  1. On some prior visits, she probably said something like "Can you hurry? I'm late for yoga class."
  2. Was this the historical figure or the modern guy in a red suit? The latter is attributed with enough supernatural powers, he may be able to take care of himself if you sent the trolley his way.
  3. It's been in old cartoons and comedy movies, Looney Tunes for sure.
  4. We saw him teaching himself Finnish. Sheldon wants to be educated in a wide range of topics so that he can show off, even if he has to drag the topic over a bit. He often has to, since he aims for depth that will impress, rather than breadth, in an area.
  5. I noticed that the Cologuard ad features a UPS truck. Is this something that the Postal Service won;t accept?
  6. The Simpsons did a pretty good parody of that episode, as well as other TZ episodes (including "To Serve Man"), in their Treehouse of Horror specials. FXX is currently rerunning those Halloween episodes in the evenings thru the 31st.
  7. The title character in Pretty Woman did, and said that "kissing is extra". I don't recall seeing that ad; how do you know that guy's her boyfriend?
  8. Apparently they're still standard on Corvettes, which made a big splash being the first to announce switching over. Everyone else seems to have decided a spray can of rubber will suffice to eliminate a spare. Experience says it's worthless if you can't pull over right away (the sidewalls are ruined).
  9. I was thinking of some of the colors and patterns he's worn. He also mentioned putting something sparkly on his clothing, but I don't think we've ever seen it.
  10. What happened to the run-flat tires that were supposed to become standard equipment? LM's ad talking about roadside assistance for a flat tire is something that should seem old-fashioned by now.
  11. True, but the writers seemed to be wanting to portray a progression in the character's insanity, and LD was a bit one-note in that respect, making Val seem just as nuts when she was forming the group as at the end.
  12. From a legal POV, the neighbor was defending himself from a perceived threat. He was looking at a dangerous dog that was not under control of its owner, and judging from his reaction, this wasn't the first time he's been threatened in such a manner. friendperidot is courting tragedy by letting the dog be the boss in their relationship. You don't have to be big to be in charge.
  13. I'm sure the agreement was so broad they had no idea what would happen. The company probably could have quoted a few words out of context in a print ad and it would have been covered.
  14. Girls is/was a vanity piece for her, so it wasn't a surprise that this episode had the same feel. I'm glad they kept down the profanity and didn't let her get naked (which could have fit in her opening scene in the car).
  15. This show reminds me of an old movie where a women does the same thing Ivy is doing to her spouse. In the end, the husband is still sane enough to realize he can get away with killing her since everyone knows he's crazy, and tells her that as he does so. Ivy may be in for her own "oops" moment. With this episode, I can no longer buy that Ivy would vote for Clinton.
  16. Raj was definitely lying because any hand-me-downs would have been altered by one of the servants. We don't have enough information to know if he ever wore hand-me-downs, but wearing an older sister's clothes may have influenced his "taste" in attire.
  17. Did the marriage fall through? When Beverly mentioned the medalist/judge on her S3 visit, her other son had only just gotten engaged to her, so he could have actually married someone else, or remarried since then.
  18. Have we met any of his brothers? We haven't met his other sister. Raj referred to Priya as his baby sister, so any girly hand-me-downs wouldn't have been hers. Well, they did get drunk together one night. I think she appreciates that Penny has gone from being the lowly waitress she had dismissed as having little in the way of career prospects to someone with a respectable job making twice as much as Leonard. BTW, what did Beverly call Penny at the end, before she saw it was Leonard she was talking to? I didn't catch it.
  19. Wouldn't that hamper development of color vision? There have been experiments with animals that would suggest so.
  20. Too late. When the Swiffer ad pans over, the girl's hair is already cut on one side and he's working on top.
  21. Yes, the "our" words seem to be a particular target for regional variation since that combination of letters are pronounced a variety of ways depending on the preceding letter(s). If you watch reality shows, you may have noticed that "tour" also seems to have two pronunciations, "tur" and "tor". neither of which is consistent with the ones for "dour".
  22. They are. JD Power doesn't allow their name to be used in ads unless the company pays them a fee. Being named in the ad as though they're some sort of authority also carries some value. There's no quid pro quo, so JDP isn't really whoring themselves out by giving all those awards; it's more like they're in the "escort" business.
