  1. I'm the same, he seems like a nice guy from what I've seen of him, but I'm not a huge fan of any of the books of his I've read (Good Omens, Neverwhere, The Graveyard Book), I didn't mind American Gods so much. I did like his Doctor Who episode though
  2. An interview with Cassandra Clare where she talks about adaptions of her work https://tmisource.com/2017/01/24/cassandra-clare-talks-about-the-challenges-of-film-and-tv-adapatations/ At one point she says: "People involved in the first season, who are now gone from the show (people know the showrunner left, but not that many of the writers, crew, and even execs also left—basically a whole team left) described a female character of mine to me as “just tits and ass” and told me no one wanted to see a gay character onscreen with a man so a woman would be introduced for him to spend most of his time with. She was described to me as his “soulmate.” " I'm glad they got a lot of crew for Season 2
  3. Clary's "it's inside of her" when she and Alec run into possessed!Izzy was kind of bad, but I agree it's definitely getting better. Can't believe they killed Jocelyn though. When they said a Shadowhunter was going to die I was expecting it to be Lydia or the guy Magnus threw across the room last episode. The Jace plot is still my favourite part and I liked the scenes in the prison. Can't believe they killed Hodge as well
  4. Book 2 is still my favourite. I'm liking the season so much more than the last one, the writing's better and the acting's definitely improved. I really liked this episode. Lots of Jace. Maia was awesome and I really liked that scene in Magnus' loft
  5. I admit, I have a soft spot for Aaron Taylor Johnson, as I loved him as Quicksilver in the 2nd Avengers movie, but yeah, his whole relationship with his wife creeps me out.
  6. The Wire for me, I want to like it, because I've heard so many good things about it, but I've tried it 3 times, and never made it past the sixth episode
  7. Jocelyn calling Jace a "flower killing monster" was hilarious. I'm liking Season 2 a lot better than Season 1 so far, especially the Jace and Valentine stuff
  8. Whoops, that's what I meant! I was a little bit excited to finally see new footage
  9. Season 2 trailer! https://www.facebook.com/Sense8TV/videos/578156619043962/
  10. Same, I have no interest in Bucky, and to go one step forward, I have no interest in Steve either. Clint and the Maximoff twins are my favourites
  11. Season 2 trailer is out, and it looks........ good?? https://tmisource.com/2016/10/08/shadowhunters-debuts-season-2-trailer/ I do love the books, but the first season was kind of disappointing for me. This trailer has given me a little bit of hope
  12. I loved Ken Leung on Lost. There's also Harry Shum Jr
  13. Shadowhunters isn't a Netflix original. It airs on Freeform in the US
  14. See, the original did nothing for me. I saw it when I was a kid, and I again when I was older, I thought it was alright, but nothing special. I guess it could be a generational thing (I was born in '89), but The Lost Boys is my favourite film and that was made in '87. But I did love the remake, I heard quite a few people say they liked it more than the original, some said they preferred the original. Some people thought it was funny, some people didn't. I hated the Lost Boys sequel (the first one anyway, never saw the second sequel) which was largely a reboot/sequel with a different cast and pretty much the same storyline - but I'm sure it has its fans. If people see the new one first and like it, they might check out the original, then that's great. More fans. I'm glad the new Ghostbusters exists and I'm glad I saw it. And that a whole new generation can watch it and become fans. I hope it leads to a rise in little girls dressed as Ghostbusters. It was amazing going to conventions after the new Star Wars, and seeing lots of little girls dressed up as Rey! (Also full length jumpsuit female Halloween costumes! http://www.halloweencostumes.co.uk/women-s-deluxe-ghostbusters-movie-costume.html)
  15. Apparently Buffy was the first show to use "Google" as a verb. https://books.google.ie/books?id=IXiYi-dQenEC&pg=PA48&hl=en#v=onepage&q&f=false
  16. That bolded part is the whole issue, and it's so frustrating. Working in a cinema I've seen many films open to empty cinemas. Cinema going varies depending on many factors especially with the weather and the time. One of the tickets in the article said 5.30, which is usually a quieter time for us, because of people coming home from work and whatnot. The first advance preview we had of the new Ice Age movie had 5 people in it. And we had no-one in the first showing of the new Independence Day movie. Even Secret Life of Pets had a very quiet opening weekend at our cinema, as did Captain America: Civil War - and that's the highest grossing movie of the year apparently. As for Ghostbusters, on the first night, the two earlier showings were fairly quiet, but the later one, which I was in was about 2/3rds full. I really hope we get a sequel
  17. When it was announced, I didn't have much interest in the Ghostbusters reboot - I was never a fan of the original, and while I watched the cartoon (the one with Kylie in it - Extreme Ghostbusters?), but I liked the cast and the trailers and wanted to give it a shot. But after months and months of people whining and complaining about how much it's gonna suck, how it shouldn't be made, how it's not going to be the same 'because them being women just didn't seem right', I feel weirdly protective over this film, not sure how to explain it. I saw it the first chance I got and I really liked it. I don't usually rate stuff on IMDB, but I made sure I rated this. I don't post here very often - mostly just lurk, but I posted my mini review here, as well as on Tumblr and a couple of other places, and I've been recommending it to people in the cinema, and it just annoys me that it's getting such low ratings on IMDB and other places by people who have never seen it and just hate it because they hate it. The Lost Boys has been my favourite film since I was a kid and when I saw there was a sequel years later, with pretty much the same storyline with a whole new cast, I was apprehensive, and I watched it and it sucked, but it didn't take away from the original. I still love the original just as much as I did. I wish people could give it a shot and judge it as a film rather than just automatically hating it because of it's existence. Sorry that that was a bit long and rambly, but it's late and I just have a lot of feelings that I wanted to express about this film and things surrounding it
  18. I work in a cinema and everyone I've spoken seems to have enjoyed it. I asked two little boys if they liked it - they both did and one replied "yeah, who doesn't." which was nice to hear ETA: Just seen this review which I really liked (just ignore the comments): http://collider.com/ghostbusters-review/
  19. So I saw this last night, and I loved it. The whole cast is so good particularly Kate McKinnon. I'll definitely see it again
  20. Oh no, so sad. He was so good in Criminal Minds and Fright Night
  21. Aw, I didn't realise that liking Lincoln was unpopular, I've always liked him too
  22. Tanc Sade (Finn) posted a nice picture of himself, Alexis and Kelly Bishop https://twitter.com/TancSade/status/710562270619631616?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
  23. It's been renewed for Season 2!! https://www.shadowhunterstv.com/article/shadowhunters-season-2-freeform-picks-up-shadowhunters-for-a-second-season
  24. In the Pilot, didn't she accidentally make her food (biscotti?) disappear into the page of her sketchbook when she and Simon were in the coffee house?
