  1. Because they can't be straightforward about what customers will be watching that would benefit from a high-speed fiber optic connection.
  2. I figured that if she wasn't totally faking, that it was actually a panic attack she had. That can make you feel like you'e having trouble breathing, and she had just flopped at her first comp w/o immunity, after being left out of the loop on the eviction vote. I presume she received assurances from a producer that they still had her back. Even if she's the next one out the door, I'm sure they'll rig something so that she can go back in.
  3. Shannon clearly put some advance thought into what words she could spell if she had to compete in this particular challenge. There's a whole array of shorter words that she could have stopped at if she had to, not many letters critical to have (like the 'R'), and it takes advantage of the producers being generous with certain letters. Contrary to what Nicole said, 10 letters is not enough to guarantee a win, even though it would have been enough in this case.
  4. Car sales seems to be more of a revolving-door position, where they'll give somebody a shot and replace them if they don't cut it. A manager like Penny's boss needs to be able to point to something to justify a hiring. Usually that's a good resume, but a solid recommendation works too.
  5. Didn't Julie describe something a bit more convoluted? Something to do with the person standing in the right place relative to what was picked? If Omarosa got to stand in the right place it may not have mattered what number was picked. Not if they believed her side of the story. I was referring to when Omarosa was introducing herself; she said it was S1 of The Apprentice she was known for.
  6. He probably had no interest in reality competition shows until he decided he might want to be on one. He asked "for who", so he at least knows that The Apprentice has had more than one host. I thought Omarosa's claim to fame was being fired by Trump the most times, having lost on three separate seasons. But, I do remember the first season, in which she showed herself to be completely incompetent at anything but finger-pointing. She got some notoriety because she was picked by one of the F2, who wanted to prove he could manage anyone, but she proved him wrong.
  7. That would cost a lot more, and it looks like they're already trying to save money by having people come to them rather than fly the guys and a crew everywhere.
  8. I think they needed TV and cars for the convenience of the story. BTW, how did Ezekiel get Bob Saget's job?
  9. Ever notice that it was always early AM in the ad? They never explicitly said they were just catering to the morning coffee & donut crowd, but you could infer it.
  10. Locally, you can't count on getting a donut at DD at night, and if you can, you probably don't want it; the racks aren't set up to keep anything fresh (grocery stores do better). Despite their name, Dunkin Donuts considers themselves to be a coffee shop. I don't know how long that's been the case, but I recall it being part of the news stories when Krispy Kreme went public about 18 years ago. On DD's web site. they call themselves "America's favorite coffee shop", and I think I've seen that phrase in some of their ads.
  11. Producers want the sense of danger because they figure viewers will be drawn, rather than thinking "idiots". There was an episode where guest Charlemagne advised Nev against following a catfish into his house (it wasn't a good neighborhood). That comment was part of the promo.
  12. True, but the agents at those other companies may be advising customers not to buy overpriced optional coverages, whereas LM agents will gladly have you paying far more in premiums than the extra amount you may eventually collect.
  13. But they have proven being out in the cold temporarily impairs your immune system, so even though it's actually going back inside that briefly increases your chances of getting sick, its easy to see why people drew the conclusion they did.
  14. Maybe it likes having a touch of humanity and with that slipping away it's getting cranky and unpredictable. The Library is apparently fine with being tethered to any of the three; just pick already! I noticed that they gave Stone a throwaway line about not liking the idea of a random pick, but for lack of a better way, why not?
  15. Part way through the episode, I realized that I wouldn't mind if all three of the librarians lost out. They didn't really explain why Jenkins couldn't have become sole librarian, his own modesty aside.
  16. Not if it has a holding tank. The one in the ad I've been seeing looks like it has room for one, so it could pump the water out of the tub and let you get out in almost no time, even if it's going to take several minutes for all of the water to make it to the sewer line.
  17. Children can be adopted, so you can't infer anything about the guy's wife.
  18. Drugs can have odd side effects, so I'm willing to cut the guy some slack. I saw a new ad recently where they had cut the scenes so that it somehow didn't seem as annoying.
  19. What she has in mind may be more on the lines of liposuction or other plastic surgery, although it may take the pressure off if she got a job working on dead people.
  20. In a weird way, is Sheldon taking the place of Beverly?
  21. He said he was engaged for a couple of months, so he almost certainly wan't when he contacted the show. He should have said "never mind" when the producers got back to him, but I could see him figuring that he was being catfished and curious by who (and maybe be at the center of a TV episode where he'd meet Max)..
  22. One problem with highlighting a group is that it may tick off some other group caused to think "what about us?" They also don't always get it right; there have been some pretty insulting ads aimed at African-Americans over the years.
  23. Would he consider what he used to eat "good", compared to what's available in modern times?
  24. If there was actually a pair of cops involved, one could have been holding her from behind when she started kicking and accidentally hit his partner, who she didn't even see through the hair in front of her face.
  25. Is that intended to help you be satisfied with the portions, or to make you more likely to cheat and have to use the product longer to get the results you want?
