I can't imagine Mariah celebrating Thanksgiving at all. She'd show up railing at her family how the holiday is immoral, not politically correct, etc. Not that I would necessarily disagree with her, but I'd certainly disagree with her presentation of the message.

Thanks for the tip Madtown. I had forgotten about the IPS default (not sure why I ever stopped using it). For me, with the regular setting I also have tons of large adds, plus my page jumps around when I click the link to go into a thread. 75% of the time I do not land on the first unread post. No issues with IPS default.

Why is Jill constantly praising her "man" for working hard? Does she understand that the majority of husbands/fathers/men work hard for their families (as do women, of course, but that's another topic) Or does she/did she have a lot of lazy, shiftless men in her extended family/life? He's not special. Well, he is "special," but not because he works hard.

I'm so sorry @Scarlett45. I know there's no such thing as "fair," but some things are just not fair! Sending positive energy your way.

I have a really easy, fun rapport with my PCP and rheumatologist, both women. We talk about each other's families and lives in general. For me, it's very welcoming and empowering to have such a friendly and familiar relationship with them, and probably makes me more open to talk about all things health with them, too, which contributes to my quality of care. I don't have the same rapport with my male doctors. I'm fine with the care I receive from them, but it's a lot more routine and formal, which is ok, too. I do choose female doctors whenever possible, and would never have a male OB-GYN. That'd be too familiar for me!!

I agree that the Nurthan "memorial video" is creepy AF. Also, if I were a Keller family member, I'd be pissed that this woman included our family photos in her madness. It seems very out-of-bounds, to me. Obviously they shared the photos with her, so maybe they're ok with it. It just all feels wrong. She is such a weirdo.

Ariela and Biniyam: Haile Suspicious!
CouchTater replied to Christina's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Apropos of nothing, Ari really is unfortunate-looking. Crying does not help. At all. -
S05.E11: Public Displays Of Contention

I can honestly suspend all disbelief while watching this show. I don't think about the fact that I'm watching is mostly fake. But that whole "hold me back!" thing Tammy had going on with her mom was ridiculous. Either it was scripted, or Tammy is a punk (or both). She was barely struggling to get away from her mother, who was barely holding back. 😆 Hilarious. -
Loren & Alexei: No Strippers Allowed
CouchTater replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
The scene that stands out from their season for me: Loren, Alexei and her parents were Skyping with Alexei's family in Israel (I think). Loren got upset because she had taken Alexei away from his family (his dad was crying, if I remember correctly). After the call, Loren left the room crying. Her parents guilted Alexei into going to comfort her, even though he was the one who had just watched his dad cry and he was the one thousands of miles away from his parents. That annoyed me, and I fast-forwarded through their scenes after that. But again, I enjoy them now. -
This reminds me. We were talking about Choco Tacos here a couple of weeks ago, I think. I tried them, and they were too sweet for me! I typically have a 3-element max for my desserts. The choco tacos have 4: the cone, ice cream, nuts and chocolate. The chocolate put it over the sweetness top, at least for me. The bites that didn't have chocolate were delicious, though!

I don't even know this kid, but these pics bring a big smile to my face. I even watched the whole video. All 14+ minutes of it. 🙁

I was thinking Janna and Jessa.

I had a garter snake in my basement a few years ago. I shut down mentally (my advanced coping technique) put a large bin over him, and then heavy books on top of that. Somehow he escaped! Then my nephews came over and found/removed the snake. Then my brother, their dad, kept it a a pet for a couple of years until my brother passed. He named it Spaghetti. LOL

That picture doesn't look like Jinger to me. The artist did a good job with Felicity, though.

Loren & Alexei: No Strippers Allowed
CouchTater replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
I really didn't like them as a couple in their first 90-Day season (I don't know if they did more than 1). Loren was so annoying and spoiled. But I'm loving them on Pillow Talk. They're super-cute together. -
Kenneth and Armando: Don't Fuck This Up For Us, TLC
CouchTater replied to Christina's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
I certainly don't peg Kenny as a villain in this situation. Like you said, it's complicated. But continuing to push someone's stated boundaries isn't cool. If they can't come to a happy medium, either or both of them will need to decide what they can live with. I just feel a little uneasy every time I see Kenny pushing/"encouraging." If I were Armando, I wouldn't appreciate it, but maybe I'm projecting. -
Ariela and Biniyam: Haile Suspicious!
CouchTater replied to Christina's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Many of these 90-day couples are so mismatched. Biniyam is clearly no prize, but what the heck does he find exciting or interesting about Ari? I'm not very familiar with this couple, so maybe she was dynamic and fun before being slowed down by pregnancy? She's not terribly attractive, either (neither is he). And he claims not to want to come to the U.S. So what am I missing here? -
I can't believe the bolded exchanges happened between a parent and a child! Even if it were between 2 adults that would not fly in my world. But a kid speaking to a parent like that? And the parent retorting, rather than bringing down the hammer? I'm a very occasional viewer and I've never seen any of the earlier episodes when the kids were young. Are the bolded exchanges typical of Amy's relationship with her kids? And did/does Matt have the same types of exchanges with them? What. The. Hell.

And the 2020 hits just keep coming. A week ago the plumbing in my condo was fine, as far as I knew. Ha! Suddenly all watery hell broke lose, and now I'm undergoing a full re-piping!!! $5,800 later.....ugh. I had some cool plans for this year (all home improvement-type stuff) but that's all on indefinite hold now. I'm thankful that I have the resources to have the very-necessary repairs done. But I'm bummed, because plumbing is not sexy or exciting.

S05.E10: Drawing The Line
CouchTater replied to OnceSane's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After
@TwirlyGirly, thanks for the info on Samoan culture. All the more reason that people should be very careful when they choose a mate. You're not just marrying/shacking up with a person, you're marrying/shacking up with all of that person's attachments/baggage. -

Kenneth and Armando: Don't Fuck This Up For Us, TLC
CouchTater replied to Christina's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Does anyone else think Kenny is being a little selfish in pushing Armando so hard to have PDAs and announce his engagement to his family? Kenny's all "I want his family to know, I want to be able to show our love, etc." What about what Armando wants? I know Kenny gets a lot of love here, but I wish he'd be more patient and understanding of Armando's needs and concerns, which are as valid as Kenny's.
