  1. I'm done with episode 3 now. There's a lot of things that I like, even though the series is so very different from the original Winx Club. But there are also many things that I dislike. Some first thoughts: The writing is really off sometimes. There's so many weird scenes! And I can't even tell you how hard I cringed when they said the word "mansplain" twice in the first episode for no reason... what was that about? Whitewashing!!! But we knew that already. I still have hope that they'll bring Flora back for season 2. When Terra shares her insecurities, the others ignore it and don't try to lift her up. Why is Stella such a bitch? I mean, yes, she's self-centered but she also always cares about her friends? Also, her outfits are sooo boring. Stella and Sky?? Ugh. Where is Brandon? I love Beatrix, would've loved to see a trio of witches tho. I like Bloom, but she also seems a little off, angry for no reason other than "I'm a fire fairy, that's why!" And... WHERE ARE THE WINGS? You "evolved"? Ok, then why did you call the series Winx?
  2. LOL, that line about Burt eating his twin in the womb was so out of the blue and random 😄 I loved Bonnie's reaction to it. I liked that Bonnie was there for Jill, just like Jill was there for her in that one episode when she was spying on Adam. Their scene in the car when Jill tells Bonnie that it takes 5 penises to get over a guy still makes me smile when I think of it. Also, congrats on the promotion, Wendy ❤️
  3. It was mentioned in season 1 that they became friends because of their kids, they attended the same school. So they know each other for 6-7 years I guess.
  4. This episode was better than last week's thank god. I loved Sheila's line about make-up being the one thing that separates us from the beasts, kinda funny. The scenes with the therapist were good too. The B-plot with the café workers was horrible though.
  5. What a weak episode. Not one funny moment. What were they thinking?
  6. The show creator said in this interview that Daphne will always be a part of the show. They will simply expand her storyline in creative ways.
  7. I like the style of the write-up they made for the announcement. Very on point.
  8. I just started today, and gosh, It was hard to put it down. I agreed with myself that I will read 10-15 pages a day...instead I was able to tear myself apart from it at page 50. It's just really well-written.
  9. The scenes with just Bob and Abishola on their bench continue to be charming. I wish we got more of them.
  10. I really liked the Gemma - Dave plot in this episode. It was so true to life and relatable, and it is always refreshing when for once Dave is not paired with Calvin in a storyline. It was cute how enthusiastic both of them were, and the "we just went to a party last week. we were just chaperones at Grover's school dance" joke cracked me up.
  11. I was continually amazed by the actress's performance - she is really good. I feel somewhat sorry for Lady Featherton. She is not particularly a more evil person than the average person in the series, she is just faced with more difficult challenges than most other participants of the story - yet she continues soldiering on with lots of creativity. She has to live in a loveless marriage, she has unpopular daughters, then she has to take in a ruined hussie who takes away the attention from her daughters and brings shame to her family, her husband pushes her in debts...she is doing the best she can through the series but she is pushed from one impossible situation to another.
  12. I have a question. When it starts raining during Daphne's ball, everyone runs to find shelter from the water - except for Daphne herself -, who stands joyously in the downpour, letting the water hit her. Now, I am sure the makers of the series wanted to convey something with this, but it is totally lost on me what it was. It was interesting, isn't doing that considered a foolish act and therefore unacceptable? Yet her society friends smiled at it, they found it endearing for some reason. One of the Featherton girls even wanted to join her, before she was stopped. Why? What was going on there? I don't get it.
  13. Well...that was disappointing. I had hope after last week's episode, which was charming. But this one was worse. I saw the attempts at being funny, but not one joke landed. They definitely relied too heavily on the underwear jokes which were not funny for the first time, they didn't need to use them like 4 more times in the episode. I did like that Kat was smart with the guy who came up to her at the hotel and tricked him to find out what "her" magazine was about. But other than that...please get better.
  14. I have to say, upon re-watch, the "Franklin serves as Anna-Kat's lawyer" bit is pretty funny.
  15. We got a longer than usual promo for today's episode. I hope all of you are ready to be lectured and preached at for 20 minutes.
  16. I agree with Katy. Making fun of Greg is best when they do it as a family. The Taylor foot fetish joke was quite unexpected 😮 How Is Katy okay with that. I liked the family resemblances in this episode. Taylor messed with Greg like Katy did with Oliver, and she loves music like Greg. It's nice to see where she gets it from.
  17. I only saw bits and pieces of it yet, but that showed promise. I love all the self-deprecating humor. It's great to have another promising comedy show on the horizon with so many series being put on hold and receiving shortened seasons lately.
  18. It's a kid's movie first and foremost. I read theories about why Joe should have stayed dead. But. A large amount of people were already mad because "for once we had a cartoon protagonist who is black and yet he spent half the movie being a cat". Now imagine if he also died in the end. The twitter social justice warrior would have a faux outrage festival over it and Pixar would have received lots of criticism.
  19. It was pretty funny when Abishola imitated her aunt in front of Bob. Slowly but surely, she is becoming more easy-going around him. About the communication issues...I see where both of them were coming from. In every relationship, there are kinks that need to be worked out, for them it's how they exchange information. I thought Kemi did a good job of explaining things to Bob, she is a good friend.
  20. The joke about Gemma's sisters having stolen the bracelet years ago was pretty funny 🙂 . It's nice how Calvin is slowly developing a better opinion about Dave, in this episode he said if there is a serial killer around, he hopes Dave will be near by too.
  21. First COVID, now this. Superstore taking on every single social issue under the sun one episode at a time!
  22. Lots of people think that Blond hair is aging, making the person seem more mature than they really are. Maybe this is what is affecting your perception.
  23. Parents are a lot more protective nowadays. Specially Delia. She talks into Wade / Michelle's business as well, and when it's about her child she actually has a right to be like that. Remember the episode when she was annoyed at Addie because she didn't stand in the shadow? 😄 That was funny, but most parents don't pay attention to things like that.
  24. I really liked this episode, the scenes where Jill was getting along with the girls were so much fun. Please be renewed.
