House Hunters International - General Discussion
Grrarrggh replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in House Hunters International
The NZ woman annoyed me the way all people do who think an older house always means it will be falling apart. Just because it wasn't built yesterday or because it isn't white/grey doesn't mean it's going to fall down on top of you or that you'll need to be fixing something every day. -
There are people who enjoy a bit more fancy in their pool parties. I've seen pool houses with picture frame moulding.
-
I can't stand all these owners who claim they want something unique, or colourful, or "jazzy" only to end up with white/grey/black what EVERYONE else has and yet are happy about it.
-
Are the crew required to get stupidly drunk every single night? You'd think a few more (ahem Gary, Sydney, Alli, JL, Dani, yikes that's nearly everyone) would realise that alcohol isn't making things more fun. In fact it's really bring everything down, between the stupid things they do/say and the hangovers the next day. (ha that rhymes!)

I don't give a crap about her husband or seeing her own house (though it does warn me that she's not a real designer considering how her place looks) and PLEASE keep those poor children off television. Let them have some privacy.
-
Why do people claim white kitchens (shaker only apparently) is so classic? If that was so, all of these houses would already have white cabinets. I also can't believe how high these renos are. They barely do anything and it's more than $50k!!
-
Ugh, sooo many things wrong with this episode, where to start? First, they couldn't tell the type of car from the video?!! Second, having Kasie blame herself because Gibbs is a willing moron?!! Third, why did the prosecutor bring such a weak case to court?! Fourth, does the team know how to do nothing without Gibbs there?!?! All around crap episode, which seems all too usual for this programme. Who was the knitting woman in court?

I wonder where the foster couple moved from? And if they only moved because they were getting a free reno?
-
It's recorded under a different name than the normal Home Towns. It's called Home Town Takeover.
-
I'm afraid this is all going to end up benefiting HGTV and their actors more than the town. Or it will benefit only the richer (and whiter) of the town.
-
What design decisions? Everything looks the same in every house.

I completely believe the media would turn on a teenage girl without any proof. In a way, that's the most believable part of the storyline so far.

True aghst. As a serious arachnophobe I probably do have a slightly different opinion on what is a deadly dangerous part of nature than others :) -

Seriously??! If the past four years have taught me anything it's that when it comes to certain people there will never be enough horrible things to ruin their names. -

A healthier truth would be that there are gay people in every family and they haven't been allowed to admit that. Sadly, Michelle probably feels having a child molester is better. -

The Anchorage transplant to NZ is going to get a bit of a shock if she thinks there's nothing in nature to kill her there. I wonder if she had SAD, since light seemed soooo important. -

That's not arrogance, it's narcissism. -
I'm glad that FBI writers pointed out the police mixed with mental illness all to often ends in death, but they whipped out any good work that could have done by making the brother violent. Paranoid schizophrenics are less likely than healthy people to be violent. Much less likely.

It's almost as if HGTV execs heard viewers were bored with nearly everything being open concept white/grey shaker and said, "Hmmmm, well lets show this wacko designer experimenting on the poor! Mwhahahaha!!!"

I normally rate anyone baying for open concept right up there with Gargamel, but I found myself really like her. -
If that's true it makes it even worse. Based on just the programme, it seems as if they're doing it all on their own, aside from the sale itself. If locals are helping that's insulting.

It's always discomforted me that the teams mothers meant nothing. It was always fathers that we heard about and met.
-
I don't because that effects innocents more than it does the rapist.

I wish the NCIS writers would stay away from any hints of romance. They have to be in the top 5 of worse romance writers ever. Zeva and Tony exhibits number 1 through 10000000.

I really liked the Columbus couple. Their "arguments" were obviously full of love and jokes. I hope he succeeds in bringing back the fanny pack!
