I had to unlike your post just so I could like it again. Interestingly enough, my Facebook memories reminded me of when I went to his live show 6 years ago. I was so excited and proud. Now, if he had another live show (that we could safely attend), I wouldn’t even bother.

Mina has always come across to me as confident in her abilities, not arrogant. She'll stand up for herself, but also eager to listen to and learn from those who are stronger than she is.

I'm assuming that you conveniently missed the discussion of the fact that Black patients were consistently given fewer pain medications than White patients, with the same symptoms. Or, the countless studies (not discussed on the show, but alluded to at the end of the episode) that show that Black (and Indigenous) patients are routinely not believed about their symptoms, given lesser treatment, or are considered to be on drugs, and then treated accordingly, when they aren't. These aren't just lived experiences, they are actual facts. That you were so infuriated that the show discussed that Black people are being treated differently in medicine speaks volumes.

If you’re Canadian, you can watch it on CBC Gem. If you’re from the US, I don’t think the app is available there. But then, you have Target, so it seems like an even trade.

I hate to brag, but a few years ago, my dance teacher set a piece on us using hula hoops. I have a professional hula hoop in my house. I got to the point I could hula two hoops while twirling in a circle. When I run for Prime Minister, it’s going to be my special skill.

I love that she’s pushing back on the stereotypes.

I'm in Canada, and the show is simulcast on CTV. Right as the dance started, it switched back to the American CBS station, so I missed a bunch of the dance frantically yelling "no" and looking for the remote to switch channels. I saw the end, but not anything in the middle. And, because I'm in Canada, I can't watch it on the CBS website. The CTV site better have it up soon, so I can see it. I have a feeling it is worth the watch.

This episode spoke to me on so many levels, like the time a colleague came up to me to say that she saw the show Enslaved, and wanted to tell me how horrible slavery was. It was all I could do not to tell her “it’s 2020, and you’re just now realizing that slavery wasn’t a good thing?” I hope a young cousin Gary ends up on an episode of Mixed-ish.

I live just across the Canadian border from them, and while I am an indoor cat, I do appreciate the beautiful trees when I do go outside. And they do smell amazing!
