  1. I was surprised how fast we got the first shot of him without shirt robes. Yet, the best scene of both episodes was still Jecki deflating his preposterous scheme by applying Occam's Razor to tactics.
  2. Just checked this out - they managed to get Christian Kane for a recurring guest part, clever.
  3. Bonus points for 'Gimme Shelter'. But yeah, that was a bit underwhelming. This show is not reinventing the wheel or tv - and that's okay. I like to have a solid procedural based on a tried and true formula. But they need to address its main weakness and find a way to give Colter more interactions with regular characters. Reennie better never get hit in the left shoulder, she needs that arm for wearing her handbag teapot style. I wonder where they are going with that story-line of her quitting her job. Will she open her own law firm and occasionally hire Colter to find a missing culprit/witness? That would make Velma and Teddi even more redundant. I really wish they had given us the backstory how Colter met them. (Does anyone remember 'The Finder' with Geoff Stults. Somewhat similar premise but with more humor and side-kicks who joined the main character on his quests. I really liked it - of course it got cancelled after one season.)
  4. Since the Primarch referred to Moll as the Scion's Joined and her power, I guess we can deduce that there are female Breen and that some sort of marriage-like ritual is known to the Breen. Why a species so hell-bent on protocol and its own superiority would accept what sounds like a mere handfasting with a member of another - supposedly inferior - race, is beyond me. The only reason I would have bought that plot-line was Moll being pregnant and therefore ensuring the survival of the bloodline, somewhat tainted but what can you do if you're so hellbent on such things and there are no alternatives (cloning anyone?) 🤷‍♀️ Instead we're stuck with this weird zombie plot. The Breen just going with it is ridiculous. They did not even address the issue if it would be a good idea to preserve the Scion's body (maybe they did but it wasn't mentioned and that bugs me more than it should).
  5. Y'all underestimate the power of pouting and marble-mouthing!
  6. I guess there won't be many 'This is Us' Easter eggs. Hartley and Morrison had good chemistry on that show, I'm looking forward to this episode.
  7. Oh show, I wish you were as clever as you're pretty. The mindscape test was some light therapy and Moll pulled a Daenerys.
  8. I'll be impressed if they include a reference to 'Alice in Wonderland' as a callback to the first season (episode 3 to be exact).
  9. The lonely wolf trope is always difficult to maintain because it does not allow viewers to witness the main character connect with other characters on a deeper level. And I think this is Tracker's Achilles' heel. As much as I enjoyed Russell/Ackles I really wish they'd give us an episode where Colter interacts with Velma and Teddi in person and not just for a couple of minutes. I would also welcome a flashback episode to see how they partnered up. (Given how tv land works that's most likely to happen in the almost inevitable episode where Colter gets shot not in the shoulder and spends some time in ICU.)
  10. They put Baby in a corner!!! (Yeah, I know - Chevrolet is not a sponsor.) Someone in the writers room is definitely a SPN fan. Loved all the Easter eggs: Baby and her lovely purr, Roanoke, layers, long lost brother showing up in the night, crazy Dad, shady Mom, fraternal issues, Motel, visit to the morgue, occult shenanigans, time- and space-warping travel, what did I miss? I guess there was also a plot - but who cares?
  11. Judging from what Moll said in episode 5 I assumed the dock duty was some sort of punishment.
  12. Prime Cat's Log, 7th life, day 2265 Getting so weary of all the shenanigans that I had to take a break. Underlings were temporarily stomped by fetch quest until first underling’s mate got a cheat sheet. Proceeded to planet with unknown pride of underlings living there. First underling’s mate and ginger underling decide to mingle with unknown pride and to participate in also unknown religious ritual. Because that is always a good idea. Lots of moaning about something called ‘Prime Directive’. Asked voice in hull and she gave explanation and examples. Obviously rule invented by underlings as means to entertain themselves by finding various ways to circumvent it. First underling’s mate has no time or brains for said circumvention and just trudges ahead knowing she’ll get away with it – as usual. Underlings of unknown pride will somehow have to manage with supposed damage caused by said rule breaking. Grumpy underling of red pride is taking care of skittish kitten because all the other underlings – who insist on talking about feeeelings all the time - don’t care about kitten feeling guilty about time-bug. Quest interrupted because lost kitten and injured mate have resurfaced. Not sure why this takes precedence over apparently universe-saving quest. Lost kitten still had information about fetch quest – now in hands of underlings. Not sure why we’re still here. Mate of lost kitten has pissed off his own pride and now his uncle wants him back. Mate of lost kitten is princeling – of course he is. Lots of talking and scheming ensues while lost kitten and princeling hatch insane plan. Not sure why they were not separated – probably because of feeeeelings. Princeling dies as consequence of insane plan and lost kitten runs off with princeling’s pride to help them with fetch quest. Meanwhile favorite underling of yellow pride shows up and solves next riddle. (First underling helped a bit with riddle solving but since he continues with mopey mating ritual, I’m not inclined to give him praise.) Next stop: ancient magic library full of knowledge. None of all the scientists on board nor apparently not quite all-knowing voice in hull ever heard of said library. Further proof that favorite underling of yellow pride rocks!
  13. I wish Dad had taught him to wear gloves when dealing with severed body parts 🤢
  14. Yeah, that was my thought too, except I was more thinking of a tumor as this seems tv shows go-to for such plots. We haven't seen her interact with anyone else, that's always a red flag.
  15. Even if L'ak and Moll required intervention to procreate - they had plenty of opportunities to do so. Doesn't strike me as an argument against her being pregnant. It would make an interesting plot and provide her with a good motivation for that final deal she made with uncle Primarch. Much more interesting that the whole zombie spiel the writers room chose - which is why I think she's not pregnant after all. I'm glad Reno called out how much looking for a magical library sounds like a holodeck adventure for kids LOL! And another vote for getting a 'Young Reno' show but only with different writers. This show is pretty, I'll give them that. The first shot zooming from the outside into Discovery was great, as was the arrival of the Breen ship.
  16. I'll sit here at my table for one at the JJ shipping club. I like the relationship because it breaks with so many tropes and because it is (relatively) drama-free. Of course Parker needs a childhood drama plus some parental baggage *sigh* Regardless of my feelings for the JJ ship I hope Katrina Law stays on the show because she's by far my favorite female character on this show. (I liked Ziva before she got a backstory that was more convoluted than a ball of wool after a playing session with half a dozen kittens high on catnip.)
  17. Dory voicing a rather bleak view on Mama Shaw was great but I was more intrigued by her mentioning that she apparently left soon after Dad's death to live with an aunt and uncle while Colter remained with their mother. Did we know about that? It really added layers to Colter's characterization. He stayed out of loyalty to his mother but he also must have felt like he had to because both of his siblings 'bailed' - in his view. Looks as if he then transferred whatever negative emotions he felt towards his mother to his siblings. Quite a complex soup of guilt and anger and resentment to deal with. As Dory rightly points out that is another reason he's not answering her calls - or those of Russell's - it's not just that they have differing views on what had happened the night Dad had died.
  18. The villain was telegraphed from the get-go but it was still entertaining. I liked the sister and that last scene was really well written and well played.
  19. The Prime Directive: it's more like guidelines anyway. Kicking a pre-industrial civilization into the age of high tech is super easy, barely an inconvenience.
  20. The writing for the ELITE team was horrible: a combo of teenagers on their worst day with added testosterone poisoning. Also: Rosemary, Thmye and Jesse??? My OCD called and asked for some Basil. Nobody checked Doctor Cruz's backstory to figure out if she had really arrived with the Russians? Two best teams on the island indeed.
  21. Late to the party - this sucks. Can't believe it got cancelled and NCIS Sydney got picked up. I'll miss having a Hawaiian based show on my schedule. That had been pretty much as staple since Five 0 rolled out. I liked a show lead by an age-appropriate female agent. Tennant was an interesting character. Really did not expect the network to pull the plug after two season.
  22. Who decided Delilah was in need of a personality transplant??? First we had the weird subplot about Tim's facial hair and now this? I mean, she worked for the DoD and is now teaching cryptology and her husband still works for a government agency - so getting their faces (and their kids faces) on tv plus info where they live seems such a great idea. Delilah was introduced as a smart and fierce woman. And now she's turning into a wife that nags her husband so bad about kitchen appliances that his boss feels compelled to offer him his couch??? WTF?!? But if the McGees were so desperate for that free kitchen remodeling that any safety concerns were tossed to the wind - why did they not bring the killer (pun intended) argument for the show's producers? Remodel a kitchen in an apartment where four people have been killed (and three of them had their remains hidden away under the floorboards). No reality show could resist! I guess there was an A-plot but I don't care this whole kitchen thing annoyed me for good.
  23. All I want to know is: does Rennie have a Tardis? She shows up at whatever godforsaken place Colter is camping and I can't remember her ever explaining how she got there. Looks like Justin Hartley did the parachut jump himself? Colter should start wearing pauldrons. I was actually multi-tasking when he got shot. I knew before I looked that it must have been a shoulder wound. Tea bag thing seems real - for minor wounds. Black tea because of the tannins.
  24. I love how the production team is full leaning into Nick's Dracula costume - they always edit out his reflection LOL! I think at this point it's safe to say that Greg's golden head will end up with John Robins or Steve Pemberton.
  25. Prime Cat's Log, 7th life, day 2260 Still on quest for cookie cutter. Underlings thinking it provides answers for everything or is horrible weapon, huh? Next stop: cosmic butthole. Underlings decide cosmic butthole needs exploring. Of course. First underling's (still sighing inwards but paws getting sore from all the typing) mate decides she and first underling best suited for exploring cosmic butthole. What is everyone else doing on this ship? First underling's mate made effort to study grumpy underling's culture. Only a couple of days after I put an entry in my log that nobody had done that so far. Coincidence? Has she read my log??? Will add this to her long list of insolences but first must find better hiding place for log. First underling and mate talking about mirror universe - wonder if mirror Grudge has to deal with equal amounts of nonsense from underlings. Lost kitten finally found - first underling surprised that kitten does not share fuzzy feelings about ancestor who left her fending for her own. And then he compares me to mate! Moans about getting bitten when he forgets to feed me. Clearly does not understand concept of justified response to neglect. Holy Sekhmet and Bastet! Lost kitten is also entangled in tiring mopey mating ritual! Had some inkling of respect for kitten, all gone now. Grumpy new underling is offering treats to his underlings - I knew I liked him. More mopey mating ritual - will it ever stop? So knowing grumpy underling's culture and history saved first underling and mate from cosmic butthole - and who gave her the idea to do so??? Huh?? Lost kitten lost again, good riddance. There's already enough mopeyness on this vessel as it is. Apparently healer underling suffering from side-effects of weird Trill mind-melding experiment. Surprise! Citrus mash sounds delicious - off to investigate.
