  1. Oh, man. I couldn't stand Hershel in that instant...but he was right! It was kind of hilarious.
  2. 18 Miles Out, yes? He got stuck in the car for hours on his way to see his girlfriend at Georgia Tech (my alma mater!), listening to Lord of the Raaaangs on tape. (tape??) We got a few bits and pieces on people early on. Glenn was a pizza delivery guy, Jacqui worked for the city planning or something. Just a few tidbits. Little details we discuss now as chit chat, and we don't see them doing that much in TWD.
  3. I'm not sure what SL means. Yes, they do leave GA.
  4. Ugh, SoA. I'll be glad when that mess is over! And yes, please to Rick driving the bus and chasing Abraham.
  5. The last 2 episodes were amazingly similar for sure.
  6. I agree with you somewhat about getting away from the source material. Especially if it's based on the actors' chemistry, etc. I think the comics have a generally great storyline, but I also think the show has done a good job of improving upon things. Kirkman has agreed to that as well in some instances. I think the character of Michonne is one of these cases. On the other hand, the show bombed with Andrea. I like that they use the comic as a general outline and change it to fit their needs. They could do more with that though, as you suggest. (and Katrina is Ichabod's wife right? I agree; get rid of her!)
  7. Timetoread, your post presents a disappointing outcome. I think Richonne would be awesome as well, because of all the reasons you mention. If they cast some cutesy person just to satisfy Rick's other half, that would be hugely frustrating. I hope they are better than that. I'd rather see him alone. He doesn't need someone "on his arm" for sure; I think they are equals and neither one wants to be protecting a "weaker" partner or being protected by someone "stronger." And no, in my perfect apocalypse, there are no surviving supermodels. ;)
  8. For me, Laurie Holden's acting crushed Andrea from the first time she spoke. :-\ With that in mind, I'm glad Andrea and Dale didn't have the relationship they did in the comics. Surely someone will fill her shoes on the show with Rick, right? I mean, she's still around in the comics. I do like tv Michonne much better than comic, and I'd be okay if it were her (in an understated way).
  9. Interesting idea re: Sasha as Andrea. I've wondered if Michonne would take her place as Rick's partner and resident badass.
  10. I definitely agree the direction given and time allowed could've been factors on the goodbye scene, but SOMETHING would've been better than seeing them stare out the bus window for 10 seconds. Maybe I can chalk it up to Maggie being his number one and that's it. I'd say Maggie put those feelings in his mind (re: season 2), because I don't think Rick felt that way. Hmm, I am starting to dislike Maggie, whereas I never thought much about her. Huh.
  11. Glenn's behavior in this episode was disappointing to me. I don't feel like he had any warm feelings towards Rick. No affection or respect necessarily. He seemed very bland and uncaring. Not even a hug goodbye?
  12. Except it wasn't the Colt. It was an all black gun with a silencer on the end. Boo, EW.
  13. I'm hoping the show will give Abraham his comic backstory. I think it will definitely aid the TV version's development.
  14. I hope it's while before Negan. That was a huge, long arc, and I'm just not ready for it. I mean, it just ended in the comics finally...i'm not ready to do it all again!
  15. Kirkman recently said on social media that theory is completely wrong.
  16. I see your point editorgrrl! It's a tough one to be sure. I really appreciate the mods trying out different thing to see what works best.
  17. In case you all haven't seen this: http://www.thewalkingdead.com/episode-503-panel-to-screen-comparison/
  18. I am a comic reader, and I enjoyed the separate post, but I doubt a weekly thread for comics vs show will get much discussion. Maybe there could be two comics threads: "what's happening in the comics now" and "current show happenings vs comics." I don't know, it's tough. As an aside, though I do read the comics, I am unspoiled otherwise, and I do see the tendency for those "in the know" make poor use of the spoiler tag. Example: "I don't think they will do that because ." To me, that says that something is coming up regarding a particular situation, and that is even more info than I want (if that makes sense). I'd like to see any and all spoiler talk only in the spoiler thread. I'm fine with whatever you decide for comic talk, but I think it needs its own place, not spoilered in the ep thread.
  19. Yes, ghoulina, I did think of Rick's hospital awakening. I agree, not the same hospital, but I think they intentionally drew parallels as a callback.
  20. When I initially watched, I could not believe that Glenn ("we won't split up again!") and Maggie so quickly went with the DC crowd. Their faces in the church stunned me. They've seen this world. Sure, Rick didn't have to do it the way he did, but they know (especially Glenn, Rick's first post-ZA "friend") what all Rick's been through. Maybe not the Carl stuff that ended up in throat ripping, but Shane, Lori, Dale, the farm, the Governor. What a journey. Then I felt like they just threw it away in two seconds. I came here and read some comments which made me be able to see Glenn and Maggie's side a bit. Maybe why they made that choice, but I still feel such a huge disappointment in that choice. Huge. Also, Maggie, please stop with the closed mouth semi-smile face.
  21. It was the left foot in the episode. Pretty sure that was just a flipped image.
  22. Chris did kind of annoy me one time. He asks, "And does anyone remember from the first episode when Rick tells Gareth he's going to kill him with a machete?" Really Chris? Does anyone remember? I guess he spelled it out for the girl from 24. And the live polls asking questions about the episode (what time was on the clock? etc)...AWFUL.
  23. I thought Bob did a good job with the material as well. TVDale couldn't have pulled that off as well, I don't think. I don't know that the tv slaughter was toned down, but the comics had more talk about "how could we do that? It was awful...horrible..."etc. type talk. In the books, they did do it at the hunters' camp, where there were picnic tables, etc. They do talk about killing them piece by piece and making each one watch the others. ETA: I remember in the books too (I just reread this part the other day), that Andrea is hiding in the woods and shoots off one of the hunter's fingers, ala Gareth's fingers.
  24. That scene (I think it's about 6 or 7 minutes long) is one if not my favorite on the show. I get chills watching. From Shane's "you're right man, that is enough" to Rick shooting Sophia, I'm riveted every time. Whenever I watch that ep, I usually rewind a few times to see it over and over. So freaking good. And I keep noticing details that just add to it. Love. Eta: I just read ghoulina's response re: Lori. Totally agree. As awesome as that scene is, it further cements my poor opinion of Lori.
