  1. OMG, yes. The AI mode of bombast can move on any day now. Along with strapless bridal gowns.
  2. Faye always struck me as the woman most likely to pop up again in Don's professional life. I hope she was happily settled with someone who didn't expect her to cook or pick up after him by the time the stories of Don's Hershey meltdown reached her. Talk about an occasion for schadenfreude!
  3. I managed to watch The Richest Girl in the World last night. It's a slight (75 minutes) comedy pairing Hopkins with Joel McCrea, whose performances I tend to enjoy. It was fine, but I kept getting distracted by co-star Fay Wray's beauty. Wow, she was a stunner.
  4. TCM is showing several Miriam Hopkins movies today. I can't recall seeing her in anything, so I've set my DVR to record some of them.
  5. I did watch that. I assumed the skit was parodying some movie or TV character that I'm not familiar with. Are you saying that Kevin Roberts only exists in that one skit? OK then.
  6. Me, too! Me, too! Part of that is weight loss. Her face was fuller in the first few seasons. When she got super thin around S5 and paired that with the lank hair (which, IMO, does no one any favors), her face became more angular.
  7. This is lost on me. Who the heck is Kevin Roberts? Google has not helped.
  8. Oh, absolutely. And as royals go, he was pretty dishy. Yeah, I got the impression that the suddenness of it, while they were both so young, was a big factor in his difficulty adjusting. Victoria was already queen when Albert married her, and I've read that his adjustment to being consort was not without its difficulties.
  9. That's quite a Hollywood pedigree. I enjoyed the Lou Grant series so much. Bannon was part of an excellent cast and would turn up in guest appearances on many other 1970s/80s series. I can still remember when his mom died, too. RIP.
  10. In an episode full of great lines and visuals, this one managed to stand out. I'm still catching up on the new season. Will watch this episode again for sure!
  11. I deleted it after watching about 5 minutes.
  12. Thanks for the heads-up. It seems there is a one-hour SNL Halloween program after this. My DVR picked up the latter, but I'll set it for DSP as well. :-)
  13. Found it. Although it's called a blooper reel, my understanding is that they would deliberately try out different punchlines in certain scenes and use that one that got the biggest laugh, so these are more like outtakes than "mess ups." Another good example is when Ray guesses different places where Robert might have bought his mustard yellow suit in Robert's Date. I think the one they kept was "Little Shop of Horrors?" Can't find that one right now, but funny stuff!
  14. For my mom and me, it's a holiday nut-roll recipe we received from an older Hungarian friend we called "grandma." It tasted great, but ours always had a split top while hers remained intact. I'm convinced her oven was calibrated differently.
  15. I don't think Sister City is as bad as the rap it seems to get, but you do have to be into Fred Armisen's schtick. I thought S2 started out much better than anything in S1 with Pawnee Zoo, but really hit its stride around episode 2-7, Greg Pikitis. Ep. 2-10, Hunting Trip, is still one of my all-time faves. Boolah, boolah, boolah!
  16. I remember seeing a promo for this show repeatedly while flying on United in the summer of 2013. It looked awful, and I kept thinking "This is the best option Andre Braugher has???" I tuned in primarily for him, but it didn't take long for the rest of the cast and the impeccably insane writing to win me over. 4 years later, it is still my favorite comedy currently on TV.
  17. A pretty long penis! My husband and I finally found time to watch this and the 2nd episode last night. I'm not gonna lie: I had been putting it off for a while because I was not a huge fan of the ending storyline last season. But this was a fabulous return, and I'll watch it again. Yay, B99!
  18. That looks like a repackaging of the article that Melancholy posted on Monday. Rewatching that clip of Carrie intruding on Charlotte makes me angry all over again, in part because it was such manipulative writing. They try to make Carrie sound reasonable and appear sympathetic when she's acting heinously, IMO.
  19. Now THAT is a great take-down! Shut up, Carrie!
  20. If you're saying that both Carrie and Berger acted like kids in their relationship, then I agree.
  21. Very well put! In other words, this was Miranda's secret not Carrie's. The latter should have kept her big trap shut.
  22. Doesn't this thread begin and end with Julia Louis-Dreyfus? Her post-Seinfeld success has been astonishing. Recently, I've been watching reruns of The New Adventures of Old Christine and laughing my ass off. I'm a few seasons behind on Veep, so I have that to look forward to as well. How many freakin' Emmys does she have? And every one of her Emmy acceptance speeches for Veep has been a gem. Viva la Julia!
  23. OMG, the cluelessness just drips off the page.
