S17.E25: Denver Reunion, Part 2
Retired at last replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in Married At First Sight
I am trying to think of any woman I have disliked more than Emily and I can 't think of anyone. what a HORRIBLE person, and completely phony (or delusional). Between the smirks and the interrupting and having to get a nasty comment in at the end of each sentence, I don't think she will have to worry about finding a relationship anytime soon. I know I am in the minority, but I totally believe the men. However, the show has encountered the scripts between couples all the time, so I am not sure why this is such a big deal. We always hear about strategies between the couples to not share certain things. Maybe it's different because they were all in on it? Clareapist is a liar, every bit as much as Emily is. Becca is just a sad, lost person, who, I don't think will find someone without serious therapy (and NOT from Clareapist). Another unpopular opinion is that I do not like Lauren and never have. She is so cold, and uses that stupid psychobabble to tell "her truth" and her "authentic" garbage. The first half of the show seemed OK, but then it was all of the trendy language that means NOTHING, but she thinks she sounds professional. She doesn't. She was smirking the whole time, too, and thinking that she is, oh, so much better than the others. Although, she would have been miserable with Orion, as would anyone, including the person he supposedly is dating (which I don't believe). Chloe and Michael were absolutely the most mature and they took the high road. I still don't like them and I think they were just more adult, but I appreciated that they didn't get down in the mud, and I look forward to seeing what broke the bond with Chloe and Lauren. And, yes, many people DID want to see Lauren and Michael get together, so what's the big deal? Chloe was no longer his wife. So, in spite of it all, I guess I will give it one more week. Sigh. I did NOT watch the recap (another one???) after the show. And, I did not need to see KNP back with those asinine polling questions. This was the most I have liked seeing Kevin host. After he started taking sides (Jake/Haley), I was done with him. But, he redeemed himself this time for me. The ship was gone a long time ago, but I do think that Cam would have wanted to see if there was "anything there" if Clareapist had been the least bit interested. She made it clear that she wasn't. All in all, this season of Emily has been a disaster. Since the Chicago show has already been filmed, I wonder if they changed anything, such as all of the group meetings and activities. -

It doesn't start here for a while. Is it all about Emily or do the other women speak? All I saw in the preview was Clarapist sitting there with that nasty smirk on her face and Becca just nodding and saying her favorite word, "yeah." -

I MAY watch tonight. Generally, I don't like Kevin Frazier, but it does look interesting tonight. And, of course, Becca is agreeing with everything he says. -

About the two-part shows. . . I think they were all filmed at the same time and then the show cut up the segments to make them fit the 2 hours. I don't think they filmed it twice. -

This sounds like every episode so far. And we need two parts for this????? And then the Where Are They Now? episode? Are they kidding???? ETA -I just saw a clip from the Reunion show, so I don't know if that is a spoiler because it hasn't aired yet, so I put it in a spoiler box, even though the preview was on regular TV, so anyone could have seen it. -
S.17 Former Cast Tell-All
Retired at last replied to Retired at last's topic in Married At First Sight
I saw most of it (between commercials for other shows). I couldn't remember Rachel's name, but when they played a few scenes with her and Jose, I remembered. Sadly, they didn't show Jose's budgeting whiteboard - that was funny. But, Rachel appears to me to not be very bright. Maybe it is the way her voice is, but she just sounds stupid. Stacia went all out in her look, as usual. I did have to laugh when someone suggested that she should get a dog. Can you imagine Stacia's reaction if the dog shed or peed in the house? At least, Stacia said NO. She also isn't dating and is fine with that. She never talks to Nate and he ghosted her at their last counseling session. Bennet was fun. He spoke in a lot of word salads, but he was amusing. Airris was the same. I don't even remember his wife. Although I didn't watch their season, I thought that Jamie and Doug were weird. They were so wrapped up in each other physically, I am not sure of who was keeping the other one from running away. Every time they changed to a new position, it was still their hands were gripping each other or Doug had his hand on Jamie's leg, etc. I would rather they had on a different couple who were still married, but I understand the OG status. They spoke a little about the current season, but didn't have anything I remembered, so it probably wasn't interesting. I anticipate that this week's discussion will be very limited, since most people didn't watch. ETA- Oh yeah, Paige. She spoke in her calm hippie-type voice with lots of trendy language. Ugh. She did seem very happy, though. She said she is in a healthy relationship, but they aren't married. Doug offered to officiate when they do. -
My guide says Former MAFS cast members return to reveal behind the scenes gossip and insider information on what really happened during their seasons and beyond. My thoughts - this COULD be interesting, depending on who they get and what scoop they will allow.

As far as Xander forgiving Theresa goes, kidnapping is low on the list once he finds out that she was behind the whole "let's change Victor's will so we can decide who gets the money and to learn that he is a true heir and Victor's son" plot. And, just when is that going to happen or have they forgotten that completely? Going back to California will be too good for her, but she sure can't stay in Salem. (Although, if she ever leaves, does that mean that suddenly Gwen will be back? I hope not, but it probably does.)

Seriously - are those April Fool's spoilers? They can't be real.

S17.E23: Second Time's the Charm?
Retired at last replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in Married At First Sight
I am just guessing that they signed the usual 8 week contract, plus the obligatory Afterparty episodes and the Reunions and Where Are They Now Shows. Because they had to extend the season (although I still don't know why) because of Michael and Chloe, I am guessing that they had the option of filming those extra shows, probably for more money and air time. The cast had agreed to those set dates and once the show started, I don't think the show could extend the dates of requiring them to be there. These people have jobs and lives and had to get back to them. I am sure they would be welcome to attend if they were available, but I don't think they could be required to. Even Clarapist didn't come, and she LOVES her air time. If Cam didn't have to attend, nothing could get him to be there. I think the same with Brennan. I don't know why Austin came. -

PLEASE, let's not compare Chris to any of the men this season. He was a total ass, had another woman (maybe) while he was married to Paige, who he kept screwing (although I think Paige was an idiot to allow it). None of the men took advantage, sexually, of the situation this season, although their wives would have been more than willing to participate. And I do respect that. I don't think we will ever have a participant as totally despicable as Chris was. At least, no one that I will ever watch. -

To all of you who are lamenting that we are missing some of the cast - never fear - in 2 weeks, we get to see them all return for the Reunion show! (Even though they haven't been apart, we will get to see everyone rehash what has happened since D Day, and how the women are still mad at the men and how the men don't care. Except for Orion, who is probably going to try to get Lauren to like him again. -

Juan and Karla are hot. That's all I've got. No one who looks like that are on this show for "the right reason" unless the right reason is now influencer clicks. Allen is already checked out and couldn't even smile for his photo. Maybe he is waiting for the recruitment check to clear. Madison looks like she is going to be a lot to deal with and I hope she is better with her extensions than Emily was. David must be playing this season's man with stupid hair role. Michelle is not going to be impressed. The top two couples might be somewhat normal, although I have absolutely NO idea how to pronounce Ikechi and Emem. -

Thanks @atomic. Having seen another video that showed Emily's IG posts where she said that she was very open about the hookup and didn't deny it, the show chose not to show that. It just goes to show how little of this show was based in any kind of truth. -

I fell asleep during both times the show was on, but I don't think I will watch the rest. Was there anything good in the Afterparty? I realized what I don't like about Michael and Chloe - it looks to me like she is his mother. She looks much older than he is, although I know that is not the case. I may try finding their segment and watch how he rejects her - I did see her say she wanted to see what there could be, so they should stay married. And the show continues to torment Becca by "forcing" them all to keep getting together, when she still wants to be with Austin. I think her rationale that, "she is not the right person for him and he should be able to find someone to make him happy" is totally screwed up. She is taking the blame for not being what HE wants, when she can't bring herself to actually say, even now, that HE is not what she wants and that SHE deserves to be happy. She still wants his lying ass because he is so hot. Becca needs a lot of post-show counseling (NOT from Clarapist) to find some little tidbit of her self-esteem. I also do not ever want to see Lauren or Orion again. Ever. This show had way too much of them and there is no reason for that. Lauren is also over-the-top with her trendy language and just needs to go away. That will "protect" her from "feeling attacked" again. She is as much to blame in keeping Orion engaged as he is in trying to respond to a text that needed no response. She is over him - he needs to get that in his stupid head and leave her alone. None of the guys seem to like him particularly, either. He was a horrible person to have cast. I may have to watch the Reunion to see that scoop about Clarapist being involved with someone and choosing to do the show anyway. Nice vetting, show. There were also rumors about Austin being in that same situation. So, next week a filler panel of past participants AGAIN. No thanks. See you in a couple weeks. Let's see how many of us are still around! ETA- I am now fully onboard with the "Emily's accident was a big fake out." since there was no scar, or even a tiny red mark where all those stitches supposedly were on her face/forehead. -

This is the first time they have had to extend the pain show past D Day, and that is because of the late arrival of Michael and Chloe. I don't understand why they couldn't just tape their D Day and show it in one session. They have finished filming long before this, so they are just extending it because they can. And, according to the schedule, this stupid thing will have the expected 2-part Reunion, which I don't understand, because they are still together all the time. And, then the Where are they Now show, which, I hope, shows that they have all moved on. I think there is probably another panel show of the season in review, too. -

Make it stop!!!! Except for Orion, NONE of the men want anything to do with their exes, so that will be an easy decision. (Well, except for Becca, who is still waffling about how she shouldn't have kicked her lying husband out.) And, could they get any more dramatic about the Michael/Chloe debacle? We already know that Chloe will turn on the fake tears and dab at her face. Maybe she will try to compromise by taking fewer foster children, although then there will be less help with the animals. -
S17.E22: Doubts, Dilemmas and Drag!
Retired at last replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in Married At First Sight
Just a random thought. . . you know how production always finds problems for couples to have during the show - like if one spouse won't say, "I love you," or if they can't agree on where to live, etc. And those issues all magically get resolved at or right before Decision Day. So, what if "trying to protect her" is Brennan's assigned story and he is sticking to his script? Maybe it was obvious that they weren't going to make it, so they went this route? Yeah, I don't think so, either, but it did occur to me. -

All I remember is when I heard him say, almost as an aside, that he thought 30 was a bit too old to be a party girl. Or maybe he said partying, not sure. But, I did hear that. -

Most of the "tea" from that video was from Emily's IG entries and over who really had the texts that Becca was challenging Cam about. If the texts were between Cam and Clarapist, then what was Emily doing with them? Anyway, the only other thing I heard was what we had already figured out - that Becca and Austin went in to D Day to say NO, but then production intervened and either gave them more money to say yes, or something, but their D Day show was re-shot with the yes answer. Like I said, I think we all knew that. Oh, also Emily said in her IG posts that she was very open about the hook up with the Aussie guy and discussed it on the show a few times and never tried to hide it. Well, it seems like production wiped any mention of that out, since we never saw or heard anything about that. In summary - there is NOTHING real about this reality show. -

I think that Brennan just said that he thought that being in their 30's was a little late to still be a party girl. At the time, I thought he was just referring to her drinking. But, if Emily actually said that she enjoyed one-night stands, then I am sure that also added to his distain. She is like Virginia from a few seasons ago, who didn't want to give up partying, although she was in her 20s, I think. In fact, we even referred to her as VirGINia.
