  1. Totally agree. The Kardashians started all this fame whoring for sure. Sad.
  2. Oh, absolutely. I have no love or regard for any of them (well, maybe a few of the kids). And the thought that so many people find them "inspiring" and "amazing" makes me want to barf.
  3. If you go with the most current and popular use of "red pill", it means being awakened to something you were not previously aware of. And usually that something is believed to be a huge sin, manipulation, etc. So personally I think he's saying that someone (Robyn IMO) has awakened him to the realization that some of his other "marriages" were in fact, someone manipulating and controlling him into believing/doing something that he wouldn't have wanted to do had he 'known the truth'. And/or the person who manipulated him is a horrible person/sinner who he would never have been involved in had he known this at the time. Honestly, it's just another mechanism for him to dump the wives he's grown tired of and not accept any blame or REALITY of this completely fucked up situation. He's the hero, see? Not the 2.5 wives he's strung along for years and manipulated with this fake-religion bullshit, and ignored at best/abused (verbally/mentally) at worst. He and Robyn are disgusting. YMMV
  4. I do too now that I am 100 lbs overweight (and oh. my. god. that is so hard to type!). Which I think is more like Janelle's redness than Janelle's redness is to yours. haha I WISH I could break and stack four pallets! Talk about a great crossfit workout! Good on you!
  5. Yeah, my first thought was apparently her breast milk is NOT the good stuff. But I guess when you are as overweight as these two, you live vicariously (and unhealthily) through the weight loss of your baby daughter. Not a great parenting look.
  6. I volunteer as tribute. If it's the San Francisco Bay Area anyway. I'm pretty good at paparazzi photography. lol
  7. Exactly. 'Healthy "glow"' should have been 'Healthy" glow'.
  8. I was wondering if maybe moving Christine and Truley to Utah was the excuse for this family reunion. Janelle and the kids help Christine get out of dodge so Truley could settle in for school?
  9. So apparently Christine's home just went up for sale. Is she finally going to leave this asshole and move to Utah? Or will she be joining Janell in the RV at Prairie Plague Pond?
  10. I think almost everyone (myself included) really wants whatever caused Gabe to get fired to be something not...ugly. Because he cooks amazingly and seems pretty nice! Maybe he repeatedly gave away free drinks and food. That would wear on an owner because it's technically stealing. Who knows? P.S. Not saying it's okay to skim money off your employer!
  11. Exactly. Redo this just a little bit so it can really hit you: One teen daughter is living in an RV on a dirt patch with no hookups/electricity while just a little bit away her half-siblings and step siblings are living in a "mansion" with each having their own rooms and all the showers, baths, and (assuming) heat and a/c their little hearts desire. This is just not right. I can give a flying fuck about what Janelle chooses to do, but I can't believe this is the best option for Savannah. Between this and Janelle turning her daughter into her emotional support animal, I really am starting to hate her. Normally I just laugh these clods off but it's becoming less easy to do so.
  12. I saw this stuff on Reddit. Personally, I think Gabe was in the right in this incident. However, note that this incident happened in March 2020 and he was fired how many months later? So this may have been a small part of his "continuous" problems, but this is definitely not what resulted in him being fired. I like Gabe on the show for the most part and also think he is a good chef. But there is something just a little "off" for me. But it could just be because I've heard of the firing.
  13. If this is true, it's is borderline child neglect/abuse to me. If Janelle wants to do this, fine. But her father or bonus moms should make sure Savanna has a proper home to live in. Janelle can suck rocks.
  14. Luckily I have a World Market near me, so I'll try that first. :) Although someday I really would love a trip to the UK!
  15. I looked it up and now I want some! But only the British kind with real sugar. :) I love chutneys and it sounds delicious.
  16. Please stop yelling. And please show me where this is a "rule of the show" that each plate has to have every single component exactly the same. It is a mistake to not get everything on every plate, yes. But the only rule as I understand it is that each judge must have a plate in order for the chef to not be disqualified. If the chef doesn't put the same basic dish on each plate, that might be an issue. But if it's obviously the same dish with one or even more components missing, I do not believe that breaks any rules. It is poor time management and attention to detail, but it is still a qualifying plate and can be then judged on how it meets the challenge and on its quality, etc. I do not understand your references to Chopped. I am watching and commenting on Top Chef, not Chopped. I have never watched that show. References to it in this context are meaningless.
  17. You just ruined your own argument. "She's left a component off her dish FOUR times for the judges." and "Top Chef is not cumulative - at this point she's getting by just because she's cooked good food previously." If Top Chef is not cumulative, then they are only judging Dawn on the dish she puts out in each, single episode. And in their minds, her dish(es) was/were not the worst dish of the challenge even without the missing ingredient. For all we know, they may have said "okay, everyone, you cannot count the [missing component] in tonight's judging." The only requirement is that you plate the number required for the judges. If you miss stuff on some or all, they can still judge for meeting the challenge and quality. I trust that they are doing just so. And saying "And the reason I brought it up, was because the main redeeming quality of Dawn's edit so far has been her experience as a POC." is really not true at all. She has cooked very good food in almost every episode, missing components or not. For me, that's the "most redeeming quality of Dawn's edit". Except she doesn't need redeeming.
  18. There is a food truck near me (at least there was pre-pandemic) that serves the most delicious apple, brie, and nut grilled cheese! To die for.
  19. It's Will-amnit Damnit! Is what my sister always says to me when I mispronounce it. I'm getting better, but only because every time I see Willamette anything I hear "it's Will-amnit Damnit!" in my mind.
  20. They both come up in Lake O and Tigard, as far as I know anyway. :) But I know my friend's mom's house in Tigard comes up as Portland with her zip code.
  21. Thank you for the extended explanation! I always appreciate learning! I do know that it's made with silken Tofu. I buy mine at the Korean store and it comes in a long tube instead of the normal container. I absolutely love it. I also have heard that it is considered a stew, but the liquid (in every version I have had from multiple restaurants and also homemade from a couple different Korean recipes) is very thin - which is more like soup to me - so I guess it's hard for my brain to reconcile it as a stew. :-) Fun fact: I used to dislike Tofu because I had really only had the firm or extra firm varieties. In fact, I used to think they were more palatable. One day, I found myself in San Francisco at Japantown on the day of the annual Tofu Festival. For some reason, normally antisocial me joined in and was chosen for a contest. Each person had to drink a cup of (very high quality) silken tofu through a straw. The one who did it the fastest won a price. I got second (and a smaller prize) and discovered that I found high quality softer tofu delicious! I also agree with the person upthread who suggested adding tofu to other proteins in Thai food. I have to have tofu in my Thai food.
  22. It's gorgeous at night. It definitely has a lot of ugly (just like San Francisco) but there are some really gorgeous parts. My sister lives in Lake Oswego and my cousin lives in Tigard. Both beautiful southern suburbs of the city.
  23. That is only for vegan/vegetarian eaters. My personal favorite is Korean Soondubu Jjigae. Tofu Soup. I absolutely love it. If you get it in a Korean restaurant, it almost always has some diced meat in it. When I make it I add extra mushrooms instead of meat (or will add pork belly or bacon if I'm feeling bad). It's so so good.
  24. I wondered about this too. Maybe Christine or one of the other "moms" got butt hurt that Tony's mom was being "honored". Although it seemed like his mom having a similar name was kind of an happy coincidence that made her feel better about the name for some reason? Maybe she was just never that crazy about Marie as a middle name?
