  1. I commented on what she said just upthread, but I think her "before" indicates post-ZA but before the current time. I think she's happy to be back with her group, her family. Sure she misses everything before the ZA, but I don't think that's what she was referring to.
  2. I took it to mean that she meant she didn't miss what the sword symbolized. The constant fighting, the time she was alone, the time when she felt she was a "monster." I think she definitely misses the sword itself and its usefulness.
  3. Yes, they've really got to start questioning the DC crew. I mean, they did the three questions with Father Gabriel immediately upon meeting him. No one has asked these guys much of anything. It's like, "Oh, you don't immediately try to kill, maim, or eat us? You must be all right!" I like that they have a mission, but unless they could really show some evidence, their story is just unbelievable.
  4. I kind of think he was just nervously filling in empty space. They were all just staring, so he was all, "uh, food?" Yeah, that's a safe thing to say. :P
  5. Yep, remember the "Something Human" awards push?
  6. I wonder if Bob was crying because he was bitten and he knew he finally wouldn't be the last one alive of his group. He was of course crushed for it to happen after he found people he loved.
  7. Upon rewatch, the scene where they first save Father Gabriel is kind of hilarious. They just stare and stare at him while he mumbles on and pukes and acts generally weird. Their faces are all so awesome. I also think Maggie's acting in this episode (what little she had to do), was kind of...not good. The close lipped smile she gives Glenn is annoying. Thinking about the male, possibly-alpha/maybe leader-y/maybe good fighter type people we have now: Rick, Abraham, Tyreese, Daryl. That is a lot. I hate to say it, but I kind of wish the Termites had taken Tyreese instead of Bob. Had there not been the nice reunion with Sasha last week, I think I'd feel that even stronger. And I don't dislike Tyreese. Also, the car that Carol and Daryl find looks similar to the one Martin had at the cabin. She doesn't make mention of it, though, so maybe not.
  8. I was going to comment about the van (I remember seeing notices when that was going to be filmed, so that one always stands out), but lulee beat me to it. I didn't remember that about the katana...must go rewatch trailer. eta: Just rewatched the trailer. How interesting and annoying how they splice things together so in the end, you know very little of what actually happens. But yes! I saw the katana. Michonne is wearing a leather vest, versus the white shirt she had on in this ep, but it looks like she's in front of the church steps. Ahhh. Reunited and it feels so good.
  9. And what's worse, other than showing he is a REALLY BAD GUY, I don't think it necessarily accomplished anything or moved the story forward. All that Maggie has done since then, she could've done had that not happened. In spite of being over Negan at this point, I do kind of wish we knew more about how he came to be. That always interests me. (Moreso than it interests Kirkman I guess). Good point about the comic improving. If only he'd had those writers as he was developing ComicMichonne and before he lopped off Rick's hand (and Carl, well, I guess even the writers couldn't stop that).
  10. I grew tired of Negan. I hated him (as a bad guy, not the idea of him), and when I read issue 100, it actually upset me. I don't think I'm ready for THAT yet. I wish Negan was dead. I don't know how he won't come across too "comic-y." As I read the issues, I felt there was somewhat of a lull between the hunters and full blown Negan, and I would like to see that on the show some.
  11. He also called Rick by name.
  12. The live quizzes were stupid. Really bogged down the show.
  13. I want to like Tyreese (not that I don't), but cal's post has a lot of good points.
  14. True, but that was kind of the point of Merle.
  15. Well, I'm not Episcopal nor do I have an interracial pastoral couple (heh), but I attend church across the street from the Episcopal part at least. (I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once!) And I have seen that here, though. I get what you're saying; there are always people that will whisper and joke about stereotypes; I just get sensitive because, well, we aren't Deliverance...and I guess Alabama gets characterized as such sometimes too. I'd guess there are people like that everywhere, you know? I'm in SW Georgia, so relatively close neighbors!
  16. Respectfully, I wish you were, too. I've lived in Georgia my whole life, and now I live in a small town, and we have plenty of interracial couples and Episcopal Churches. As a whole, I do not believe that Georgia = Deliverance. Maybe you've had a different experience. I I don't think the show has necessarily played into those types of stereotypes. /rant
  17. I enjoyed this episode and all the little conversations between characters. The opening of the episode though, with our gang walking and Rick slowly appearing on the screen. I don't know, it just gets me. These are our people! I love them, even when they make bad decisions! And when they work together, they are like a well oiled machine, even when doing stupid things like fighting walkers in water. I do think Bob was bitten. I also hope Michonne gets her katana back. The reach for it and not having it there...ouch. Guns are so unwieldy GodsBeloved, yes, it was. Lizzie said all of that in front of the whole Grove group. I live in Georgia too, and I see Episcopal churches regularly, so I'm good with that. Tyreese's relief at not having to go on the run was almost comedic.
  18. I like that the Comic Hunters got a backstory with the Terminus story. If Bob goes the same way as Dale, he'll live a while and get to reunite at least. And Rick will do horrible, terrible things to Gareth.
  19. Love that. I always thought the "stuff" he gives Hershel at the fence while wandering crazytown was an homage to his earlier stuff and thangs to Lori. And kikismom, yes! He also pulls up his upper lip a lot (you know what I'm talking about right), when he's about to get serious.
  20. Nice! As long it's in context with Rick, we're cool. You know, cuz he's soooo dreeeeeeeaaaaaamy!!!11!!1!
  21. I won't be able to watch live tonight (boo!), but I'm somewhat soothed by the knowledge that I will have pages of commentary to read tomorrow.
  22. Interesting! I need to read the last issue again.
  23. I have felt in the past that Michonne has some of Comic Andrea's characteristics as well, such as her relationship with Rick. I don't see him with Carol in that way. diebartdie, do you mean ? I didn't think they had Lizzie's frame of mind at all, just that they were protecting themselves.
  24. Oh duh. I didn't even notice either. Heh.
  25. Deleted comment. Wrong thread!
