  1. Cece could have easily been Charles' girlfriend getting revenge for him or Jason and Ali's sister instead of brother. They only stuck the trans part in there to make it "shocking" which is what made it so bad. Actually the whole "Charles" thing was obviously only put in there to be a misdirect and make the viewers believe A was male in order to make the actual reveal shocking. It feels cheap and forced and tacked on unnecessarily.
  2. I just came back to add that it is really shitty writing when they have the main characters try to narrate for us the audience how we should feel about the twist. That was incredibly heavy handed and ridiculous. As we hear Cece's sob story we get the PLL saying oh of course it makes so much sense and really A is just a victim blah blah blah. Um no. Good writing would show us that Cece is sympathetic and the twist makes sense, not tell us.
  3. How the hell is Charles so young when Toby's mom died? Too cheap to get a different actor from the "cousin" birthday party? Shouldn't Charles be older than Bethany? He looks younger! Wasn't Toby older than that when his mom died? And wasn't Mrs D the one who told the girls about Cece going to Radley and pretending to be Ali? Why would she do that? This show makes no sense!
  4. I am watching this now and somehow the girls are in a spaceship watching footage of Ali and Cece is Charles/A. I'm feeling like I've seen this done better on Days of our Lives. I can't believe they actually went with the Cece/Charles thing but this is a writer that thinks pedophiles like Ezra are the most romantic boyfriends ever. If the writers were determined to do a hackneyed TV trope they should have just gone with the evil twin thing. So why have the whole Charles prom in the dollhouse? Shouldn't she have come in a gown instead of a tux?
  5. Feeling sad I can't watch this live with you all but I will be driving carpool for my daughter's dance team. It's going to be hard to stay unspoiled.
  6. Rooting for Ezra or Toby but I would be pleasantly surprised if they twisted it to somehow be Ali.
  7. Most of these "clues" could still be anyone. Not sure how 10 is possible.
  8. Oh boy, tonight's the night I find out if I've lowered my expectations sufficiently to be pleased with the reveal.
  9. I have always wondered if Ali's recount of the burying alive incident is really her changing herself from perpetrator to victim. She did write the letter encouraging Bethany to see her that night. Maybe she hit Bethany and Mrs D witnessed it? So she and Mrs D took the body to the hole and started to bury it with Mrs D saying, "What have you done?" Perhaps Ali ran off and Mrs D tried to catch her and in the meantime Melissa stumbled across the body in the hole and finished burying it thinking Spencer had killed Ali. We still have the problem of Mrs Grunwald pulling Ali out of the grave but it's less far-fetched that Ali paid Grunwald to tell the girls that story than Grunwald had a psychic vision and happened to make it to Rosewood in time to pull Ali from the grave before she suffocated.
  10. I have never been less excited about a reveal. I feel like the writers could have just put all the photos of the characters on the wall, put on a blindfold on Marlene, spun her around, and played pin the hoodie on A. Here are some random theories. Obviously the writers are willing to stretch the ages and other details so why shouldn't I? Charles -is dead and his Radley girlfriend Bethany/Cece/Sara is taking revenge by playing Charles -is dead and Jason has a split personality -is Wren sent away to London by Jessica -is Wilden, escaped from Radley to join the Rosewood police force (either due to incompetence or corruption of chief) -is Ezra, sent to live with Jessica's also wealthy sister/cousin, which explains lack of close tie between him and his "mom" -is Toby, rescued from Radley by Marion or placed with her by Jessica (possible relative?). Realizing he is actually a monster sends her there as a patient. -is Andrew and was adopted/age faked. That's why he looks so old. -is Caleb who ended up in foster care with a false identity much younger than his own. Liars will find him sympathetic -is Ian and was never dead -is Rhys because he appeared just in time and looks like a DiLaurentis -is Noel/Lucas/Johnny/Mike Montgomery/Jake/other random character because reasons Red Coat -is Ali/Vivian Darkbloom and has been playing victim all along -is Sara because Stockholm Syndrome or she's Bethany -is Cece because she's Bethany or being paid -is Aria because she's AriA -is Mona and probably the real boss -is Melissa because she's murdered once already so why not more -is Jenna because Toby is Charles and they were working together the whole time. Black veil -is the same person as red coat -is Melissa -is Cece -is Ali -is Sara because she is Bethany and Wilden is Charles, hence the black widow outfit at Wilden's funeral -is Lesli because why not
  11. Dying at Ezra going to Thailand for the summer. What place could be better for a grown man who likes young girls? Love the PLL moms and I'm regretting that we haven't seen more drunken investigation from them. I wonder if they will mostly disappear post time jump?
  12. The real problem is that the writers continually present these inappropriate relationships as romantic. An actor making a tasteless joke about his bit character on a teen soap is nothing by comparison.
  13. I actually feel like we're finally seeing a few more glimpses of the real Ali. Drugging her dad and sneaking out, stealing a key to tamper with police evidence - those are things that Ali would do. She wasn't emotional and afraid looking at the evidence in her mom's murder. She was calm and calculating. That is Ali.
  14. This is so ridiculously stupid. Multiple black hoodies, multiple yellow tops, and multiple red coats.
  15. I agree that they way over-shot with the city finals courses this year. I prefer to have more than one or two finishers. It's not so fun watching nearly everyone fall on the same obstacle. I would have liked to see more people attempt the crazy cliffhanger. I hope Jonathan Horton gets a wild card spot. He is amazing, especially considering his height disadvantage.
  16. I think she was supposed to bring her dad regular coffee so he could stay up and protect them from Charles. Instead she drugged decaf coffee so he would pass out and she could sneak away. I guess after the Spencer incident on the Night of 1000 Yellow Tops she was worried about the combined effect of a stimulant and a sedative. As for the Latin/Italian errors, I'm pretty sure most TV writers either aren't as brilliant as they think or are just too lazy to care. However, after 4 years of Latin in high school and 2 years of Italian in college I feel your pain. 1000 times this. It's hard to feel sorry for them when someone tries to help them without their approval when they have repeatedly done this over the course of the series. In fact if they hadn't been so adamant about "protecting" others from secrets, A would never have had so much power over them.
  17. Ugh that Ali/Lorenzo scene felt like it was straight out of a daytime soap opera. She looked good though. And Ezra spying on Clark and Aria was way creepier than Clark's nosy questions.
  18. What high school would allow a former teacher to attend prom as a student's date? Back in the dark ages when I went to prom we had to give the name of our date when we purchased prom bids and if it wasn't another student at the school it had to be approved by the administration. At least Toby was a student a couple years ago. Where is Caleb? What is Hanna wearing? Why is Jason serving drinks while wearing a mask? Who is Little Red Riding Hood?
  19. Well, Ali did drug him and leave him all alone in the hotel room after Charlie threatened to kill him so....
  20. These writers are killing me. Toby: "Hey lets go check out what's happening at Wallaby Road." (Side note: Isn't that the address from Finding Nemo?) Lorenzo: "Um but that's not our jurisdiction." Toby: "But it's so BORING here. I'm sure they'll appreciate our help." WTH was up with Toby's reaction to the pot cookies? For a second I thought maybe he had been poisoned (Spencer being the intended victim) and Spencer's barista/supplier would turn out to be Bethany Young/Charles' accomplice. It was painful again watching Emily try to keep Sara all to herself, not to mention incredibly creepy. Yes Em, let's tell the girl who has been kept captive for years that she needs to stay with you, a stranger, instead of spending time with her friend. It makes total sense that she shouldn't be allowed to leave Rosewood. Hey, at least it's bigger than the bunker. The ages seemed all messed up again in the birthday party video. Shouldn't Ali be way younger than Jason and Charles/Freddie? So who do we think the painter/Charles' "ally" is? We know Bethany Young was an artist. Aria also was an artist and helped with the Radley art class. We saw Wren drawing Red Coat.
  21. Maybe Caleb was testing Sara with the Kimye reference? To see if she was really in the dollhouse/bunker the whole time? Who am I kidding? I'm sure I am giving him too much credit. I was getting an Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt vibe from last night's episode for some weird reason, maybe because the actress is so terrible I forget I'm not watching a comedy.
  22. Re: Riley's death. I am more annoyed that she was killed so early than anything. She probably had the most potential for me to get attached to her but I didn't know her enough to feel really sad about it. I do think Audrey/Noah might be an interesting killer duo. Maybe they both decided to "sacrifice" someone to appear sympathetic? These were new relationships after all. Maybe a bit too convenient?
  23. DIsclaimer: I was reading about Pluto and only sort of watching this episode, a sad fall from the days where I would rewatch and look for clues. We find out the girls have been chipped and Mona just happens to have shown up where they were breaking and entering the second episode in a row. Did this not occur to them? Did they check to see if she had a tracking device in her neck too?
  24. I never wanted big A to be one of the dads, Wilden, or Pastor Ted. The cat-and-mouse A game worked for me because A was presumably someone close in age to them, like Jenna, Noel, Toby, Mona, Ali/twin, etc and most of the initial A drama was relatively minor. The threats weren't so threatening. The idea of some man terrorizing teenage girls just seems like a shitty episode of Criminal Minds dragged out over multiple seasons.
  25. YES! I was trying to figure out why her face bugged me so much. I like Noah and his monologues. He is probably the best reference to the movie but different enough from Randy to still be interesting. Other than that I could barely tell you who anyone else is. That is a huge failure at this point. You'd think a series would allow for enough time for characterization. Instead they keep hitting us over the head with Brandon James. We get it. There was a massacre of high school students 20 years ago. But that doesn't help me care about who gets killed now.
