  1. When I put myself through listening to 3 of those Inside the writer's room podcasts with MPK where he has discussions with the writers, he emphasized having always checked in with G.L.A.A.D. during the writing process. it's @29:00 in the video below if you want to hear his exact words: from the G.L.A.A.D. website "Our WorkLeading the conversation. Shaping the media narrative. Changing the culture. That’s how GLAAD accelerates acceptance for LGBTQ people."
  2. Oh, puh-lease! Being as Ms Blue Jay sat you down, Lea DeLaria... I haven't read or heard one single person state the thing they hold against Che is gender non-binary. status... to a person they state it's Che' s non-comedic status. Nor have I encountered anyone stating they dislike Miranda being with someone gender non-binary. Lea DeLaria is reaching straight up their own ass attempting to attribute some narrow-minded, hate fueled attitude as having colored the audience's judgement. Nope, EVERYONE objects to Miranda being portrayed as not having the decency to tell her partner of 20 years she wants to end her marriage and be free to pursue a different life...The f'ing nerve! @%#?$#&@. We object to the rewrite being done to the character, Miranda. We spent 6 years+ getting to know her as a decent thoughtful person who doesn't just kick people aside when she no longer has use for them. It's not our fault that MPK + the team can't write for shite. So ego driven are they, that they seek to include the experiences, traits and statuses of those in their own immediate circle in this what is supposed to be a SATC reboot. Because the writers and their experiences are just so interesting and important that they should supersede what we, the viewing audience tuned in for, right? MPK + the team can't even write when given a template... 6 years of established characters with a backstory, the series comes with the incalculable gift of a huge built-in fanatically loyal audience that MPK + the writers haven't even been able to repel with two horrendous moneygrabs masquerading as films. One worse than the other. All they had to do was show us where their lives took them over the last decade and a half. Any 4 posters here probably could have done a better job of it. At least we wouldn't have had to obliterate what was known and loved about the main characters to do it. ...and we'd have sprinkled in a bit of humor. here and there.
  3. Oh good, I'm glad I didn't do anything wrong. You are so right about Big probably not liking that artsy fartsy lightbox memorial whateveritwas. More importantly he'd probably much prefer his ashes to be: 1. WITH CARRIE, possibly with intentions of being interred or scattered together later 2. in a favorite place in NYC, the city where he made his fortune and attained his status 3. at the Napa vineyard if he found peace + beauty there 4. where he grew up [that's his brother who was at the memorial Carrie is telling " he died" in the promo possibly a familial burial plot / near mother + father etc. these writers 🙄 Did someone upthread say they saw Miranda with red hair in the meeting Che's grandmother scene? I didn't see it.
  4. IDK why the trailer isn't up? as far as I know there isn't any rule against posting it, right? Mods If you didn't want it posted yet, just remove (not that you need my permission.lol) Going to hide it under a spoiler tag, if possible
  5. Was it mentioned what Andre does for a living? Did I imagine him being a musician?
  6. Just think of how much better the writing could have been... AND Think of how much time there could have been saved for storytelling if everything to do with bodily functions could have been stricken from this whole premiere season!
  7. THANK YOU!
  8. Weren't those some great clothes she wore in that series (if you saw it)? I Googled right before I posted and info on her height and size varied wildly from site to site. Different links I encountered gave her height as 5.6, 5.7 and 5.8 and some of the sites with stats and photos look to be from an earlier time when she was considerably slimmer than she was on In Treatment s 4. In those photos I'd have guessed a 10, 12. photo on L is at gala to honor Hilary Clinton 2015. On R is from 2017 photo on L from 2021. on R doing a talk show appearance in 2021 to promote In Treatment:
  9. I wonder why LTW would've selected that outfit to paint in? It's expensive and she might bend over a pot or tray of paint and have brushes fall into them. I think she ended up taking care of lunch, right? ...but she didn't know she would be doing that when she went.
  10. This made British Vogue Safari Essential Kit Moschino Fall/winter 2021 jacket $1297.50 (was $2595.00) + shorts $575.00 (was $1150.00) https://www.moschino.com/us_en/safari-essential-kit-gabardine-jacket.html https://www.moschino.com/us_en/safari-essential-kit-gabardine
  11. You are so on point with all of this, especially the first sentence. I just watched the after show where Christian interviewed DiDi and Mimi. I knew Didi was exceptionally tall (even for a model ) and has a very narrow frame and is flat chested, but getting a close up look a Mimi... she is absolutely emaciated! I was quite surprised. Take any of those looks and put them on a 5'.5" woman who wears a size 10 and then we'll see if they look good? Of course the actual stats of the average woman in the USA 5'4" and size 16. The difficulty factor in conceiving designs and fitting them to models so tall with so few curves is a lot lower than if that were not the case and I think to keep pretending such is not the case is utter bullshit! It's like when it was figured out that taking a Barbie doll's proportions and scaling them up to human size would result in some freakishly tall person with an impossibly small waist large breasts and loooong legs... her waist would be 4" smaller than her head! That's why no matter how many different outfits you see Barbie in, she never looks dumpy. If your fashions for women have to be shown on people who are even taller and thinner than the average female fashion model to look good, I think you have a whole lot more to learn about designing and constructing clothes. Have we yet seen anyone make a properly fitted garment that looked well on a plus size i.e. real world woman? It's not impossible. Costume designer Tiffany Hasbourne made a whole season full of luxurious looks for actress Uzo Aduba who starred as Dr. Brooke Taylor in In Treatment season 4, and she is average height and I'm guessing wears a size 14, possibly 16. The costume designer didn't make a bunch of tent like dresses or lean heavily on black. There were jewel tones and shades of white, cream and pale gray. As I stated a thread or two ago, the best way to even the playing field and make it so everyone is answering the same challenge would be for each designer to have to show their looks on both a traditionally proportioned fashion model and a plus size one.
  12. Right? Samantha would never She had plenty of clients before Carrie ever got her little cupcake party and dusty book jacket! "I thought I was more than an ATM to her" 🙄delusions of grandeur and that wouldn't explain her not keeping in touch with Miranda and Charlotte.
  13. Thanks for filling me in Irlandesa, I think I fell asleep.
  14. Did anyone watch CN on Watch What Happens Live on 1/27/22? They took viewer's call in questions Q. What is your response to viewers of AJLT who say Miranda is becoming a version of Cynthia Nixon? A. Well, I think the writers take and introduce things from all of our lives, but Miranda is in the midst of a mid-life crisis... and I am not! [not exact wording, but as best I can remember it]
  15. He had a New York accent (Queens?) in the original series. He DID NOT speak like he had a speech impediment!
  16. I haven't seen Homeland but I was surprised when I looked at her IMBD by the fact that she was in Mississippi Marsala with Denzel Washington in 1991! I'm going to have to rewatch that as I can barely remember it now.
  17. Were I Che, I might relocate undercover of night if someone new I was seeing showed up acting and sounding as unhinged as Miranda did. Is Steve's jaw wired shut? WHY is he talking like that? Does no one on this show speak like a normal person? Seema is very stilted with her one liners, Charlotte is manic most of the time. I do not get it. No next episode promo when I watched
  18. OMG! 😄 The writers are out of ideas, and 90% of the ones they had sucked. Do you think if not for the "well, alright thanks" (paraphrasing), those fans would've continued naming people Che slept with? I actually teared up watching Carrie and the teacher. Could have done without the hysterics over the ring down the drain. At least she didn't scream. LTW. I love a good safari inspired look, but wtf was with the brushes tucked in to loops and pockets all over the garment? Was she about to paint faces or walls?
  19. I agree 1000% that what the AJLT writers are doing to the character Steve is a straight up travesty, making him appear as though he has some intellectual impairment just because he has need of hearing aids! That said, I always wondered why the writers seemed to dumb Steve down after that first meeting at the bar? He was working, reading a book and when Miranda got annoyed at his little yes-Steve thank you-Steve routine, she was about to leave and he begged her to stay and talk to him, lest he have to listen to college kids discuss Fiona Apple. Then not all that long after they start seeing each other he's disturbing her with Scooby Doo cartoons he's laughing along with, and then he's talking like winning a million bucks for making a basketball free throw at Madison Square Garden is in the bag. Steve fixed Miranda's TIVO so she could watch her favorite program, Jules and Mimi on the BBC. When they hadn't been together long Steve impulsively said to Miranda at a restaurant lets do it, lets have a kid. It turned out he couldn't even be responsible for the puppy they [he] got. It appeared to me the diminution of Steve Brady's intellect started way back then, but this? THIS is on a whole other level! In fairness to Miranda, Steve always credited her with encouraging him to buy his own bar. He said he wouldn't have done it otherwise. She also all but dragged him to a doctor when the poor guy had testicular cancer. She advised him against that experimental prosthesis, which he was about to jump at without getting all the facts. I think most people regard attorneys as highly intelligent to be able to remember tons of case law, write legal briefs and argue cases in court. She did get her law degree from Harvard, after all. Miranda was also on the tenant's board of the building where she bought her apartment, that's why she was interviewing Robert in the first place. So all in all I'd say the Miranda character was always smart, savvy and quick witted. I don't know who this new Miranda is! 🙄
  20. I honestly don't know whether to root for a second season or not? Being extremely generous given how much I hated getting the season rolling with sad distraught Carrie AGAIN, the shows have been getting better... I'd say once we got past ep 5. So would they find their stride by the end of this season and come back stronger in successive seasons? I ran across a video of Candace Bushnell being questioned about AJLT earlier. The interviewer was kind of soft peddling it, but he was asking why the characters are not necessarily acting as we would expect them to having gotten to know them over the years. She said it's a mistake to think of it as a reboot... I know, they're calling it a reboot, she said. it's not a reboot. It's actually a spinoff and they can do what they want with the characters. She also added SATC is one of HBO's most valuable properties and they're gonna keep using it to make money. She said something else I can't recall how she phrased it, that indicated MPK has it on lock and we [the audience] will never be rid of him.
  21. These dumbass writers forgot a box on their woke check list: don't confuse hearing loss with decreased intelligence
  22. I saw David Eisenberg in The Perfect Murder in 1998 which Sarita Choudhury (Seema) was also in and The Mothman Prophecy in 2002 and not since. I just looked at a clip and now I'm wondering why they have him playing Steve like some doddering old fool and speaking through clenched teeth like that? Why would they want to make someone with a deficit in one sense that's so easily remedied these days with hearing aids that are tiny appear as though ` he's intellectually impaired? Terrible!
  23. Well I know Saint Smith didn't make it out the movies, but are you saying you find Steve more attractive than Big? Also: I haven't seen David Eisenberg in years. They have him looking bad in this.
  24. I think I first heard of that on Oprah's favorite things show? maybe late 90's or early 2000's. Still haven't had one though.
  25. Not only did she seem unnecessarily shrill and bitchy in that movie... ...but I sympathize with Carrie and wonder how she could've been happily married to a man for 15 years who only settled on her after a decade of dating and relationships with other women? One a whole marriage! I can't imagine how she wouldn't think of that often.
