  1. That's why I was confused as to whether she actually left or not. I mean, if Fourteen (is he actually the fourteenth because technically he was Ten and Eleven), popped up, Yaz would come running. I know Tennant is a name draw, but McGann could carry 3 specials. Isn't he known well enough in the UK?
  2. I said the same. It's not like he doesn't show when they ask. He should have been in the 50th instead of the War Doctor nonsense.
  3. I actually am watching from the very first episode all the way up. I'm in season 7. I'd say the show is remarkably consistent episode to episode. Even in the first cast though, there were some sketches that fell flat.
  4. I watched it last night. I posted about it after I watched it. I didn't check the thread here until I watched it, but because it aired last week everyone was going bonkers about Tennant basically immediately after the show ended in the UK airing. So I knew he was going to make an appearance. I'm unspoiled as to what may happen with Yaz in upcoming specials. I didn't get the impression she was leaving the Doctor like Dan did. Given that the last three companions were able to walk away, I'm concerned Yaz might have a tragic ending.
  5. I'm very glad Dan was able to walk too. That's three companions in a row! I'm totally unspoiled, but Yaz seems ride or die to me.
  6. I watch on Peacock, and these episodes are 42 minutes. In a quick imdb search, it looks like the first season of the OG was about 48 minutes. Six minutes is a lot in a television show. Also, the fourth episode, Sam leaped into a boxer.
  7. I enjoyed the special. Doctor Who is what it is. I like this Master because he's just all over the place. You get to when the Daleks and Cybermen are side eying each other like, 'this guy? what are we doing now?' that you're Master plan is kind of out there. I was spoiled for Ten/Fourteen because I couldn't watch last Sunday when the special aired, and of course social media wouldn't even wait 15 seconds. I did like that Fourteen pulled the teeth gag and then was legitimately confused as to why they were Ten again. In my head, I always think that while the regenerations aren't totally controllable, the Doctor's subconscious influences. Since we know Fourteen is going to be short lived, and they were reaching back for this regeneration, I would have liked if they went to Eight instead, and give McGann a proper run. It's not like he isn't game. I mean, RTD when they rebooted the show with Nine, was clear to make sure McGann was canon as Eight.
  8. You people are my alibi. I post here all the time so when I say 'I was home posting about Quantum Leap,' there's a time stamp and the metadata.
  9. I'm looking forward to watching the special tomorrow night, but wow, if you don't watch nearly immediately now, you're a world behind.
  10. The writers room are the best scenes for me just because Selma gets to make a crack to steal the scene. Even when she's not in the scene. "They went on social media. Everything was going ok then they found a picture of a nude Selma with a young Gabe Kapler."
  11. The station looked reasonably in the path of Avenue 5 enough that I can fanwank. I mean, this isn't that show, but you could assume that Avenue 5 got blown above the ecliptic so the maneuvers to get on a course to earth directly can't happen.
  12. I can handwave that a shuttle is faster because Avenue 5 is more like an aircraft carrier and just can't move just due to inertia. That's why they can't turn. Too much of a fuel burn. They also have all those people. I thought last season they did have a conversation about shuttling people off, but it would have taken longer. I thought for a second that the station was all cannibals and they were eating people.
  13. I did have a laugh because when he opened the door it was patently obvious. Magic wasn't buying the future leaper theory, so I took it as he wanted to push a little just for himself. Magic is high up enough that he can track what this guy is up to.
  14. He's too rich and too old to apologize to a guy like that, and it wouldn't have worked anyway. Just bought some time. Peter Gallagher is too rich and to old to forget Gordon over performing and wouldn't have let it go. When Gordon stormed out and Hannah was still there, he said as much. I was really worried about Clay falling off the wagon.
  15. They needed the more 'present time' in order to figure out who the leaper was, and I'm glad they didn't drag it out. Otherwise, for the 'usual' episodes, I think since the boxer, it's been good with the right balance of the past and present. It would be interesting if there was some kind of storm or something that locked Addison in the chamber so the entire episode was just in the past with them. I mean, it's only been 6 episodes, and with the tsunami of nostalgia they've had to surf, largely unfair imo, I'm looking forward to Tuesdays. It's not a show "I'll get to". It's one I make time for. And we have really steady discussion throughout the week. I know they can't have Ben say 'oh boy' because they're probably saving that for the season finale where we get a glimpse of Sam and we all lose it. (Total speculation). I would like Ben to have some gesture or saying though.
  16. I like my Abrasive Leaper over 'Leaper X.' I totally forgot they were seeing the actual leaper and not the person. On the OG, Sam first saw the person so I thought that's who they saw. To be fair, for one, here, Addison saw the guy, and they had the picture of him, so it's clear it wasn't Sam. I don't see why it would have been brought up since they know what Sam looks like. For the other, they were actually kind of clever. They saw Leaper X himself because he was using the same technology as 'Ben from 2022.' When they were going through the scenarios, I don't see why the leaping from the future was so dismissed. I said the same last week. It seems they were trying to throw us off. The use of power for even a private company would have sapped the grid somewhere that would have raised a flag, and foreign government wasn't realistic either. I like the 'future threat' better anyway. There's more drama to mine. I'm not sure I like Ben trying to get to a *future* point because I just want him to go to the bar, but I still hope it involves Sam. Also it could still be the bar. I don't mean to be overly much, but you can commute from Oakland to San Francisco. Millions do. They at least made the handwave about the better school, better house, so ok. I liked the classic QL ending again. The son went on to design better buildings. I will happily applaud the show if this is actually ignored.
  17. I think that's from the source material. I'm familiar in general with Stephen King's works, but I really never could get into them. I liked when Moe's dummy did the spit take while Moe was drinking after the show.
  18. My guess was singularly the version of Gangsta's Paradise with the live musicians and host of backup singers. That was a great arrangement. However, it looked like Farley made a cameo somewhere and that was cut. I don't get that. tbh, I don't care if any particular episode is garbage or a classic. I want to see the whole thing.
  19. You also had more running time to do that, which helps. I'd say the boxing story was 'small' though because it just focused on getting the brother help for ptsd, and then he went on to help others.
  20. The song was a riff on Conga, but I don't know how many would have got that. Is fandom in general just over Tina & J-Ju? Around here, I don't think there's many shippers.
  21. Highlander was great because they just hit them in their coats or was just lying on the table.
  22. The Teddy Pendergrass joke killed when they cut to the Browns with the ER. And Bortus is back! I liked that being at the post office gave Cleveland logistical skills. I was a little disappointed they reset. I would have liked Cleveland to actually get a new job.
