  1. I found the episode super boring. Emily's dead dad and maybe cancer are depressing. I don't care about Ezra's missing girlfriend or the book he will guilt Aria into writing for him. Why would he care about returning the advance? Where's his Fitzgerald money? Ali seemed to enjoy torturing all the girls at her dinner party. I wonder if we will be getting original Ali back.
  2. I was thinking maybe it was for Jenna. Is Jenna alive or dead? I can't remember. I will laugh so hard if it's for Mona.
  3. After the debacle that was the mid-season finale I wasn't sure I would continue to tune in, but when it popped up on my DVR I had to watch. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Cece is dead. Good riddance. I can sort of just pretend the whole "Charles" thing never happened. I have my fingers and toes crossed that Ezra is the killer. When he was EzrA and stalking the girls (or observing/researching for his book) Cece was supposedly on his payroll and doing some of his bidding (all while being A and preparing the dollhouse underground bunker apparently). I am going to say there is more to that relationship. Plus he needs to come up with material for a new book so why not fall back on a method that works for him - terrorizing young women and recording it.
  4. My DVR cut off the auf AGAIN so I'm shocked to discover Ashley did not get eliminated for her Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader superhero cape. That was hideous.
  5. Wow I was really impressed. I thought the pilot was really well done and could imagine these actors and this premise as a feature film. It was really fun and I thought Rob Lowe really hit it out of the park. I can't get my husband to watch anything but he loved this.
  6. Call me crazy but I enjoy watching Castle as a PI with Alexis as his assistant. I am so sick of the romance with Beckett. How many more times can they break them apart and put them back together? It's getting to be incredibly dull. She can go now. I want my silly, lighthearted Castle back.
  7. Fingers crossed for impeachment and both Mellie and Liv dumping Fitz's ass. Actually they might kill Fitz off and have him die a "heroic" death since the writers are so convinced this is some sort of epic love story. My eyes might roll out of my head but I'd take it if it meant Fitz off my screen. Fitz is running out of time in his 2nd term and Liv is not moving to Vermont. Scandal shows no sign of being canceled any time soon. Mellie has already conveniently become a senator so she can still be involved. VP what's her name can take his place and face a challenge from Mellie (maybe depending on fallout from Fitz) and Sally and whoever else they want to introduce in the next election.
  8. I know we are supposed to think Asher is just a naive dummy but sometimes I wonder if he's trolling them because he knows they keep him out of the loop. Is he genuine or does he know more than they think? He is certainly better at keeping a secret (do any of them have a clue he was working with the DA?) than the rest. He just might be a wolf in sheep's clothing (at least I hope he is). I find Annalise's quasi-parental relationships with Wes and Bonnie extremely disturbing. She is obviously a master manipulator but they are especially malleable. It seems she even feels a little guilty about that. The DA was ridiculously foolish and incompetent. No wonder Annalise wins so many cases. Eggs 911 is not necessarily a bad guy. Actually Keating & Co are sort of the bad guys in this situation. So he's a threat to them but the past season tells me that he needs to be the one concerned about his safety.
  9. Well it was 99% a rehash of what we've seen before except for the single word from Liv at the end. I do think that was consistent with her character. Olivia Pope is a drama-loving train wreck. She chose her career because she finds being involved in drama irresistible. She chose an affair with the president because it's forbidden and risky and dramatic. Every time he has suggested leaving his wife and ending the drama she has pushed him away or run away. But then when he decides to accept it she comes charging back into his life. Whenever she is exposed she talks about being humiliated and wanting to escape but she ultimately she can't resist the excitement. All of her pontificating about white hats and doing the right thing is a bunch of bullshit. I don't even believe she loves Fitz. He just feeds her need for chaos. She ends up ruining just about everyone around her because they compromise themselves after buying into her self-serving speeches about the greater good.
  10. Bummed that Mormon guy died. I found him the most interesting of the recruits. Overall it was entertaining and I'm a sucker for a whodunnit. The training scenes made me think of that old Rebecca De Mornay movie Feds which probably sounds like a huge insult but I loved that movie as a kid. Oh and I wish there weren't so many white male characters. I'm going to have a hard time telling them apart all season.
  11. I totally forgot that Frank killed Lila. I was grateful for the flashback. Bonnie killing Rebecca was believable. She's been shown to be damaged and desperate to please Annelise. Annelise is insanely manipulative. I feel that getting Nate acquitted is more about the feeling of power she gets from controlling the situation than it is about justice. I felt like there wasn't enough Asher in this episode. I'm so much less interested in the rest of Annelise's team.
  12. Yuck, yuck, yuck why did I watch this again? I swore I would abandon it after the ridiculousness of last season. Maybe I have hope for impeachment? I can't figure out who I'm supposed to root for on this show. Zombie James to come back from the dead and eat the lot of them? That's all I've got right now. Doesn't America already know Olivia is Fitz's mistress? Isn't that why she ran away to the island with Jake? This gives me hope that somewhere in her soul she knows he is a jackass and that he has mostly squandered her extensive intervention on his behalf (despite the apparently magical powers of his penis).
  13. LOL this is true. I'm willing to do a lot more hand-waving than usual for Spader and I tend to play with my phone when he's not on the screen. That show would have been a major fail with an average male lead. I'm sure that's the biggest reason why this version is less compelling.
  14. Okay, I get that they were trying to make another Blacklist but the tattoo "twist" just lost me. In The Blacklist Red chooses to go to the FBI and reveal what he wants to reveal for his own reasons. The female lead on this show is just a victim, or worse, a piece of evidence, except when she can magically speak Mandarin or kick someone's ass. She's not really the leader she's just sort of there for the man when he needs her (which is oddly the same dynamic on The Blacklist with the woman following the man around for the most part). Of course in the flashback we see that she willingly went along with this plan. I would love for the memory loss to be faked and for her to be still in on it but it seems unlikely. So uninterested in a romance with the FBI guy. I don't know. I might give it one more shot next week since there don't seem to be many new shows that appeal to me this year.
  15. It was campy and ridiculous and I liked it a lot. One of my favorite elements of Glee was hearing the inner monologue of the different characters and I'm glad Ryan Murphy carried that over to this show. I think it will help when we get to know the secondary characters more. It was a little too much Chanel for me in the same way that Glee could be too much Rachel Berry at times.
  16. I DVRed it last night and watched this morning. Will watch again this evening with the kids (they have been excited for the 2nd episode all week but it was on after bedtime last night). I liked it a lot. It's funny and does remind me quite a bit of Ellen's talk show, in a good way. I tend to prefer the funny segments and get bored during interviews so this is right up my alley. My ADHD brain likes the frantic pacing. My 9 yr old calls it her favorite show and she is dying to be on it.
  17. I cheered when the military took Nick away. I hope they shoot him. Too bad they didn't take Madison with them too. Also annoyed that we missed 9 days and now everything is stable and contained. Wasn't that supposed to be the selling point of this show? That we got to see the ZA from the beginning? Where are the zombies? Where is the fear? Where is the chaos? Where are the people, dead or alive? Why aren't we hearing anything about the rest of the world or even the rest of LA? I wasn't sure what to make of the lights from the house across the valley. Was it a morse code signal (How do people on TV shows magically know how to communicate in morse code? There's no power. It's not like they can google it.) and then whoever was in the house was killed at the end of the show. Or was it always an execution spot and is that what the lights always were? I wasn't paying close enough attention. Did they ever decode a message from the house?
  18. I'm really surprised Courtney was cut. She looks like a DCC to me and seems fun and outgoing. She looked great dancing on the field with Melissa. I hope she comes back next year. Kyndall is really pretty and well-spoken. Hopefully she keeps working on the choreography she's learned this year so it comes easier to her next year. I have no idea why Selina was cut. Of course I also didn't know she existed until this episode. I hate that they do that. I wish they would take 5 minutes of the first training camp episode to briefly introduce everyone, at least a photo and a name.
  19. My husband and I liked it. It was silly but fun. I obviously share NPH's sense of humor and I love his goofy disguises. Both of my kids (ages 9 and 6) watched and enjoyed it. It gets extra points for being something we can all watch together.
  20. Having a penalty for not completing a city finals course doesn't make sense considering the courses are not equal. Isn't that why they take the top 15 per course even if there are no finishers. It's hardly fair to knock Isaac for that. He earned his trip to Vegas by making the top 15. He has completed city finals courses and stage 1 in previous years. Geoff competed in a different city, right? We don't know how either of them would have done on a different course. I do wish there were some sort of runner-up prize for those who complete stage 4 but don't win. On the other hand I don't think either of the top two were doing it for the money but for the sense of accomplishment (although the money is great and I'm sure both could use it). I suspect they both would have competed and gone just as hard for the win without the million dollar incentive. My guess is that both of them will be back next year to tackle the new obstacles. They both seem to really enjoy it and that's what makes them fun to watch. If I remember correctly Brian Arnold quit his job to train full-time after nearly completing stage 3. I'm guessing he is going to have to go back to work since he has fallen on stage 2 the last two years. He can't justify to his girlfriend or himself that full-time training makes the difference. It sounds like Isaac Caldiero has always taken odd jobs to help support himself because professional rock-climbing doesn't pay the bills. A lot of the ninjas seem to have that sort of lifestyle and that's fine. I know skiers and surfers and golfers and actors who live similarly. It will be interesting to see how much the money affects Isaac's lifestyle.
  21. Amazing! I really enjoy watching both Caldiero and Britten and was happy for both of them. I'm glad we got to see so many attempt stage 3. Watching only 2 last year was such a disappointment. I was surprised how well some of the less experienced ninjas did on the course. What was Moravsky thinking with his blind backwards jump? Oh well, he won't make that mistake next year. I was so impressed with Ian Dory. He did great. You could see the horror on Brian Arnold's face when he fell in nearly the same spot he did. I think not being able to compete in Vegas last year hurt Steffenson this year. Wasn't the rope obstacle new last year? I remember it taking too much time and wearing out several ninjas last year. The roulette obstacle was a perfect obstacle to thin out the field because it needs to be done perfectly and there's no recovery if you miss the timing.
  22. Back in 1992 when I entered high school the popular attire for my aerobic dance PE class was a thong leotard over bike shorts. I still remember going to Dick's Sporting Goods and trying on a set and vowing never to put my ass in a thong again. I wore a much less fashionable tank top and leggings but at least I was wedgie-free.
  23. Why haven't we heard anything about Tamia this year? Wasn't she one of the captains last year? I'm pretty sure I've seen her performing during the episodes but they haven't mentioned her at all. Shouldn't she be in contention for the captain spot this year? I'm surprised that the team won the stand battle in last night's episode given Makya's fall in the stand. I thought the Southern Royalettes were pretty good.
  24. Poor Karen. I do think her hair is weighing her down and making her look even shorter/younger. But at only 18 I think she has a good shot at coming back stronger in a year or two.
  25. With regard to the anatomical terminology: I did my best to teach my children the correct words for vulva/vagina but my 9 yr old daughter refuses to use either and calls the whole area "the front butt". Sigh. I can forgive misnaming but Blake has no excuse for not knowing where women's parts are and how to support/flatter them. If you are squeamish about that then you need to reconsider your career choice.
