Is that a new art style

S3EP5: oh wow, this episode was so good. FIrst of all, I love that the self-deprecating voice is back. It's fascinating and it was so heartfelt watching the end of the episode, and how Sheila fought against her own inner turmoil, trying to make things better. I loved her scenes with Breem, and also with Carlos. I was shocked she was honest with him about what happened. Of course she kept the fact that she went on another eating binge a secret, which means she will do it again. Shockingly, even Danny's scenes were okay. I like that the backstory provided by his sister makes his character and behavior make more sense.

So I guess that's how Sheila will win, Vinny dies, and Deschanel's character doesn't really like exercise so she will leave the business when she gets a different opportunity. So then Sheila can go on to dominate that niche in the exercise market.

Oh wow this looks really good honestly.

The Other Black Girl - General Discussion

Looks promising. I'll check this out once it drops. -
S3EP4: Wow, this episode was really good. I love that Danny / Breem were not in it at all, all the focus was on Sheila. As it should be. I am not sure what exactly freaked her out so much on stage, but it was interesting to see her relapse and be led astray by her competition. I am not sure where they are going with Vinny's illness (I guess he has cancer?) but I am sure they are building towards something.

S3EP3: Wow, I loved the scene where Sheila owned her nastiness in front of Danny. "This is who I have always been. I just didn't let you see it". That was so empowering. I started just skipping the scenes with Breem. I literally do NOT care about his wife or family drama. But at least in this episode most of the focus was on Sheila and not the secondary characters, which is where the show shines. If I saw correctly, the Italian guy fed Sheila a simple salted tomato. While that is flavorful, it is not THAT good 😄. The scene where she told Greta about meeting him was so cute though🥰

Agreed with the casting mishap here. Zooey Deschanel is just not pretty enough to be a realistic nemesis for Sheila even if it's in her head, and that blonde wig they make her wear looks ridiculous. Like okay I get that it's a manifestation of Sheila's insecurities but still, they could have chosen a better actress...I sure do hope she won't be sticking around for long. Danny still gets too much screen time, specially in the second episode, and I hope to god it will lead somewhere since we know the writers knew this was going to be the final season, but for now it's just a bunch of nothing. I loved the scene with Sheila in therapy, that was good.

With that ending, they must be very confident about a season 4 renewal, which surprised me because I never saw a show being aired in such a strange way, years after it's filmed. It's like the network owning the rights does not care about it at all.

Actually, the entire season did. I am halfway through, and wow, it's heavy heavy...I love how complex the cases they give to Abigail this season are. The show really upped it's writing.

Che and Miranda are 100% getting back together.

Finally.

Season 3 trailer is here. I don't like that they gave Sheila a rival and it seems that that will be a big focus through the final season. What set this show apart was Sheila's self-hateful inner monoluge and there is none of that in here. It's so weird when a show writer doesn't understand what made their own show good

The airing schedule for this show is out of the world👨🦲

So what would you guys say, is this worth watching? Looking at the comments on here, it doesn't seem like the reception is too positive.

Survival Of The Thickest - General Discussion
Harvey replied to Door County Cherry's topic in Survival Of The Thickest
Based on the title I expected something waaaaay different 🙈. But the premise is interesting enough. -
Wow, what a finale. Watching it, I totally buy that they wanted to wrap the series here, HR complaints notwithstanding. It was really nice to see that Cary finally got the character development (and humbling experiences) he needed, and that he found a new group to connect with in the end, but now he will be able to be a better friend and be there for people more. And his career is also on track. I also liked the scene when he cried after he realized how insensitive he has been to MacKenzie, they played that so well. Lucas being married all along was super shocking. Brooke's storyline was really cool. And I LOVED her last line! The show has been going on and on about "doing good" and "being good" the whole season and it sounded so inane, but in that last scene, it just worked and made so much sense. Her talk with Lance where he opened up to her about his job was also very well-written. Overall this show has been amazing and they really stuck the landing with this finale. I look forward to seeing the writer duo's upcoming project.

Sad, but not surprising at all.

I can see that, Thor has a rough exterior but he is actually quite kind from time to time. And this is in line with Robyn (the character Thor is based on from the original series) where he is often portrayed as surprisingly intelligent considering the simple times he lived in.

This show's take on Brokeback Mountain / those scenes between Cary and his boyfriend were weirdly fascinating. So raw. The kid saying "yes, yes rescue me daddy!!!" to Lance while he carried him out was so funny 😆 I'm very curious to see how they wrap it up next week.

Also the season 3 release date is December 14.

Some interesting insight from the actor playing Curtis about the conflict he had with Carey this season. It seems their friendship is over. The whole interview is very good https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/the-other-two-brandon-scott-jones-curtis-cary-fight-renfield-ghosts-1235510974/

With just 2 episodes left in the season, I wonder where they are taking these stories. With Pat, she will get back together with Streeter, that much has been obvious since the first second of their break-up. And it seems she will still want to be "normal", because in the S3 trailer there are still scenes that we did not see, it seems that there will be a scene where Cary, Pat and Brooke go back to their Ohio days The logical conclusion for Pat would be to just accept her new normal and make the best of it, but we'll see. With Brooke, once again it has been obvious that she and Lance will get back together, and the scene at 1:38 is their reunion I guess, so Brooke will probably have some big realization about "doing good" and the value of what she does for work and maybe even learns to show up for Lance in the way he asked her to, and then they will be together again. With Carey, we have the least clues. In the latest episode he realized that he can achieve his goals, and still be unhappy, and he is mad about that. The answer would be to find fulfillment through human connection (what the show also tried to imply through showing friendship as an important thing), or to find happiness within with who he is as a person, more self-acceptance, because right now he looks for a lot of external validation and as soon as he doesn't get it he feels bad. A big part of this is also that his relationship with the method acting guy is very one-sided. I've been reading that there is a good chance we are not getting a season 4, so I want them to give satisfying conclusions to these storylines.

Cary's song went on way too long and I don't get why all the successful returnees had to be gay. And then he sang again. Just why?
