I'm on these "young fans" you describe. I have read all of the books. Multiple times. But when discussing the show, I am not going to constantly compare it to the source material, because the fact is, the series took many artistic liberties. The expansion of the world is a real joy to watch, but it also gives less reason to reference the books, since with the many changes it is harder to predict what will actually happen.

What do you mean "she only gets one". I listed 3 very distinct and important storylines with Marjorie in my comment. That is more than 1. She had a lot of focus on her but there is only so much you can do. And obviously, she will not get the same focus as Bonnie who is a main character. As for Wendy being an archetype, she is very obviously the Jerry of the show (from parks and recreation). The part of the friend group who is often dismissed & the butt of the joke. That is what she is there for, so I don't think that will change.

But the thing is, it completely doesn't matter what kind of improvements Christie made. In fact, it is 100% totally irrelevant. She still ruined Violet's childhood which has huge consequences for the rest of her life. As someone who experienced very similiar issues to Violet, I completely understand where she was coming from. Like who cares if Christie is now sober? Why couldn't she do it while Violet was a kid?

From what I remember, when Oliver plots to get money in creative ways, his plans actually always work out. It's just that when his parents discover what he has been up to, he is forced to return / give up the money or stop the project. Like, he successfully made friends with Spencer, he had that fake phone location business, and selling the off-brand shirts. All were successes to a point until the parents interfered.

I saw 2 minutes of previews, based on that seems like it will be a good episode. Although Marty does look stupid in the dungeons and dragons magician hat, it's just an invitation for someone to tease him about it.

I liked this episode. Poor Taylor with the eggs. It was a super easy task to cook them...

I would say she was out of character, but not in a good way. They are just showing her evolution into being more like a normal person but thanks no thanks, we don't want to see it.

It was mentioned last season that Honey became pregnant again surprisingly early after giving birth. It happened in the episode where Honey and Louis try to get fit.

Did you guys hear about the exciting upcoming plot elements for the final season?

Guys...he IS going to therapy. That is the plot of the second episode of the first season 🙂 His friends encouraged him to date because many women were salivating over him and he simply didn't notice. And you know the saying....you get over someone by getting under someone else. So I understand what the friend group was trying to do, and it is not the only way they try to get him out of the rut he is in.

I hope Mateo doesn't come back to the store. He is a genuinely bad person and his meanness is not funny. Besides, we have so many other characters who can easily take his place. Mateo can be a semi-recurring character like Bo who shows up 2-3 times per season and that will be enough.

I think this show shows a lot of promise. Let's face it: Pilot episodes are never the best thing a show is able to offer. But this one was passable. I am curious about how it all unfolds!

What would you have them do with Marjorie, Jill and Wendy? Marjorie's storyline is pretty much wrapped up, if you think about it: she defeated cancer, got re-married, cared for and buried her husband, fixed her relationship with her estranged son. Like what else is there to do? She is there to be the voice of wisdom in the group so Christy has someone to turn to. Jill had a the weight struggles, adoption storyline, and it was mentioned that she has a boyfriend so I am sure that will come into play later on. And Wendy was always the character who gets the least amount of attention. She didn't even have her own introduction episode, she just appeared out of the blue one day. I think it will be funny to see Bonnie in the role of a mentor. But what I would really like to see, is an appearance from Roscoe. We did not see Christie's son in a long time, and his budding battle with addiction storyline was never wrapped up.

The budding Josie/Billy love story is just adorable so far. I hope we will get to see it bloom further.

If she is "forced to confront new realities", then I have to think they changed the story of Anne's parents from the books, where they were simply incredibly poor. I am guessing in this version they died under more sinister circumstances.
