FYI, I do a monthly highlights post of PBS programs in the PBS topic under Network Talk, including Frontline programs

Bit of PR puffery for 3.8 million viewers and a 0.8 in the 18-49 demo. A halfway decent number given the times, but it should have been higher given the preceding OT post game show had over 9 million viewers and 2.4 in the demo (I don’t know the doubleheader ratings)

The Doctors (Talk Show) - General Discussion
DanaK replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Doctors (Talk Show)
Did anyone else lose the show on their local channel with the new season? Wikipedia says it’s canceled for sure. It’s been replaced in my neck of the woods with a couple of court shows, which is not an improvement -

Even if the showrunner says it’s not a bait and switch to kill off your supposedly major star lead in the first episode, it sure feels like it, especially if Sarandon is only going to be in a few episodes this season And I hate that the show started 15 minutes early. If you say you are starting after a sports thing and that thing ends early, then start on time and vamp with the sports thing until then. It’s a good thing there was a repeat afterwards and I decided to record it. It’s also a good thing that Fox is repeating the episode several more times this week I haven’t watched the episode in full yet, so I’ll wait to comment further until I do

Yes, it frustrates me as well. The 2 halves don’t fully mesh together for me and it’s a really strange hybrid. I started watching because I thought it would be one thing but it ended up being something else. It’s intriguing but weird and messy. I do appreciate the amount of detail they put into the comedy side though, but I’m not sure they fully thought through about making the 2 sides work together well. Given this season is the end and has 8 episodes, I’m willing to watch it to the end and see how they resolve things

Interesting. And those interviews he did plus the additional crimes he committed makes me agree with you that it was a power trip and he probably either couldn’t help being reckless or he thought he could get away with it. As for seeing the error of his ways, probably just BS to the reporter

Didn’t expect that ending

Finally finished this and it definitely was very interesting. Michael Jordan was a lot with his intensity, but if you are working towards championships, then you have to give your best, though that’s hard to sustain over a long time. At some point people get tired or age and the intensity flickers out

Queen Elizabeth's funeral will be on Monday September 19, so expect the US networks to preempt a lot of programs and cover the funeral in detail and talk about it a whole lot afterwards. Though I guess since there's a 5 hour difference between Eastern Time and the UK, it will depend on when the funeral is in the UK

On the season finale, that was one persistent young man. If he had put all that energy into actually going to medical school or nursing school to become a medical professional, he might have been a decent one. But the theft of that elderly woman's bank account just makes him an outright crook. It's not clear to me whether his pretending to be an osteopath or whatever it was and a holistic medical professional was because that's what he was interested in or because he could just throw a lot of words around and people would believe him and he didn't really have to do real procedures that could harm people

Is it just me or is Commissioner Ashford continually testing Officer Cabrera’s loyalty?

I haven't seen "The Boleyns" series yet but I'm recording it. Not sure when I'll get to it The PBS station WNET that produces PBS's Nature series put out a press release that details the episodes for the 41st season. Sounds like some good stuff coming up https://www.thirteen.org/13pressroom/press-release/nature-returns-for-41st-season-with-stories-of-conservation-and-climate-change-wednesdays-at-8-p-m-beginning-october-19-on-pbs/

The new episode this week about election lies, "Lies, Politics, and Democracy", is the premiere of the 41st season. The Flynn one, "Michael Flynn's Holy War" will premiere October 18. "Putin's Attack on Ukraine: Documenting War Crimes premieres Oct 25

Includes discussion on how they worked on the racism scene and who wrote it

It’s possible there will be another preemption today for coverage of the UK Queen’s passing and King Charles stepping up as the networks are going all in on coverage. We’ll see though as it’s still a few hours away ETA: An ABC journalist during coverage in this current hour indicated ABC will have coverage throughout the day and will be back at 1pm ET to cover King Charles’ speech to the UK, so at least some preemption is likely

Tonight’s episode has been preempted for a special 20/20 episode on Queen Elizabeth’s passing

Preempted in a lot of places in the US for coverage of the Queen’s passing, though reportedly shown in Canada
