  1. When you're trying to "get back" at someone a year after the incident happened, to me that means Candiace was living in Ashley's head that entire time, that Candiace had that power over Ashley. Also Ashley was in Candiace's home, after Candiace had told her to leave and Ashley came back.
  2. Sadly that attitude exists with men too. I've been on many vacations and the Americans are always wondering why these "foreigners" (mind you, we're in their country) don't do things the way they do in the USA. 🤢 It's one thing to be concerned, it's another thing to rescue a grown adult from their own situation.
  3. Very true. If Ari were on heroin, her parents would buy it for her.
  4. Monique wants to make sure she has a storyline next season. The "Lazy Moms" podcast doesn't seem to be as interesting. Or, maybe she wants to secure a job on Basketball Wives since physical fighting is the norm on that show.
  5. The only reason I don't feel that way about Karen is that she came from a small town where her family seemed pretty influential. Yes, but I think Ashley thinks the other women look down on her because of her background. I wasn't the one who made this statement. I don't believe that saying "good night" over and over again is justification for attacking someone. I've commented on why I think Monique has so many fans on SM, but I'll state it again: Some black people have issues with: Light skinned women Biracial women Black women married to white men. Monique is a brown skinned woman married to a black man. Monique also seems to be aware of her privilege while Candiace doesn't seem to be aware of hers.
  6. There is no justification for violence if you are not being attacked. Someone saying, "Good night!" isn't a justification for attacking someone IMO.
  7. Ari's parents are like many in my generation, they think shit is just as easy as it was when they were young. Nope, not in the US, and especially not in Ethiopia! But how much do you want to bet that Ari's parents will wind up taking care of Avi.
  8. I think if Jenny were a millionaire Sumit's parents wouldn't give a fuck about how old she is. I fucking HATE Ari's parents, from my generation, two entitled boomers who don't realize that when THEY were young, your salary could actually pay your expenses with no problem, and people actually could work their way through college. Bini is doing the best he fucking can. Ari wanted to have a Disney fantasy but reality is kicking her in the ass. Ari's parents are like parents of drug addicts who provide their children with dope because they're afraid.
  9. I can't stand Ashley, but as I said on the other thread, I think Ashley relates to Monique the most. Gizelle, Robyn and Candiace have parents who are professionals; Karen's family seems to be quite influential in her town and we know Wendy has 4 degrees. I think Ashley sees Monique as a kindred spirit, both of them married wealthy men and are dealing with that. Ashley probably feels that the other women look down on her.
  10. I agree. I think Ashley feels close to Monique because (and this is speculation) they're from the same place. Candiace, Gizelle and Robyn have parents who are professionals, Karen's family seemed to be quite influential in the town where Karen grew up, Wendy...well she has 4 degrees! Maybe Ashley senses that the other women look down on her because she doesn't have the education or the family background. Maybe she sees Monique as kind of like her, a woman who lucked out and married a wealthy man.
  11. Well, she's got 6 thousand subscribers, YAY. They sound like two selfish pigs to me.
  12. I don't think so, not in the real world. Kevin would have married ANY woman who became pregnant by him.
  13. I think Ari had a romantic fantasy about having her baby in Ethiopia, without realizing that she would be having her baby in Ethiopia. Compare her to Tiffany, who married a South African (with a serious gambling addiction) and got pregnant. Though she was pretty delusional herself, she changed her tune pretty quickly when she saw the condition of the hospital where she would have her baby. Ronald didn't have much money so she was like, "no thanks" and came back to the USA and had her baby.
  14. I find it interesting and disturbing that Jen is going after the only black woman on the show. Which is interesting and disturbing since she's married to a black man and has two sons who, though biracial, look black.
  15. There is a Mormon temple right in the middle of Harlem, it's a very beautiful building.
  16. So I guess, if a young woman wants to get married, why bother dating? Just get pregnant and the guy will want to move in with you (if there's a pandemic) and ask to marry you...in less than six months.
  17. There was a time people weren't too happy about "Ms." True, but it's a unicorn. The problem is many young women look at stuff like that and think it's possible, when it's only possible about .5% of the time. Kind of like the movie "Pretty Woman."
  18. In Manhattan the grand jury sits in something like an small arena, you're elevated. The ADA and witnesses are like lower than where you're sitting. Think of a lecture hall, just a bit smaller.
  19. And Ray would probably dump Mole...I mean Karen. 😁
  20. Interesting promo. Can't wait for the new season!😁
  21. I really, really, really don't like the Kevin/Madison relationship. I think it's a stupid destructive romantic fantasy: Look, you can get pregnant by a hot actor you barely know and BOOM, he'll magically fall in love with you while the two of you live together because of a global pandemic. Probably not going to happen in real life, maybe 1% but that's it. However Kevin. I think Kevin has a romantic fantasy of his own, to meet "the one" and to have a relationship like Jack and Rebecca or Randall and Beth. Maybe the relationship with Madison is teaching Kevin that it romance doesn't have to happen a "certain way." Maybe he and Madison will realize they really don't know each other, but at least Kevin is open to the possibility that love can happen in all kinds of ways.
  22. I don't think Noah was concerned about Olivia's work; the only reason he was interested was because other children were viewing the video of the arrest that was probably on YouTube. I think the "woke-ness" of the show has more to do with the pandemic. Because our distractions (movies, shows, bars, restaurants, get togethers) have been taken away or reduced, people have become laser focused on other things. I really don't think there would have been so many protests all over the world after George Floyd's murder, had there not been a pandemic. And this show, like all the other Law & Orders got the grand jury, wrong, wrong wrong. The jurors themselves can't ask questions. You have to ask the ADA if you can ask the question.
  23. I think the harsh punishment was because it was on social media. As for teachers and social media, I remember a few years ago when this happened.
  24. Southern Charm takes place in the American South. RHOA and RHOP have addressed politics.
