Dammit, I hate when lawyer/cop shows get sloppy with the law. This show does it far too often. Dead judge's clerk "He lost the malpractice case, but brought a civil suit." Um, no, they're the same thing. "Legal fees, no cash settlement." Um, no, an unsuccessful plaintiff doesn't get awarded their costs.

In Canada, degree granting institutions are called universities. Colleges grant diplomas and certificates. Kids talk about going to university, your parents harp on you about going to university.... Not college. A Canadian tv show should know that, just like they should know we say Grade 9, Grade 10, etc rather than Freshman, Sophomore... I like the British practice of calling it "Uni".

Even more product placement when Jen mentioned at least three times the name of the app Will uses to learn the alphabet. She must not have said it clearly, because the name escapes me (MS Something), but it was pretty obviously scripted when she said "Will, let's play with your MS Whatever app. You really like MS Whatever, don't you?"

Just watched an older episode of an American couple moving to Hong Kong. The woman was of Chinese descent, but had always lived in the US. They were obsessed with their dog, Lucy. The realtor kept explaining that pet dogs weren't really a "thing" in Hong Kong (insert obvious joke), that dog parks were rare, etc. They focused on which apartment Lucy would like, and in the closing shot, the female HH was at a yoga class. With the dog. FFS.

Silly me, of course they're awesome. I used dried cherries instead of cranberries. The pinch of Fleur de Sel is a nice touch, but, like most of Ina's recipes, the predominant flavour is butter. It's a good thing.
