I don't mind the music (although I too would prefer less of it) but what annoys me is that it is much louder than the dialogue. I had to keep grabbing my remote.

If Morse was playing Russian roulette, it might have been a bit like a semi-popular decision-making technique: Flip a coin. Not to do what the coin says, but to see how you feel about that option. If Morse fired and got an empty chamber, it might have helped him clarify whether he really wanted to continue living. At the end, looking into the rear-view mirrors, did older Morse seem to have darker eyes than younger Morse?

The various Morse series have many characters with seemingly unusual names: Thursday, Strange, Box, Trulove, Fancy, et al. Presumably Colin Dexter started this trend in his novels, but I wonder why.

The faux suicide was after Morse's hallucination(?) at the wedding, of him and Joan finally getting together. From then on I figured anything might be symbolic or not realistic.

I wish the interviews were more often relevant to the game. If a contestant is a professor or student, I'd like to know what their field is, because it can affect how well they do in certain categories. Most of the "how I met my spouse" and "what I did on vacation" stories are pretty dull, IMO.

Am I the only one sick of Blenheim Vale! End already! The next episode is the finale, so you'll get your wish. But it sounded as if knowing something about Blenheim Vale will help us understand the finale. I'm tired of watching people cook with their hair all over the place. Waiting for the judges to find a hair in their dessert. Bob told Vikki that they shouldn't argue, but clearly he meant that she shouldn't disagree with him. Glad they are gone.

That makes sense. During that time they can also do the interviews about how they decided which dessert to make.

Relevant to Wednesday's FJ: How Many Oceans Are There?

I wondered about bodies of water smaller than oceans, but I don't know them, so I said Pacific and Southern Oceans. Then I remembered children's nonfiction books (was that James H?) and changed Southern to Indian.

I don't think I would snooze through a losers' tournament. Laugh, cry, throw things, or switch channels, probably.

We won't see Tym again unless they have a tournament for Biggest Losers (better names welcome, since they won't do this).

The writers of the show may not have felt a need to be consistent, since they didn't know about us. 😀

I have a theory about Zoe too. We'll see.
