TB somewhat F, the "forced bunching" was in service of the Live U-Turn Vote. They did the same thing in the CBS Reality crossover TAR a few seasons back when they introduced the U-Turn vote to TARPrime. (International versions had had Voting for U-Turns and Yields* before that season.) This particular voting method doesn't work without bunching. And at least they did some classic TAR OOO bunching for it, instead of something more awkward and artificial. I (and I think the majority of us) preferred the other U-Turn Vote method they used more recently; the one with the big board that teams dropped their team photo in to cast their vote. But given there's going to be a "twist" of some kind on every Leg, it is possible and likely that we'll see that in a future Leg. And possibly a standard U-Turn in a third Leg as well. *Speaking of: anyone else (now) thinking that one of the upcoming Legs' twists will be the return of the Yield? Pfft! If I were a gambling man, I'd lay decent money on at least one of their sons going NC as soon as they can get out of that house and (presumed) church.

And we'll know it's finally her time to go when we get the usual shot at the TC entrance that features a scorpion crawling on a skull. Snakes on a skull typically happen when a backstabbing play (aka a "snake-like" play) is about to go down. Survivor loves animal symbolism.

Going by the events of "Name of the Doctor" (namely Clara literally inserting herself into the Doctor's timeline), Clara was there in Aberdeen when it happened. I headcanon that she's who picked Sarah Jane up and got her on the way back to Croydon.

Also hard to do with Vula being the only tribe to go to TC this season.

If they stick with the design of the Zyuranger/MMPR suits, as I suspect they will, then I think so. Nostalgia bait and all.

Faux Life: Things That Happen On TV But Not In Reality
SVNBob replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
Honestly, I think that the Muppet was named and based on the two meanings of "count", and this particular legend about vampires is just a happy coincidence. However, I concede that someone at Henson and/or CTW might have heard of this particular story before, and used it to help create and inform the character. -
S37.E01: Double the Stakes, Double the Eliminations

I suspected this too at first. I also thought sexism could be a factor. So it wasn't just that they were black, but black women. (We never saw if the last place team also had this issue...but they were dead in the water for so long it would have been a non-factor anyway.) It could also be a combination of all three; racism, sexism, and clue comprehension failure. And it sounded to me (as we never really saw them) like the cabbie that finally picked them up was female. So that could also have been a factor in why they were finally able to catch a cab. TBF, they did have to give out two First Place prizes this time. And they did have to spend more budget on this leg than usual, what with 14 teams and all. And as I recall, the first cash prize is usually $2500 each. So it seems like they split that usual prize between the two Firsts, but bumped it up a little to (appear to) be less chintzy. -
Huh. Sometimes Peachy does get it right....

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - General Discussion

May I suggest you take a small break from DS9 after finishing season 4, and watch the 3 seasons of TOS then. Then pick back up on DS9 with the start of season 5. Those that know will know. -

Blood Oath is also a great bit of universe continuity for people who have seen TOS. Since you haven't yet, I hesitate to say much more. -
New gen Bebop? Seems like it's worth a look.

This I can agree with. CBS may give them the budget to do a live reunion again this one time. But it'd most likely just be for this one time. Maybe again for S75 and S100....

I know he said those things were "up for a vote". But I have very little confidence that TPTB will actually abide by the majority decision on those two things (and others) if it doesn't match with what they plan to do anyway. Relatively unimportant things like tribe colors, fine. Cast members like for Second Chances, ok (and even that was a bit of a stretch). But not live gameplay elements like the F4 fire or something they'd have to spend more money on like a live reunion. I mainly think this because they aren't planning on revealing the results of the polls until during S50 filming. There's not going to be any "instant feedback" to see which way the polls are trending. All we the voting public will get will be the "results", and we'll have to wait until next year to find those out. Don't get me wrong; I'm still planning on participating in the voting, even in the categories I anticipate will not really be chosen by us. Because I could very well be wrong and TPTB may surprise me. But I'll be wearing my cynic buff while casting my votes.

There's no way they're going to let us decide those things. The other two, possibly. But not getting rid of F4 fire and the return of a live reunion.

There's a joke in poor taste that could be made here, but I thought better of it. -

Given that the cast information for the next season of Survivor was released a few days ago, and that premieres the week before this season of TAR does, I would assume that they're going to be releasing the TAR cast information soon, and probably in conjunction with this event.

Cast in Other Roles: Parallel and Alternative Universe Sightings

Heh. Whittaker plays a character living anonymously, probably under an assumed name. While Jones has been in prison, ie, stuck in the box. Subtle casting gags those, even if they weren't intentional. -
Why Grammar Matters: A Place To Discuss Matters Of Grammar
SVNBob replied to candall's topic in Everything Else
I can see how this happened. Most English speakers associate "mini-" with "small". So an adjective describing something as small would logically be spelled with those syllables at the start. Even if the word is properly spelled "minuscule". That's why "miniscule" became an alternate spelling listed in several dictionaries. So it's not totally wrong, but it isn't exactly correct either. -

Update from Denise: She still hasn't dealt with her ruptured implants, and she hasn't yet decided whether she'll do replacement or just removal. But she wasn't concerned about them during the show. Apparently, she'd had surgeries for multiple hernias in the past, and the harness for the bridge jump also went over that area. So she thought she might have re-injured herself there. (She kinda did, but just some swelling that went down soon after her departure and nothing requiring additional surgeries.) And that was her main health concern; the possibility of the weight of the packs and all the activity re-aggravating her hernias. That information makes the lead-up to her forced withdrawal make more sense. Her not being able to move that fast, the pack seemingly more cumbersome for her than others, and her inability to rock back and forth on her back; all results of her back being stressed by swelling around prior hernia surgery sites.
