Morgan: Man on a Mission
mandolin replied to RedheadZombie's topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
I love TV Michinne so much more than comic Michonne. -
The Comics: Same, Yet Different

I think they improved upon the comic book version of the hunters, but the hospital wasn't there at all, and I think it sucked. Point being, for me, I think the source material can be good for the show… They just have to be careful about how it translates. -
The Comics: Same, Yet Different

I didn't remember that scene, so I looked in my compendium and then the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar_Martinez_%28The_Walking_Dead%29#Comic_book_series In the comics, it was Martinez who conducted Rick, Glenn, and Michonne's entry to Woodbury.[volume & issue needed] He later helped Rick's party escape and fight their way back to the prison.[volume & issue needed] After assisting Rick's party in escaping, Martinez betrays them by sneaking out of the prison to go tell The Governor its location so that he may capture and kill everyone inside. During his run back to Woodbury, Rick runs him down in the RV and then strangles him to death.[1] Caesar's reanimated body is discovered by a Woodbury scouting party,[volume & issue needed] and his head is brought back to Woodbury, to manipulate people to turn them against the people of the prison.[volume & issue needed] I will say I find it strange to pay homage to something so out of our current timeline and that wasn't really a huge thing (at least to me) in the books. -

That promo appeals to me in the ways this half season mostly did not. Hope that's the feel of the back 8. -
Daryl: Your Leading Man and Norman Reedus: the Actor
mandolin replied to Omar G.'s topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
Offscreen. We just saw him say to Carol much later that Merle hadn't ever done anything like that his whole life. Carol responds that Merle gave them a chance. -
I saw that fb post at, oh, 10:02. I don't watch until Monday. I was pissed, as I imagine West Coasters were. I do avoid twitter and instagram (and this page!) until I view it, but I will scan through fb, and I "like" Walking Dead there. That photo was obvious even in a quick scan through my feed. I've been surprised by how fb friends have been saddened by Beth's death.

Agree with this a lot (except Rick outgrowing his usefulness… Never!). Great post though.

Timetoread, John Noble was so, so good as Walter on Fringe. That's why I like him on Sleepy Hollow. Now, Morgan, for me, calls me back to the beginning of the show, when it was so good. The brief relationship he and Rick had, and what they did for each other. Then, Clear was such a good ep to me. References to episode 1 when we'd been through so much crap since then. It was Rick remembering how far he'd come. Always gives me that feeling of...nostalgia maybe?

Well. I had been accidentally spoiled on stupid facebook that Beth would die (plus I saw someone mention it on an instagram comment weeks ago - thanks, internets), so I wasn't surprised. I guess I could see it coming anyway. I'm glad. I didn't like the actress. I honestly didn't mind Beth's role (or the idea of it), but EK just couldn't act her way out of a cardboard box (my opinion of course). I'm sorry for Daryl and the characters who cared about her (not you, Maggie). So glad to see Michonne get to kill some walkers. She is amazing. Whenever she or Rick or on screen doing their things (and/or stuff), I'm glued to it. For me, this show is Rick Grimes. Love the actor, love the character. I feel urgency and concern and joy and terror when he's around. (And remember when his undershirt used to be white?) This whole season has felt like such a holding pattern. A hiatus until the hiatus. I don't feel like much has happened. We gained a couple people and lost some people, all in a pretty low-key, boring fashion (other than the church massacre). I would rather see our group struggle with farming and building a place to live than waste any more time on these nothing characters that will die or be gone in the next half season. I am pretty disappointed overall in this season so far. :( I've stopped caring about quite a few characters, and I don't like it! Nevermind the shovel, the dirt they were moving was so loose! ETA: the show does so many things well (callbacks like "you can't go back" and the walker fingers through the door). I'm amazed at how they drop the ball so often though. Gimple needs to go rewatch Clear to get his mojo back.

I saw that on The Woodbury Shoppe's fb page and laughed. Thought you guys would like it! Too bad Lori didn't have this cookbook when she made those awful pancakes. :P -

Carl: Troubled Boy-Man Or Man-Boy Trouble?

Yes, I'd accept a jump for those more easily. Heh. Especially the manscaping. -

I posted in the Carl thread that I can't see a jump based on Carl's voice change, but since they didn't have one at the end of S4, I could. -
Carl: Troubled Boy-Man Or Man-Boy Trouble?
mandolin replied to Omar G.'s topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
I can't imagine they'd do a time jump purely based on Carl hitting puberty. For me, that just doesn't affect the "passage of time" question so much. I can overlook it. -
Nice of TPTB to allow Andrew Lincoln a cameo in this episode. SIGH. I know people complain of the nature of season 2, but these last 4 eps are killing me slowly. I don't feel like anything really happened. Some people were shown to be stupid and do stupid things and believe people they don't know. Tyreese is lame. Daryl agreed with him...? PeePants runs off. Special effects department got their paycheck. I love this show, but I feel like I am treading water waiting on something to happen and I am SAD.

I'll have to relisten to that song. Most of the music in past seasons has really wowed me, but I haven't bought any yet this year. Listening to my playlist now in fact. In fact the Guv's episode was watchable for me only because I love The Last Pale Light in the West so much.

If only someone had said, "I'm sorry this happened to you."

mandolin replied to radishcake's topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
ghoulina..that pic! I die! I cannot WAIT to have my man Rick back this week! ETA: Seeing that second picture, I think the past few eps for me have felt too "clean." Hospital setting, office buildings, where Abe, et al holed up. I like this show with maximum amounts of dirt I think.
