  1. No, but the problem is beyond either averting, avoiding, or mitigating the fire, I just don't care about their plot. Either Bree is whining or Roger is being henpecked by Jamie. I mean, I know the books were written a while ago, but sexual assault is such a tired trope as it is, especially in our current social climate. Then you throw in the baby to it. It's just way too soapy and derivative for me. I'm not clear on why the baby needs the stone to actually go through the stones. Bree and Claire don't. I know they were joking about the university, but why can't Roger and Bree start a school in the region? They're certainly qualified. I mean, I'd have a hard time shooting, hunting too, but I'd be looking for ways to be useful. I can teach math and writing.
  2. Holy shit, I barely recognized 'young' Claire in the church. Kudos to makeup. This is really the shit I signed up for. I know it's not a 'time-travel' show, but this and the whole 'batsuit' I really enjoy. I know I knock the show a lot, but there's enough I like to stick with it. The theme song alone is almost worth it. It's the only one of all my shows that I sit and watch. Back in the days of Penny Dreadful and sweaters we called that 'dainty' manpain. I was really disappointed when Claire returned to the present because they basically were like, 'hey I'm a doctor. Sorry Frank. Let's go back.' Part of that was her doctor friend. Claire doesn't really have any friends per se. They really haven't done that since the first and second seasons. I felt like I knew those people and was completely immersed in the world for an hour each week. Other than Lord John, I don't really know these people that well. Even Fergus is basically a background guy handing out beers. I assume some people would be allergic to the penicillin Claire invented since they made a point of mentioning it twice. I mean, I still consider it a major help she was able to invent it, even if it helps only 5 people.
  3. That was a tight line. I was ready for an Ahsoka episode, and I liked the overt hoyay for the adults watching the show. I really like the music when she used the Force and the little kid taking notice. I really want this closing out of the series to be about taking your agency.
  4. Yeah I said as much last week. It's getting a little much. Roger can just tell him to knock it off. I don't expect him to be particularly useful but he can speak up. It's actually bad leadership on Jamie's part tbh. He's not an idiot. He knows Roger comes from 1970 and was a scholar (not like a blue collar job or something). Put him to use where his skills would be valuable - whether it's logistics, records. Shit, he was even singing when they were taking a break.
  5. I don't know if Vaughn is necessarily trying to be funny all the time. He's good at sustaining the momentum of a scene because he can improv well. "Well I'm still hungry even though you did kill that baby" is very funny to me and the whole scene with the uncle at the newsstand was funny too.
  6. Yes, just walk away for once. They're living in hard times. Now they have another mouth to feed. They have to establish some priorities. There's lots of bigger issues to deal with.
  7. HBO doesn't really have to make decisions based strictly on ratings though. How long was the time on the show from when they bumped off course to now? Because it seems like it's short to me. I actually like the jarring dark turn they took with everyone going out the airlock. I hope people start dying in weird ways.
  8. Iris. Rav. I also liked the two idiots fighting and the wide deadpan - this isn't as hot as I thought it was going to be. I don't see this as a show with a long shelf life because you're going to have to kill everyone on the ship or get them home at some point. I suppose they could take an empty cruise ship and get it out there with a real crew and just load everyone on. Or burn the rest of the fuel to the next largest gravity well and slingshot to correct course. It could save some time. There's probably still more stuff to shoot out of the airlock too.
  9. Not every show is going to be A Show. I've laughed enough to continue watching. There's a lot of good lines I like. Rav slapping Judd was fantastic. I think Ryan and Billie are most enjoyable and was disappointed they were separated mostly here. I also have a feeling that the shuttle will somehow fuck up and be back on the ship. I was cracking up at the actor constantly crying. And Billie rolling her eyes until Ryan figured out he couldn't leave. Eight years seems like a long time too but they were wrong before and the solution probably is something stupid.
  10. I assumed so or there was some service fee. I guess it depends on the cost of the Bavarian licorice and how much Larry eats. The guy knew he was being disingenuous too, and the mechanics are wasting their time when they could be working on cars that need it.
  11. If Adam was Fredo he would have fallen off the boat aga hit his head.
  12. With really nothing left to prove, I get the feeling from the statement that Brady is looking to settle somewhere where he can be successful in whatever capacity after football. It's not like he's going to go anywhere that can win now, although I'm sure he'd be thrilled to win another without the Pats. I don't feel like he needs to stick it to the Pats either though. I know the Lakers are a primo franchise, but LeBron's decision wasn't entirely basketball related. So it seems like that to me.
  13. Yeah like Ten getting his hands cut off and growing back. I can live with that. You're not having a newly regenerated Doctor fall out of the sky and regenerate again. Plus the TARDIS threw her out for her safety so she knew it would be ok.
  14. Quite timely to premier the show in the current climate. That dramatization was hilarious, and I loved the running gag about all the magazines with jet in the title. Didn't Tipper Gore invent the stickers? I think it was smart to get to Mo sooner than later. Cheadle is too good to be sidelined for too long. I love Artemis!
  15. I suppose it's going to boil down to how much cheddar owners are willing to fork over to make it work. You're going to likely have to guarantee X home games per team. Not impossible to work out, but still a pain. Then, the roster issue, doubleheaders. It could be interesting like the short NBA season - more teams who think they have shot might 'go for more' than just wasting 5 or 7 games because they're just hacking away for a home run. You're going to need a way bigger bullpen.
  16. Larry did tell Diane that he felt bad for getting her fired before offering her the job. It might be a thin premise ymmv but they did address it. Given the improv nature of the show, I'm more interested in how the actors do the scenes, than what's actually going on. The show still works for me on that level.
  17. I think 100 is reasonable. You win 60 games, that's about 97 wins.
  18. I'm posting this from there. The bartender is so nice!
  19. Wow nice Get Out reference. I liked Bozo reference for the 'what other Bozo is there?' How was Brian around when Chris was a kid?
  20. The wobbly table joke never gets old for me. Jeff looked like he was going to break after they got on his case about baby Hitler. My dog woke up and barked at Larry whistling. The diarrhea wasn't a big deal for me, but come on, you can't sweat into people's food and say it's ok. I was dying when Larry was in the audience.
  21. I liked that the kids wanted to go to the auction. It's was weird Linda and Teddy were so into the holiday. The idea for the sliders is actually good. I don't get why she wouldn't charge like two dollars or something. I didn't think they'd all come back so I'm glad Bob caught a break with more customers.
  22. My roommate at the time was French and never could get the joke.
  23. I would imagine being guilty of a crime would get you disbarred. The ABA should have a code of ethics like any other organization.
