  1. The commercial about getting your kid off their cell phone. Que sad music, parent sitting at the table during what looks like breakfast, teen girl is staring at her phone screen. You can't see the mom's face, but the voiceover is saying, "You've talked and talked (asked, pleaded) but still they won't get off their phone." Clearly the narrator is getting across the fact that parent is very concerned. Dad walks up and gives girl juice and then sits down at the table, teen doesn't acknowledge him and continues to stare at screen. Sheesh! Who is in control here? Especial at the table, you ask/tell once, then take the phone away. Who is paying for the damned phone? Not the kid who looks to be maybe 14-15, if that. How about actually parenting, then you won't need to join/contribute to some organization dedicated to getting kids off phones. OK, I am old but I cannot imagine ignoring my parents rules/requests/orders that way ... and if I had there would be consequences. I guess there are none in this particular family, hence the problem.
  2. I seem to remember an old sitcom storyline where the husband forgot to mail the invitations to a party - a party that was held AT HOME. Ha ha, funny funny. I guess. THIS anniversary party was being held in a very upscale restaurant in NYC. The catering/events person would undoubtedly contact the party giver to get an accurate count of who is attending a few days before the dinner. They need to know how much food to prepare! How many servers! It's kind of insulting the way they played this out, but I find that in many aspects of this series. I wish Miranda had died instead of Big. They could have showed how they worked through their grief at the loss of their friend. Cynthia Nixon has ruined the show for me. Miranda is a hot mess.
  3. Exactly! It looks so uncomfortable.
  4. NJ to Orlando: She was practical, he wanted a big house with a pool, on the water and room for his pool table. Should have had a drinking game for every time he said "pool table." The realtor showed them a house $100K OVER their budget, because the seller was motivated to sell. She was hugely pregnant (more about that) with the second child and wanted the primary bedroom to be on same floor as the children. I agree with her. She allowed him to put the pool table in the dining room of the house they chose. Really? I guess people have their priorities. Pet peeve of mine - as I mentioned she was pregnant, and why did she have to keep holding her belly? In every shot. I know I didn't walk around with my hands on my "bump" when I was pregnant, but then I was also pregnant in the days before women squeezed themselves into skin-tight clothes when pregnant.
  5. Why do some people want to live in the same style of house they grew up in? As in, I grew up in a ranch so that's what I want to live in now. I mean, I can see liking a particular style, but so often a house hunter is adamant that they want the same kind of house they lived in as a child. I don't get it.
  6. Per her Instagram account, Sarah Eggar and her husband and baby are moving back to Amsterdam and she will be resuming her filming on HHI. I always enjoyed watching her episodes.
  7. They had to be one of the most annoying - stupid - couples on HH, especially the selfish husband. He works from home? How is that going to work with a stay-at-home mom and baby in that shoebox? And babies and toddlers take naps and go to bed. Good luck putting a baby down with the adults there in the room doing whatever it is they do. OK, so they ended up not buying anything so I guess all the comments were just "schtick" -- I swear I thought more than once I could NEVER, EVER be married to a jerk like that guy.
  8. If she doesn't like talking about her friends, she should make it known at their pre-show meeting where they discuss the topics they are going to cover. It just rubs me the wrong way. She slumps over, rolls her eyes, looks at the audience as if to say she is totally bored. Meanwhile the others continue with their lively discussion and she sits and pouts. So rude.
  9. I am SO very tired of seeing Whoopi slumped over, rolling her eyes and looking bored when the topic doesn't interest her. I'm talking about the segment of Pacino becoming a father at his age. The other ladies brought up some good points, had a good discussion, but Whoopi made it clear she couldn't care less. Sorry, that is just plain rude and bad manners. If any of the others did that, they would look as rude and ill-mannered as Whoopi does. I enjoy the political talk but also like the celebrity dishing. Guess what, that is what The View is about. Again, can you imagine if Alyssa sat slumped over and rolled her eyes when Whoopi was talking? She would probably be gone. If Whoopi is bored, if the show is beneath her, she needs to leave. She doesn't look "cute" or funny - she looks like she has very bad manners. If she isn't in control, doesn't have the center stage, she isn't interested. Wow. She takes some of the pleasure out of watching the show for me.
  10. San Francisco couple - when she asked what was "fancier" quartz or marble, it was positively cringe-worthy. She is a perfect example of how money can't buy class. How her husband can live with her is beyond me. Imagine living your life and your goal is to impress people. It's really pretty sad when you think about it, but she was very unlikeable.
  11. I agree that Sara seems to be irritating lately. And regarding Whoopi not wearing underwear - I would have been fine if I had never heard that. Now I can't look at her without thinking it. I don't get the no underwear thing. They make good underwear that is light and feels very comfortable. And if you don't wear underwear, then I sure hope you are washing whatever clothes you are wearing after each and every wearing. Just because she has stopped having periods, as she pointed out, doesn't mean there aren't going to be little dribs and drabs of whatever during the day. Sorry if TMI.
  12. I wondered the same thing. Does he have some sort of medical issue? It was rather distracting.
  13. Sunny is especially irritating this morning with her YELLING and loud guffawing. She's obnoxious. What is with her, anyway? Alex and Katie have nice normal voices and they don't run around the kitchen screaming.
  14. Have they completely done away with the guests hugging each person at the table? If so, I think that's a good thing. It takes up time and is sometimes awkward. I know yesterday it was mentioned and someone (Joy?) said they didn't do it because of Covid, but they were doing it before this, so ...
  15. I'm sorry, I found that disgusting. Maybe she is ok with using the same toilet seat as a cat, but now anyone who visits her will know, which maybe is a good thing. Would not use her bathroom. Does the cat flush?
  16. I don't think I can sit through another season watching Charity dabbing at her tears/face and then looking at her finger to see what she dabbed. Pet peeve of mine - it's like blowing your nose in public and then looking at the tissue to see what you blew. Speaking of tissues - don't they have any? Just lightly blot your tears with a tissue and move on! This dabbing thing drives me CRAZY! I wish it had been Ariel. She seems so confident and self-assured. Charity seems vulnerable, damaged, still hurting over past relationships, not really ready to enter another one. I guess she belongs to the school of thought that once she finds the right person she will be healed, or whatever.
  17. Sara's orange dress today was simply awful. The color, the style, everything. It did her no favors. I've never followed Paris Hilton. She does seem to genuinely love her husband and her baby, but her story about being in the abusive school(s) seems off to me. So her parents never visited her in person, she had no opportunity to talk to them other than on the telephone, which was monitored? What kind of parent allows that? I'm not saying she is not saying the truth, I just can't understand. Has this kind of thing been going on at these so-called schools and I have just never heard of it?
  18. Kind of funny when she asked him who he was wearing and his said, I don't know I forget - I guess my tailor. LOL
  19. Will they have to change it from "Live from the Red Carpet!" to "Live from the Beige Carpet!"
  20. Savannah tested positive for Covid during the first hour and left.
  21. I enjoy the scenes with Mirren and Ford, but the rest of the program - it's really hard for me to watch. The continuous beating of the women - it's just too much. The show is just so depressing. I want to see how it ends, but truthfully I am glad this season is done. Maybe it's not for me. When I watch "All Creatures Great and Small" I get a good feeling that stays with me. I know they are completely different programs and I know it's a choice.
