  1. Presumably they do that to allow for more weight loss. It'll act as an incentive for anyone who's noticed that they have no chance of winning left, and those that do will need the smaller size.
  2. Mostly where you'd also find security cameras, but I'm sure he could have gotten a burner easily enough.
  3. There's a beer made with maple syrup called "maple surple".
  4. Do they say anything about fresh? Restaurants often use up unsold meat & veggies by putting it in their soups.
  5. I think it's safe to presume that Amy would have talked to Penny and Penny would have told Leonard. I'm not sure famous is the right word since theatre is below the radar of most people. From the looks of her IMDB filmography, she's one of those actors you see everywhere, but probably don't know their name. On TV, her greatest visibility seems to have been The Young and the Restless in 2008-9.
  6. Sheldon's mother might have taken on the care of her mother-in-law if neither her husband nor father-in-law were around. Mary mentioned that her husband was dead. So is Sheldon's Pop Pop, but we didn't know until now if Pop Pop was on the same side of his family as Meemaw. Have we ever heard what Sheldon calls his other grandparents?
  7. I should have been more specific. I was thinking of the earlier allegations. Entirely different than the more recent stuff for which he was arrested.
  8. For a while now in the U.S. the thinking has been that as long as you know what you're getting into when you partake of something that compromises your decision-making, then you can't use that as an excuse for your subsequent choices (whether that's to drive through the nearest mall or have sex, as long as it was foreseeable). That didn't used to be the case, and judging by the news about Bill Cosby, some would like to roll the clock back.
  9. Was this model appreciation day? We got everyone's last names to go with the first names the show has been occasionally tossing out. I couldn't tell if Neville saying that one of the creations had too much hair was intended as a joke.
  10. More likely, that's how a teacher pronounced it and he accepted it.
  11. If Major bailed out of the rearward door when the bus stopped to let out somebody else, he would have been long gone before the driver could react.
  12. It was enough to make me look up whether we were in sweeps period yet. Feb sweeps starts on the 4th this year, so this was just to get some viewer attention ahead of time.
  13. It's called "refund season" because people who are expecting money back tend to want it as soon as possible, so the early part of the year is weighted towards returns getting refunds. Of course, some people just want to be done with the task.
  14. A half-marathon in 3 hours is only a little over 4 mph - somewhat over a normal walking speed, but not even that brisk. Not a problem if it wasn't too hot or humid, and I'm sure they took weather into account in planning. They wouldn't have wanted the contestants to be collapsing in puddles of sweat halfway through.
  15. The tax ads don't stop with the deadline; they keep going for a while with a new emphasis on helping people who missed the deadline.
  16. Sitcom humor wasn't really his forte. The Cozi channel reran a Bionic Woman episode last night in which he had a prominent dramatic role.
  17. For all Bob knows, Toy may have only missed it by a fraction of an ounce.
  18. It made sense when Nissan would make their new sporty car look like the latest Porsche, since shape is related to performance. What good is making a car just look like one known for it's quality? The parts on the Chevy aren't going to last any longer; it'll just make it harder to spot your car in a parking lot.
  19. The producers like it when a team comes back from behind or can be made to look like they might. It's also not his role to lecture on how contestants should use an advantage right away. For one thing, what's the point of a growing pound if you don't allow it to grow? But also, the desire to use it right now is right next door to a compulsion to eat hearty while you can because you never know what's in the future (for those whose ancestors faced an uncertain food supply).
  20. Then they embraced the idea of using standardized parts to cut inventory and save money and went a little overboard. You can make a pile of legos look like a huge number of different things. Car designers need to be more creative.
  21. When did it become a good thing for a family sedan to look just like the ones made by so many other companies? The folks at Little Caesars are pretty good at making a fresh pizza that tastes like frozen.
  22. The ad is supposed to be making a play on the word "settlers", so it should have been more Little House on the Prairie than Amish.
  23. FWIW, some of their clearance sales right now are real, since they're closing 36 stores by Spring. But, don't expect big bargains on everything; if something is worth sending to a store that isn't closing instead of knocking the price down more, they will.
  24. I suspect they didn't look. Somebody decided that since Bob was already on contract, rather than pay somebody new to host the show, they'd have Bob split his time between hosting and coaching. At the start of the season, Bob said he'd be doing both, but I don't think things have worked out the way somebody envisioned. His hosting and shilling haven't left much time for coaching.
