I've always liked Sammy Davis Jr, but his life struggling to fit into the entertainment world as a Black man was sad, then his later life and money problems were sad Press release for Secrets of the Dead new season of 6 episodes http://thefutoncritic.com/news/2021/09/27/secrets-of-the-dead-returns-with-six-new-episodes-wednesdays-october-20-november-24-on-pbs-525412/20210927pbs01/ I finally finished "Future of Work" and what a great and informative 3 part series that was. Also, pretty downbeat if you don't have employment with a solid company. I feel bad for gig workers more than I did before (and I will especially avoid even working part-time for those companies now that I'm retired). The show covered a lot of areas about employment as we go into the future. The pandemic upended a lot of things, but a lot was already changing with jobs and workers. I'm just glad I'm retired now, but this has affected and will affect a lot of people Just to note, I think the only PBS shows that exist separately as their own topics, at least for docs, are Frontline, Independent Lens, and POV

Aw, they killed Jackson. And apparently the actor, who left after last season, didn’t want to come back to film that scene so they used a stand-in

I haven't watched the doc yet, but I'm guessing yes; in fact, the FDA has investigated them a few times -
From yesterday's episode, a baby Rhino is the cutest thing

I’m not sure how I feel about this show just yet. I think I liked at least some of what was going on in all 3 timelines but I’m not sure I really followed what was going on and that will likely be the biggest problem going forward, and that execution can be tricky. It seems almost as complex as “Awake” in its own way and I had a lot of trouble following that show

The new Britney doc was eye opening though not that surprising given what we’ve already seen plus what we’ve heard from Britney herself. Obviously you have to take everything with a grain of salt and the truth is likely somewhere in the middle, but it certainly seemed to a lot of us that Britney seemed over-controlled all these years and a lot of people felt the conservatorship itself was probably overkill. Kudos to the filmmakers for making a follow up doc to Framing Britney Spears -
I don’t think it’s clear on whether the 60th will be a special or a clump of things, just that the 60th anniversary will be celebrated in 2023 and then a series

Series 13 Production News, Spoilers, Speculation Discussion

Note, also posted in the Media thread -
The press release makes it sounds like maybe he's only going to do the 60th and Season 14, but assuming I'm parsing it right, it might mean he'll then step back and do spinoffs. He seemed very interested in that over the years since he was showrunner previously and actually talked about the need for a Doctor Who multi-verse in an interview a few weeks ago And to add, I'm very excited he's back. I was somewhat indifferent to Series 1 and Chris E. (though maybe due to watching that years after the fact), but I really enjoyed most of David Tennant's era (with Series 3 and 4 being favorites over Series 2) and David is my second favorite Doctor over Jodie

It's nice that the lady playing Natalie came back to do the opening scene to help with some closure

I'm not sure I agree. They certainly seem to be portraying Coulter as a little obsessed with getting something on Clinton and acting like he's the only one to ever sully the office of President. Drudge just seems like a wannabe journalist, a little creepy and a schlub

About time -
I actually do hope Phyllis sticks around and lives in Port Charles and works as a nurse at GH. Except for acting as a prop in Mike's Nixon Falls storyline, I like the actress and character
-
I only knew that was her when Coulter saw her and called her "Laura" and then called her "Ingraham" Everyone fluttering around Monica and Paula trying to use them are just yuck
-
Can't believe Tom didn't recognize Jerry Rice, especially since his wife is such a sports nut
-
Geeze, both Monica and Bill were being pathetic, but affairs are messy and I’m sure trying to end one is messy too, especially if one of them is married and a politician I can’t quite understand why Linda was so adamant that Kathleen Willey was happy about her brush with Clinton when it seems like she hates Clinton. And she was pushing Monica to continue the affair because she liked the drama so much? Hey Ann Coulter, you know there were scummy presidents having affairs long before Clinton. She acted like Clinton was the first one to do it I didn’t realize that was Matt Drudge in the opening scene (boy was he acting creepy) until he was shown working on the Drudge Report website. And Linda bringing up the Drudge Report at her work computer and it coming up slowly made me laugh. Yes, websites were that slow in the 90s What a scummy husband Paula had. And she continues to be used by people

Those twins were creepy i liked the two new doctors
