Me too. I don't know if she knows that though.

I'm glad Helen blew up at Wendy. Getting rid of Sue was the right call, and they were ridiculously at risk for blowing up and spilling it all in front of her. Fantastic reaction shot by Charlotte when Erin planted one on the brother. Uh oh. That look on Helen's face when Ben started yelling. I don't want to be on the end of that look. After 8 episodes, they could have lost this entire storyline and the show would have been fine. I guess the point is that everything affecting them puts on undue risk, but I already knew that so it's not like it added anything.

At first I thought it was vanilla extract, but that seemed like an even dumber thing for her to do.

I changed my locks when I moved into my house.

I tend to think Wendy has resigned herself to the fact that they're in this for life, so might as well be a big shot than get beaten into the ground. I think it's naive of Marty to think they can just walk away. Wendy is right to buy the hotels, etc., to insulate themselves somewhat, but the criminal life certainly does excite her.

I certainly want Ruth and the Byrdes to get away with it all, and this FBI guy with the vendetta is pushing so hard he's going to end up helping them out. I'm surprised this hasn't dawned on Helen. Their goal here is to dirty up the FBI. Ruth makes Marty get all fucking Scarface! Helen must get really pissed off having to put out all these fires though. She probably wants to just whack everyone.

I'm literally watching this right now.

I was hoping that coming back from Mexico would spur Marty and Wendy to get back on the same page and kind of clear the table. That was one blockbuster of an opener. Though I have to agree with Wendy that Cade had to go. I'm getting back to the point that Darlene being alive strains the credulity of the show. I mean, sure drug cartels make deals, but mainly because they want to make money. She's not doing anything but being an annoyance. They should be able to make her disappear quite easily. I mean, she's going to order the cop around just like that. Sure. Charlotte continues to impress. She handled the whole thing at the lake as best as she could. I feel like the plot with the brother is kind of tacked on at this point to just throw something at Ruth. Her having to deal with the mob and learn to run the casino and clean is interesting enough for me. And throw whatever is the deal with Wyatt. Not for nothing, for someone who doesn't want Ruth's dirty money, he's fine with growing poppies.

If a married couple is on the out, it's always the wife that kicks the husband out. And he ends up in some shitty apartment.

First of all, that guy needs to be taken out. Second, why bring only one? I think Murtagh had to die unfortunately. Being such a force for the regulators, with the loss, they were going to want to keep fighting until they all got killed. I don't think he could have convinced everyone to just let it go. How old is Murtagh supposed to be? I mean, you figure surviving Culloden, making it all the way to the new world is pretty good. I'm also not buying for a second that Roger is actually dead. Though he was stupid for provoking his great-great-...-grandfather. The thing is, I kind of don't care either.

I was just looking it up when Bree rode in to tell them about it. I'm going to have to disagree with her a little that this particular battle would have ruined the revolution, though it's a fair question. I just don't think people in Boston really give much of a shit of what was going on in North Carolina. The massacre and tea party are still years away enough that this isn't likely to make much of a ripple. I really wish there was more of this on the show. One of the things about the first and second seasons that was so compelling was the whole race against time theme. Although here, too little too late tbh. I like how Roger was like, 'don't die Mistress MacKenzie!' Then he pops the guy like an idiot. Jamie was creepy af with the redcoat on. I kind of wish they time jumped more closer to the revolution. I mean yeah, the regulator plot came to a climax, but eh, when you consider the revolution is coming up. Although I can see why this would galvanize Jamie to want to fight in the revolution, I don't know if he actually needed that motivation. It's not like he's doubted Claire's accounts of the future.

Me too. I can only take small doses of him. Actually, I didn't mind last week because he did something useful. I don't know why he's such a doormat. Did this actually happen in real life history?

I don't think she's going to reveal. There's going to be something dire and she's going to bust out that saber and wreck it. Are we shipping Trace and Ahsoka? Because I am so hard.

One thing I like on a show is when people are good at their jobs. Not like the best ever, but I hate shows where total fuck ups keep their jobs. So I'm liking that with Marty out of the picture there's cracks in the operation. I said in the other episode thread that no one is just letting him do his job. Helen is also good at her job, but she's smug. I wouldn't be surprised if Ruth ends up killing her. The daughter is really shining this season.
-
I was like oh no, Ruth, don't tell Helen you don't need Marty. And I like Ruth was actually upset when she figured it out.
-
I like that the daughter dresses for the office.

I'm not following Helen dumping on Marty. The FBI said the warrant was triggered with the purchase of the second casino. He actually stopped that from happening available Wendy went ahead with the slot machine scam. He's the one person who knows how to move the money and they're not letting him do his job.
-
I very much enjoy Wendy turning into a straight up criminal, but I think it made good narrative sense she was knocked down a peg here. She's only just starting and Marty has been doing it for a long time. I can get his better grasp of risk. I also would get along with Ruth fantastic because I'm always yelling at work.

Holy shit. Tossing Frank into the lake made this episode GOLD.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - General Discussion

I think Richard Lewis' entire motivation is to break Larry up in their scenes.
