  1. I could get behind a Carol/Tyreese pairing. I would say for the same reason that all of Abraham's group looks like they do - the source material has dictated it. That doesn't make it any less an odd choice, though, I agree.
  2. Oh yeah! It's been a long time since I watched the DVD. Those scenes were kind of boring, I remember.
  3. I also laughed at Daryl being carried! I'm rewatching old eps (pretty much what I do when I want something on the tv while doing something else!), and Vatos is on. Remember the grandma that leads Rick back to Glenn when they go to exchange the guns for him? She is the sweetest. I wonder what happened to them. It'd would've been neat if she was the same old lady in Woodbury that couldn't fight due to arthritis.
  4. I watched Love Actually for the first time recently, and then this ep. He looked pretty similar to me there, maybe a bit less baby-faced. He definitely looks like a man who's been through a lot now. Did you all think he looked any younger on Talking Dead versus the show?
  5. I agree; Shane always looked like he was on the verge of just losing it. Also, he wears his pants way too high. Interesting observation that Shane never wears the sheriff uniform post-ZA.
  6. Hospitals around here allow smoking just outside the doors. :-/ Or at least they don't seem to actively prohibit it. (It's funny how I'm so quick to defend. Ha.) There was some cool stuff on the season one DVDs about the filming of that scene.
  7. I'm finally getting to rewatch. A standout moment for me was right after Rick sees the watch, poncho, etc and takes Alex at gunpoint, Daryl immediately, instinctually draws his bow. What a testament to how much he trusts Rick. Love those two.
  8. oooh, kikismom, those are cool. I especially loved the Golden Girls and the one from the Jeffersons. I watched the Jeffersons when I was probably to young to be doing so. And GG, well, I can watch that show anytime. I have many of the seasons on dvd. If you are ever in the real life area of TWD, the locations map is invaluable if you go sight-seeing!
  9. I kind of agree about being bored watching them chat. Remember when Dale was telling about his watch around the campfire in season 1 (which I love and have watched way too many times)? That was to the point of awkward for me. (And, aw, I just got nostalgic thinking about the original group and how few we have.) I like the idea of them freeing the other cars. Have all the people come rushing out, and hopefully not to be slaughtered. I can't imagine that taking all season, though. Season 4 was a very short time period, and they can't have a time jump now, so another season that only covers a few days/weeks would surprise me. I guess you never know. I really don't want to know the Termite story ala Woodbury. I need more Rick time. Switching back and forth between our group and the Termites would be ok for me, as long as it was within episodes.
  10. KarateKate, I read the compendiums. They might be cheaper. Also, check your library!
  11. I really hadn't heard of it but saw the freaky icon for the recaps on twop. I did some reading and found out it was getting good reviews so we started watching it. First line of the show, I knew they had to be in Georgia, where I've lived all my life. Then Rick was downtown near where I went to college. That grabbed me, and I tend to enjoy apocalyptic storylines (ala The Stand). I was hooked, and I love the show. I defend its dumb moments to my husband and somehow love the show more for having done so. Ha. I also have since read the comics and enjoy them as well.
  12. i don't know if this is the right place to post this, but it's a bit related. I did a self-guided tour of many of the filming locations last summer, and it was so much fun. Highly recommend it if you're into that kind of thing. I would say, living in SW Georgia, and then visiting the Senoia area, many areas just look ripe for filming this type of show, with minimal work. And the plethora of woods never hurts.
  13. I love Rick more than is probably normal, and I think he does make bad decisions, but ever since he woke up from that coma, life has kind of sucked for the guy. And pre-apocalypse, he was married to Lori, which would've made for a lot of bad days. I unabashedly love any and all iterations of stuff-and-things.
  14. Being a native Georgian, I actually don't mind Rick's accent (but he can kind of do no wrong for me, and I proudly wear a stuff n thi(a)ngs shirt). The Governor's accent was awkward, and I never pegged it as southeastern US. Maggie is bad, but rewatching old episodes, I think she's improved a bit. Beth's is bad, too, but in a different way than Maggie's. It's like they aren't even from the same area.
  15. I can't imagine I'd ever stop, though I'd really appreciate Daryl getting back to his former awesomeness, and soon. (and this post title reminds me of a favorite moment of his, where he tells a walker to "shut up" right before the thunk of his arrow puts him down.)
