  1. No the lesson is don't discriminate against people for ridiculous things like their money not being old enough. Truth be told "old" money back then had roots in slavery and later slums. The whole time I was watching I kept cheering George Russell on "Ruin Them". I don't like bullies and Mrs Morris is a bully. I bet the Morgans and Vanderbilts won't try and cheat George. I'm glad I won't have to watch another Ms O'brien cause a miscarriage because this butler seems much more on top of things. I like this downstairs a lot more than Downton's no tragic Bates or horrible Thomas please for the love of all things. If the young Miss Russell were a bit more sophisticated she'd see that marriage to Oscar would be a kind of freedom she'll never know even if she marries for love.
  2. Harry can't just decide Rock's not his kid anymore. While some people do, it wouldn't be in his character to do that. Kids like Rock are why I don't have kids. I cannot take smug, assholes who want you to consider their feelings yet they will not consider yours. The long scene with the rabbi in the bathroom was terrible. The line delivery was awkward af. Nice to see Carrie supporting a small business. Franklin must be great in bed or an extraordinary boyfriend because no way that gorgeous woman marries him. Anyone remember Miranda's reaction to Samantha moving to LA with Smith? Fuck off Miranda. I don't get Che and Miranda because Miranda doesn't seem fun at all. Samantha is too good for these women. If you're mad at the fashion porn you've come to the wrong show. I don't watch TV for the wardrobe I already have.
  3. I hated those Madame Alexander dolls when my grandmother tried to push them onto me...at 10 I thought they were creepy . People are really going to have to make peace with the world changing. Just like it was okay for women to have their own bank accounts and live on their own before marriage (or forever) now it's other marginalized groups' turn to evolve attitudes. It's not the end of civilization my grandfather predicted. Charlotte's discomfort feels real and I think I'll enjoy watching her trying to figure it all out. I like Rock but I love them with Harry. This episode felt the most SATC. I wish they'd taken a page from Insecure in the way time jumps and new characters are integrated. Seema and LTW are my favorite characters. Keeping my fingers crossed for a spinoff for each of them. I couldn't find the post to quote it but I wholeheartedly agree that the diverse characters need to exist outside their ethnic/cultural identities. More POC in the writers room! I think I'm only hate watching the Miranda scenes now.
  4. Miranda was acting like a smitten teenager about Che--ugh the Miranda I remember would've spent more time questioning this attraction. I love an awakening story-- this one doesn't feel genuine/authentic. I'm not a huge fan of these writers so I blame them. I miss Samantha but I can understand the characters absence if they were such close friends that she removed Carrie's diaphragm, there's no way she'd would abandon her, unless... Carrie dismissed her when it was suggested our other friend was struggling or flipped from friend seeking sympathy to The Client, when she didn't get the response she wanted. So what's "woke"? I just want to get some context... it seems to have a different meaning here than on Twitter. I really feel for Harry and Charlotte. They seem like great parents who must adhere to rules that were put in place because of shitty ones. I think Charlotte and Harry together, should have a heart to heart or Tik Tok to Tik Tok with Rock lol. The school's responsibility is to the welfare of the child. Abuse isn't limited by social status or religious affiliation--school has to be a safe and supportive environment in case home isn't. The difference between men ogling women and women ogling men is one situation has the potential for violence (or death) the other...not so much.
  5. And just like that Insecure ends it's kinda like gentrification hahaha jkjkjk
  6. Isn't that what Seema did repeatedly? Samantha Jones would have told Carrie to get over herself.
  7. She said she was sorry several times and said she'd replace the glass. Carrie misdirected a lot of pent up emotion that Seema didn't mirror because as Carrie said, Seema doesn't know her whole story. I'm glad Seema shut her down--the moment Carrie shifted from "his fingerprints are on this" to "you're just sitting there so casually" that was the Karen-mindset that Seema should respond with deference or an abundance of care for a stranger. I hope they add Black women and W0C in the writers room. This show is FAR from woke. It would benefit from a broader perspective. I'd rather watch a show about Nicole Ari Parker's/LTW's fabulous life.
  8. No. why should she cut her husband's mistress any slack? Who the fuck do these people think they are? My hate watch continues.
  9. I really liked Roman taking care of Kendall. These are terrible people but it was nice to see them supportive of each other in their horribleness. I knew Tom would betray their plan. I wondered though if she had her doubts during the van ride. Greg as the new Tom may be more horrible than them all. I always knew he was a social climber but completely unprepared for him so easily giving up his soul.
  10. I'm going to hate watch this because I miss New York. The reason I hate when people say they are colorblind is because those same people will say stupid shit like "Black Charlotte". I hate that the characters I liked the most, I'll see the least. Samantha was always my fave. I openly wept when Carrie opened the card from the flowers. I knew they were from Samantha. I get that they didn't want to show the older folks having sex but Brady and his girlfriend were just a bit too much. Miranda was a Karen before they had a name for it. Calling the manager (my husband sent over all the liquor and if you could hurry and pour my drink), berating people in public, demanding to know what you are doing in the same space as her...own your shit. It would've been just as easy to laugh and apologize after mistaking the professor for a student. Babbling about the braids is what we now call implicit bias. Stanford is an even bigger asshole than he was in the 90s. The look on Brenda Vaccaro's face said it all when he made her move. Not that she should've sat upfront but there was a better way to let her know. Whatever Kristin Davis is doing to her lips...she needs to cut that shit out. I hate that I see Miranda having an affair with Carrie's boss a mile away.
  11. He knows but I think he was trying to assess whether Roman is a just a court jester or a fuckabout. Bad sexist humor is fine...being unserious is unforgivable in business I liked Logan asking his grandson to taste his food while looking right at Kendall. It's a callback to Logan telling Kendall he couldn't be The One because he wasn't a killer. Logan wanted Kendall to see just how much of a killer he is. I like that Logan doesn't try to make himself out as misunderstood. He's an asshole and okay with it.
  12. I think it's very similar to the way Shiv feels about Tom. She likes that he's "beneath her" so he'll always be accommodating and so what if it's just so he can have proximity to her connections. Why do parents tell their children they shouldn't have been parents? Its such a completely shitty, manipulative thing to do. I had to pause when Roman sent the pic.
  13. I think everyone thinking it, but not saying it is hilarious. I think Justin and Roman have a hot, bi vibe going on and I'm so here for it. They were so drawn to each other's depraved honesty they seem to generate sexual tension between them. Logan wouldn't consider Delgado because he's Latinx.
  14. Geri and Roman might be my favorite TV pairing of 2021. I love when the side characters talk about the Roys. Carl and Frank always crack me up. Has anyone figured out what "run up off the beanstalk" means?
  15. That's all the Black people who liked Downton Abbey and longed to see ourselves in those types of costume dramas. ' Long live Shonda, queen of TV.
  16. Boston, NY and a very old pic of her in Paris. I don't see any product promotion on her IG but I love when racists who are trying to repair the reputation post #BlackLivesMatter. It's hilarious.
  17. I said the same thing. Twenty-one years of depositions and trials has show me that the way Erika acted at the dinner party is not the way innocent people respond to being questioned and challenged. She's a lying bitch and her behavior at the party was abominable. And Kyle sucks for browbeating Sutton while she was in the middle of talking to Erika. She's such a duplicitous piece of work. But how do innocent people act? Innocent people go to jail all the time. I don't know what Erika did but I know a lot of people are gonna make a lot more money than she will off this crazy story starting with Bravo. Maybe I watch too many movies but how crazy would it be if the trophy wife got duped by a man with a ponzi scheme. She makes a great patsy doesn't she. After some of the crazy podcast/shows I've seen like Dirty John couldn't help but think about it.
  18. I rolled my eyes so hard when Dorit said she's in her element. Girl shut up
  19. I hate kids in drama series and they were no exception. This series is really good so far, but I have a question. Are people really so naïve about dealing with police given the proliferation of cop shows and legal dramas? It's annoying to watch the same tropes play out i.e. the demand to be involved in the investigation.
  20. Dorit had a real person chasing her around a pool for the money they're owed so she should shut the fuck up forever.
  21. What brand in the world would want a well-known racist to promote them? Stassi isn't some random Karen yelling at Black people because of a Tigger flag; she tried to get a woman arrested for a reality TV storyline. She should NEVER be allowed to live that shit down. To quote one of the greatest "There's rules to this shit" Get a goddamn job like the rest of us.
  22. I screeeeeamed when Teddi said there have been lawsuits in the group. Haha come thru accountability coach! Make Dorit squirm--self righteous clown.
  23. Was I the only one hoping Shane and Armond would end up in bed? ::shrug:: okay. The world would be a better place if the plane carrying these fuckers back crashed into the ocean. None of these people have any redeeming qualities. Olivia is the same girl that flirted with Paula's boo and made Rachel feel small just for wanting a little human interaction. Nicole's pontificating about the plight of the straight white male-narcissistic, entitled claptrap. I'm so glad Belinda didn't give Rachel any energy. Rachel needs to stand on her own two feet but I think that's a by-product of mommy-issues People like Paula are the reason actual activists soured on the term "woke" even before Fox News found it. Yes but when she closes herself off someone will come along to tell her how she should be open to possibilities and new experiences blah blah blah--at least that's what happens whenever I pull up my drawbridge. That better be 15K in the envelope.
  24. Poor Diamond. I'm mad at myself for being shocked that Carlton is still a jerk. I don't understand why they spent so much time on Gigi and Damien. They could have been made in a reality tv factory--answered my own question I guess. I really, really can't stand Amber and Barnett. I didn't realize how shitty Amber was. Why would you sell a house to pay off student loan debt when Amber could just get a job? If he made enough money to buy a house on his own at that age, Amber could get a job and her salary could be solely devoted to the loans. Not my money but it seems weird. What the hell is even going on with Gigi and Damien?
