  1. Gah! I forgot to watch!! After reminding ourselves for a week this was on last night we forgot....do they still rebroadcast the episodes?
  2. I made it up to showing who the judges and host would be. I don't know who the host is, but wasn't impressed - maybe I should've given him a chance but with Jason in the mix I just didn't have the stomach for it. These could be really good shows if they'd leave out the - as you perfectly describe - lay-it-on-thick-schtick. We aren't (all) 12. I'll watch for the next comp - Halloween? But for now, I'm out.
  3. Apologies in advance if someone already said this, I might have missed it. But....what is the point of this 'edge of extinction'?? 30+ days of sitting on a beach with little or nothing to do; no competition, no strategizing, no alliances, no tribal councils, idols, nothing of anything to do with the game-play of Survivor. So, at this point does anyone even get a chance to return? If so, who's going to vote for someone to win who's been sitting on a beach for the better part of the real game? Not to mention the people on the jury got screwed out of at least a decent time at the Ponderosa 😕 The point? Have I missed it? If I did, I still think this is the lamest 'twist' ever and wish they'd just go back to playing the game.
  4. I reallllllllly wish they'd do away with the 'twist'. So ridiculous. And then they wonder why the candy and boxes were 'rushed' or not good enough. They were busy with the finale creation. 😕 This almost ruins it for me.
  5. Thank you! I like her, but you're right. They aren't too challenging or realistic. I wondered how they ran, I don't see any continuity - or are they just made to be each their own little story? For example, the first one I saw was A Bone to Pick, she inherits a house and starts to date the minister. I know that's not the first in the series - but the second one I saw was next in line - Three Bedrooms, One Corpse. She's back at her condo and no mention of the minister. Did she sell the house? Did things not go well with the guy? Did they address all of this and I missed it? 😉 The other, kind of odd thing, is I've seen the location of the fictional town listed as being in BC Canada and also in Georgia. Which is it? I don't think it rains that much in GA....They probably film in BC but not being familiar with the books I didn't know where she's supposed to live. Anyway - just wondering. We watched the new one with Jill Wagner and like it much better. Thanks, again!
  6. Has anyone seen the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries? I've just seen 2, never heard of them before so I'm trying to watch them in order. Just wondered if anyone had thoughts on these....
  7. So...off topic and not even sure where the appropriate place to ask this is - but I've always wondered why they take their bags with them when they're doing challenges. Does anyone know? Should I take this somewhere else? Thanks :)
  8. My husband has family in Westport and we have property not too far from the beach (or the lighthouse they showed) and they were lucky they had so many work (filming) days where it WASN'T raining/chilly. Westport almost always has that marine layer and a sunny days are few and far between. You can be driving toward WP in the sun and as you approach you can see the cloud cover. Cute house, but the house next to it looked like it was pretty close. That'll always be a deal breaker for me.
  9. My thought exactly. Yes, I meant to say rack lol, I don't know why I typed fridge. Thanks for fixing that :)
  10. I thought the wife did order the pendants; maybe I'm wrong. I thought she said she ordered them and they were not returnable. Agree about losing a window for a wine fridge but leaving it intact on the outside. :/ It's kinda crazy when there are perfectly good (appear to be anyway) cabinets that get ripped out and replaced to the tune of at least several thousand dollars. All for the sake of white shaker. No wonder these people go over budget. I probably don't even want to know what the huge pendant lights cost. Oh well.
  11. I read her entire blog and now that I'm done I miss it. It's been a while since I've seen any episodes and not even sure if I've seen the 2nd season, so I'll be watching for reruns to get caught up. I love the life they've built, how they remain steadfast in their faith and are grateful for it all.
  12. This was really interesting to us, my husband has family in Westport & that's where we got married :) When I saw that the episode was going to be in Grays Harbor County I never really thought they'd do Westport - it's really just a tiny fishing village and most of the houses (trailers) aren't very nice but property is very expensive. The couple and their kids were really nice and it was interesting to see what they could do themselves. That being said - $19k for the whole reno? Even doing most, if not all, of the work themselves it seems a pretty low figure. Compare that to Love it or List it where they have budgets many times that amount yet can't seem to fit everything in lol. I'm always amazed at how much can be done with a given amount of money depending on which show you're watching. Very cute house, very well re-done.
  13. My dad was a master falconer back in the day and knew Tom's brother Jack. I haven't seen this, will have to look for it. Thanks -
  14. No worries. Thanks for trying. We will try YouTube - anything until we pony up for an OTA recorder :)
  15. I know :( 'Cutting the cable/satellite cord' is spendy. We'll check out YouTube, thank you. We have the cloud dvr but our ota channels are on an antenna so I didn't think it would pick that up. It does record just like the dvr we had from directv, when tv is off, etc., so far that's worked out. It's just the local antenna channels. There's no option to record for the channel we get Jeopardy! on, that I can see...
  16. Wasn't sure where was the best place to ask this but - In an effort to 'cut the cord' we got rid of satellite tv, got an antenna and roku/sling - so am now without a way to record Jeopardy! which comes on before I get home from work :( (at least until we spring for an over the air dvr) Did I see someone say on the main thread that we can watch current episodes on YouTube? I MISS it!
  17. Cheated! That's exactly how I felt, thanks! Good point. Would love to know the answer to that and I hope there are no more of these episodes :/
  18. I can ask on another thread but can't remember - was it Beachfront Bargain Hunt (?) this past weekend where the couple looked and at the end decided to keep looking? That shouldn't even make the cut. I watch to see which place is chosen - reach a decision, not to see that they've decided to "keep looking" and not to feel that's 30 minutes wasted.
  19. I lived in NC for 20+ years and I never heard anyone talk that way, either. Talk about stereotyping.
  20. And some of the acts they allow in the auditions......
  21. Amen to all the above. I'm sure she's a very nice person but her day has been over for a long time. Jessie and others have long surpassed her; move on already.
  22. Same can be said for British vs American baking shows.
  23. Thanks for creating the thread, I didn't see one, either. Sibling band - I guess I'm getting old. I could barely understand a word they sang and, as sad/touching as the story was, I didn't think the guy could sing that well. Sad story doesn't equal talent. Card guy and comic have potential if they continue to improve. I usually don't care for animal acts, but those cats were pretty good :) Agree on the guy who wanted to be a judge....what's up with that? Wasted time. I don't see the point of including acts that have already won something else - dancers/creepy girl. Kinda like Pif the Magic Dragon a year or two ago - he was already pretty well known. Oh well.
  24. No threads for the new season?
