  1. Yeah, about that jury. It’s strange we’ve seen nothing of them, but that could be Covid related to keep down the number of people in the courtroom Usual great stuff between Ava and Esme. Esme shouldn’t be making it so personal because it’s raising Ava’s suspicions.
  2. Interesting premiere episode on a pastor turned financial advisor who ran a Ponzi scheme and then faked his own death. Never invest your entire life savings and maybe don’t invest with your minister. People were way too trusting in him, which was especially sad because some trusted him over more professional folk because he was a Christian like them
  3. More stuff from PBS: Judy Woodruff will step away from PBS Newshour to focus on special projects and talking to Americans to learn where we are as a country for the upcoming 2024 elections
  4. More announcements from PBS: Nova will have a sequel to its "Ultimate Space Telescope" doc (about the James Webb Telescope) in 2023 https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/nova-continues-to-follow-the-ultimate-space-telescope-in-special-set-to-premiere-in-2023-on-pbs/ All Creatures Great and Small Season 3 premieres January 8, 2023 at 9pm ET and there will be a Christmas episode Miss Scarlet and the Duke was renewed for a 3rd season, which premieres January 8, 2023, while Season 2 premieres October 16 2022 Mrs. Churchill, a 5 part series on Winston's wife, is being developed
  5. You and me both, and probably every other viewer. I think they clearly wanted viewers to think that
  6. The amount of anger and hysteria directed at Janet was not remotely justified looking back (and probably not even then) about such a quick flash of accidental nudity. And Mooves being out front getting his pound of flesh from Janet when he was secretly harassing women is just horrible. At least he got his justifiable Karma when his bad acts were revealed. That Janet managed to come back from all that is a testament to her hard work and talent
  7. Next doc: “Superspreader”, premiering on Friday, August 19 at 10pm ET on FX and Hulu. The doc looks at a doctor who is probably the most influential spreader of Covid misinformation online http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2022/07/27/fx-sets-the-next-documentary-film-from-the-new-york-times-presents-superspreader-153215/20220727fx01/
  8. Man, those scenes between Esme and Ryan were intense and the best part of today’s episode. Ryan has her wrapped around his little finger and is pulling her strings. She’s still a mini psycho but I actually felt a little sorry for her
  9. Sonny's dressing down of the hotel bartender was kind of weird. He both subtlety threatened him and psychoanalyzed him, the latter of which seemed to impress Nina and which seemed to get to the bartender more.
  10. At this morning's TV Critics Summer session for PBS, PBS chief said during her executive session that PBS is bullish on a second season and they are working towards a renewal
  11. Regarding the PBS press tour and what they will talk about during their various sessions as indicated above, PBS announced other upcoming programming in various press releases: American Experience will do an episode on author Zora Neale Hurston that will premiere in early 2023 https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/pbs-and-american-experience-announce-zora-neale-hurston/ American Masters will do an episode on singer Roberta Flack that will premiere January 24, 2023 https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/american-masters-presents-broadcast-premiere-of-roberta-flack-january-24-on-pbs/ They will also do an episode on Dr. Anthony Fauci that will premiere in Spring 2023 https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/american-masters-tony-a-year-in-the-life-of-dr-anthony-fauci/ PBS has announced they are in production for the second season of Native America, to premiere in 2023 https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/pbs-announces-production-for-season-2-of-native-america-to-premiere-in-2023/ PBS announced the 3 part documentary series (and a digital series as well) Southern Storytellers, set to premiere in Summer 2023 https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/pbs-announces-southern-storytellers/ The following link talks about all 11 new announcements, including digital segments and kids shows https://www.laughingplace.com/w/articles/2022/07/27/tca-pbs-announcements-daniel-tigers-neighborhood-season-6/ Also to note, PBS chief Paula Kerger is talking to the critics in her executive session and has indicated they are bullish on a second season for the Great American Recipe and hope to make a decision soon about renewal
  12. PBS has posted a schedule of their 2 day critics press tour that will take place tomorrow (Wed) and Thursday. Looks like a lot of interesting stuff coming up through the rest of the year https://pressroom.pbs.org/programs/summer-2022-virtual-tca-press-tour
  13. Season 2 premieres Thursday July 28 at 10pm ET on ABC with Whoopi Goldberg returning as narrator. It will be shown on demand and stream on Hulu the next day. Based on the below press release, it sounds like there might be 6 episodes for the season. I rather look forward to the episode on former televangelist Jim Bakker, who has gone off the deep end preaching end of the world stuff and selling crap http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2022/07/25/whoopi-goldberg-takes-viewers-on-a-guided-tour-of-some-of-the-most-stunning-tales-of-deception-when-abc-news-studios-primetime-series-the-con-returns-for-season-two-623524/20220725abc01/
  14. Bad acne maybe? It looks like her skin is clear in the recent interviews What should a true anarchist movement look like, other than chaotic (unless it’s a really small group)?
  15. British actor David Warner has died at 80. Who-wise, he guested in the Series 7 episode “Cold War”, voiced a role in the animated series “Dreamland” and starred in several Big Finish Who audio dramas
  16. Episode 3 had more things of people and things falling apart. Never put all your money and investments in crypto currency; it’s just too risky. Freeman getting pushed aside from planning the annual conference because he was supposedly so bad at actual logistics. That military guy slowly going insane, openly selling cocaine that apparently pissed off other people selling drugs (to the conference attendees) and being killed by some unknown men. What a mess
  17. This is about Princess Diana of course https://www.hbo.com/movies/the-princess
  18. It's not clear if they mean new seasons of the main series or a spinoff. This would be a way to get it seen in more countries, but it's not clear if it would be same day streaming (like AMC+) or a few months after the current series (like HBO Max)
  19. Note that TV Critics will be having their Summer session with networks over the next few weeks, though most will be virtual. PBS will be having theirs (virtually) for a couple of days next week (Th and Fri I think) Highlights for August (check your local listings): POV: "He's My Brother" (family grapples with child w/multiple disabilities), August 1; "President" (the power struggle in Zimbabwe), August 8; "Faya Dayi" (Ethiopian stimulant crop and people harvesting it), premieres August 29 America Outdoors continues with its final 2 episodes, August 2 and 9 The Green Planet has its final episode on August 3 Expedition with Steve Bachshall continues with its final 2 episodes, August 3 and 10 The Great American Recipe continues with its final 2 episodes, August 5 and 12 The Boleyns: A Scandalous Family, which I think is a doc series vs scripted, with 3 episodes on Anne Boleyn's troubled family, premieres August 28 Masterpiece: Guilt, Season 2 (scripted; 4 episodes), premieres August 28
  20. Just to note, the January 6 public hearings are over for now but are set to resume in September. That should eliminate the biggest disruption to the show through the end of Summer, but of course there are multiple other one-off interruptions that could happen
  21. For the 2pm ET showing, after the briefing, the ABC anchor and correspondents talked until 3pm ET, so it was about 30 minutes or more
  22. DanaK

    The Green Planet

Definitely some amazing visuals on this show
  23. The GH Twitter account tweeted that due to the preemption, today’s episode will be shown in full tomorrow (Friday) in the US. I guess that makes sense since it sounds like the 3pm ET telecast was a rerun. The way these preemptions are going they’ll be celebrating Halloween in December
  24. Spinelli told Maxie he’s behind Society Setups
  25. Did anyone catch what was missed during the news preemption?
