  1. Love your post. Only one correction...and it's said with respect. It's actually Kim Nam Joon (RM) who speaks English and acts as their translator. But all them understand English to a certain extent and can speak words and phrases here and there. They are actually hilarious and very personable, which is one reason their fan base is as rabid (but mostly very positive, respectful, and do a lot of good deeds - just like the band itself) as it is.
  2. As an old lady BTS fan from California, I can assure you they are singing/rapping their main parts. They do use a "guide" and backing track (some of which was Halsey on the first song), but their main parts they do sing live always. As a fan, I can hear the differences in the parts and voice live. The second song, Mic Drop, they sounded pretty winded compared to the recorded versions (there are like 3). They also rarely sing the version with the English chorus, so I was really impressed that they were able to do that today. They must have practiced a LOT as only one of them speaks English well. They work really hard and are very good role models. They are also all very talented and continue to work on their voice. They also write a lot of their music/lyrics/rap.
  3. Totally agree and very well said. Actually when she first started this social warrior bullshit, I thought it WAS because of polygamy since all the older kids seemed against it at that point. But nope. More fool me to think ANYONE on the TLC tit would actually speak out. Let alone this one. I know some of the other kids have taken a stance (Well, Logan is kind of it, I guess)... Okay, I can't even finish that sentence because Logan is really the only one. Feel free to set me straight.
  4. The problem with this to me is that she doesn't seem to accept that her mother is repressed in any way. She acts like Kody does no wrong. I get that she may be mad at Meri for not listening to her about the catfish and also for not owning up to her role afterward. But somehow I don't think that Mariah would be any different about the catfish if Meri came right out and said "I am miserable in this marriage...especially since your father divorced me and ignores me. I did look for love and yes, I should have known it was too good to be true, but I was blinded by feeling like, for once, I was important to someone." Meri's a bitch, married to a narcissist and her daughter takes after both her parents, but mostly her dad IMO.
  5. Does anyone believe the bullshit about the two rental houses being the same price? They just don't want Robyn getting any backlash.
  6. Thanks for clarifying. I appreciate it.
  7. I'm confused by this comment. Are you suggesting that Daniel Dae Kim has had facial reconstruction surgery? Or perhaps Tamlyn Tomita or Christina Chang since you generalized "Asians". South Korea is known for their plastic surgery industry, but only one member of BTS, Kim Nam-joon, has had facial reconstruction surgery for a deviated septum. Your comment just seems very generalized (stereotypical?) and not pertinent to discussion regarding the episode or show hence my confusion. But back on topic, I was having very mixed feelings about whether Dr. Han was a dick or not, but the end did solidify it for me. What a dick. I really teared up through the baby storyline and also due to the depression aspect. Claire handled it beautifully. Antonia Brown is a great actor.
  8. And didn't she have the nerve to countersue him for their value? I'm pretty sure she did. Unbelievable.
  9. It's not that simple. Many employers in California have rules against recreational drug use and one is notified of that and that they may be subject to random drug tests when hired. It's a condition of employment at many places. Doesn't matter if it's a legal drug. As your term of employment you agreed to not do drugs. I'm assuming many hospitals have this.
  10. I mean, it's not a trope when it's about a real person. And actually, being the mother of a "mulatto", there is a lot of truth in the trope. I'm only on the first episode, but I'm liking it enough so far.
  11. I comment on this to my daughter every time they show old footage of Mike. He looks so crazy. It's in his eyes and his demeanor.
  12. I agree. It's really sad. Part of it is Jon's fault but there is no question in my mind that Kate has poisoned their minds. The twins should sit down with a therapist and binge watch the series. I think now that they're old enough to try to see the bigger picture, they'll see how horrible Kate was to Jon and the kids, especially Colin.
  13. Personally, neither has Christine. None of them really. lol And nice to see Christine got Meri's wet bar. I bet that's going over really well. haha
  14. I agree 99%. I did think the dog was cute. But it's horrible to breed and also clone! when there are so many wonderful animals in shelters.
  15. They met when Glassman barged into her apartment trying to find Shaun after they had a fight or something last season. She did call him Glassy to Shaun on their road trip, but hell no to her saying it to his face. I really loved the ep though. Great interactions most of the way around.
  16. I actually was a bit insulted on Adam's behalf by Jason's repeated "if I was there then Adam would be alive". It was demeaning of a dead man's ability and decision. And I loved the creed at the end, but would rather Jason didn't get the god-like silhouette entry, nor take the place of the poor guy who was actually on the mission and just saw his teammate die. But yes, it's Jason's show.
  17. I felt this was part of Glassman's guilt over possibly mishandling his daughter's drug addiction and it also fits S1. He feels guilty that he didn't give Maddie the attention/care she needed and her hallucination is an expression of that guilt. That's one reason he's always almost micro-managed Shaun's life/career until Shaun told him to stop it. Because he feels like he didn't do ENOUGH for Maddie. But it also parallels that he thought HE was enough to keep her drug use from getting worse so he's tried to be there for Shaun in any possible way. But when Shaun told him to stop and he knew he was dying, he drew back too much because he suddenly realized that Shaun, like Maddie needed some outside sources of help the Glassman wasn't providing access to before because he wanted to be there for Shaun. I think I confused myself now. haha Great episode though.
  18. I really liked Norma for the most part. But there is some serious disconnect that she, an educated woman, can't see the issues with what she was saying. But like others, I did appreciate seeing her side of the story. I had heard of the evictions and apostates moving in through news articles and frankly thought it was great. But there are always two sides to a story and I do feel sorry for families who lost their lands and homes.
  19. I hope and pray that at least some of the kids will come to realize that this was not all Jon's fault. I have a good friend who is a borderline narcissist and her daughter would never say a word against her. Now that she's 20, she's having a hard time because in her eyes, her mom is a terrible narcissist. It'll all even out in the end. Hopefully.
  20. Actually, what saddens me the most is that Alexa and Cara were always way more like Jon and close to him. I can only imagine the emotional blackmail that must have gone on to turn them from Jon. Granted, Jon is responsible for at least some of that for acting like a dick post-divorce, but after being under Kate's leash for so long, I can't really find any hate for him. And if he frees even Hannah and Collin?? He'll almost reach sainthood. He was always the better parent to all the kids IMO until the divorce and losing his mind for awhile. But that's what being a famewhore does to you.
  21. I'd much rather have Jared back and see more develop with his relationship with Shaun. Mixed on Lea and definitely don't want Reznick.
  22. You said it much better than I could, so this x100!
  23. This is my life right now. Except it's an apartment and the last 3 renters in the apartment next to mine have been evicted. The one who lives there now moved in and hasn't paid any rent (she moved in in November and aside from the deposit, has not paid 1 dime. haha). They filed eviction last month, but she's suing them saying they're trying to evict her because of her health. lol
  24. I hope that Tracey makes it. I really like him; he doesn't seem be an entitled assdouche like most of the addicts we see on this show. Regarding Taylor, girlfriend makes $4,000 a week (right?) and I get that she spends it all on dope but it really sucks that someone is paying for her to get her teeth fixed. It actually seems enabling to me. I work full time for the State and can't afford to have everything done to fix my teeth, even with insurance. Must be nice to be a pretty, dope fiend.
