have genuine feelings for his kids - I mean blink and you miss it but there were moments.
  10. Yeah, the B-plot about the job swapping was more entertaining than the A-plot. Does anyone keep track on how many times Kasie got kidnapped/taken hostage? I liked her coats, so that's something.
  11. My only burning question so far: Will we ever get to see Colter sprain an ankle, get stabbed in the calf, kicked in the knee, cut in the palm?* (*Except for doing a blood oath in the time honored manner of creating an open wound in the part of the body that gets regularly in contact with all sorts of pathogens.)
  12. The writing for Lucy has always been atrocious and I have no idea why. Jane and Kate are (mostly) written as mature and accomplished women doing their jobs. Lucy is younger - but not that much younger than Whistler I think - but there are other and better ways to make that point. I'm just going to say it:Are they setting up Sam as a love interest? Or is one of the regulars leaving the show this season and he'll step in if there's a next season? So far I can't figure out why he's there in the first place.
  13. This episode really brought home how much war impacted and wrecked everybody. The scenes between Iroh and the Earthbender were hard to watch. And the flashback to the funeral of Lu Ten's was heartbreaking - also: they used 'Leaves from the Vine' for the score. Show made me teary-eyed for firebenders.
  14. Dang, they actually made me cry. That was great. Angzilla did not disappoint. I could have done without that last bit of dialogue about melons but I've seen plenty of folks complaining that there's not enough goofiness, so they should be pleased.
  15. LOL! My first thought when seeing her close up was 'Where the hell is Daenerys Targaryen's wig-maker?' Great episode - and giving Sokka and Yue a connection through the spirit world was a stroke of genius. I had been wondering about that Kitsune. Also great: giving Yue more agency and de-jerk Hahn.
  16. Okay, this is an embarrassing question for someone who has watched the animated version more than once, but here goes. How did the Fire Nation know that they hadn't finished off the Avatar in the attack against the Airbenders? And why did they keep looking for him or her if there had been no signs of Avatar activity for 100 years? Was that ever explained? Was it explained in this episode and I missed it?
  17. I loved cabbage man and how often he got cut off just before 'CABBAGES' so we had to really wait for it LOL!
  18. I never liked the Bumi episode because the mixture of goofball and cruelty did not really work for me. This take with Bumi being legitimately angry and disillusioned after 100 years of war works a lot better. And although it's unfair to blame Aang for all the suffering it's a human reaction and one I always felt was not given enough breathing space in the cartoon.
  19. Google insists on telling me that Mary McDonnell plays Colter's Mom and Wikipedia says she joined the cast 2022. So I watched the pilot wondering when she would show up. No idea what happened but I guess the fact that they initally went for a relatively big name for the part means that Moma Colter definitely has a couple of figurative and probably one literal skeletons in the closet. No disrespect to Wendy Crewson. (Also: during her first scene I kept wondering what the hell Mary McDonnell had done to her face.)
  20. I assume they switched the order of episodes because some suit thought the Shaw family mystery was the better hook than the missing person of the week. And I've already decided that geography on this show follows the rules established by Supernatural. If you have a cool car the US is the size of Liechtenstein.
  21. Not that exciting, but no hook up of the week is appreciated. The whole evil cult thing was a tad too much on the nose for me. They can't all be winners.
  22. And WHERE is the Airwolf remake I've been asking for for years now??? Hollywood is remaking old shows left and right but nobody touches the magic helicopter - I'm just saying. I like this show but an Airstream is no Airwolf.
  23. Glad to see Lucy is still annoying and insecure 🙄
  24. This was pretty much what I had been expecting and I'm fine with that - tropes and all. A bit like the 'The Finder' but less quirky.
  25. The archivist. As someone who regularly comes in contact with his kind (of the not-Spooks variety) let me tell you he needs to be protected at all costs. If you ever needed to do some research and met with one of his evil siblings - think Smaug behind a desk - you know what I'm talking about. To any archivist reading this: Just kidding!
