You know, I hadn't really looked at the models lately, because they really seem to have taken any attention off of them. They don't even do the button bag anymore. But yes, now that you say it, I believe I agree. It just irks me because when this show is on its so much fun, I don't see why they need to keep chopping away at quality.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
RealityGal replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
They made fun of her? Ugh. But I don't know, both of those women were seen as either physical or mental threats. I can't live with bugs, so I would probably break down and clean. I can live with messy (clothes on the floor ,shoes not in the closet) but I can't handle bugs. Maybe if you're just a floater and you clean you get another week in the house just because everyone is too lazy. -
On a slightly unrelated note: one of the reasons I adore this thread is because everyone talks about all the delicious food they make. It's like daily food porn, and if any of you own a restaurant or even a food truck in Southern California, please let me know because I will be there to eat your food.

Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)
RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I think flirting can be harmless, and I also think that there is a gulf of difference between what you consider flirting and what I consider flirting. Phaedra attempted to flirt with Willie Watkins which the whole "luscious legs/prayer cloth" routine, and it was positively cringe worthy, but am I going to paint her with a scarlet A for it? Nope. And as others have said there is evidence to suggest that her relationship with Walter wasn't a put on, but just a bad relationship. And I feel sorry for someone who has been so pushed by society, and by women like Phaedra that they feel like they need a relationship to be worthy or worthwhile. I've felt bad for Kenya feeling like she has to create relationships because apparently if you don't have a man you're somehow less than whole, and its a way to put someone down. And exactly how is that superiority that Phaedra felt having a man working out for her? Now that she is married to a felon...maybe she shouldn't have been so quick to put someone down for not having a man, because just having a man is no great accomplishment. Because look at how easily Kenya could have had Phaedra's man if she wanted him. It says a lot that she would rather have a fake man than Phaedra's. Look at how easily other women have had Phaedra's man, so its no great accomplishment to just have a man. And BTW, how is having a man working out for Porsha? She was so proud to have a man, feeling so superior, and she couldn't even have people over to her house! And he is probably gay! So no, even if it were true I won't subscribe to the position that making up a relationship, or making up a man on this show somehow makes a person bad. It makes me sad that in this society, in this time where women can have a career that can be equal to a man, in this day and age where women can get an education, can make their own money, and accomplish things we never could before, that we're still picking on women, and putting them down because they "don't have a man." Somehow Porsha, who doesn't even realize that there are 365 days in a year somehow feels superior to anyone because she "has a man" Its sad that thats how we would judge a woman's worth to the point where a woman feels like she has to make up a relationship. And that Kenya lives in a place where this judgment is so prevalent that she feels the need to make up a relationship because any other accomplishments she has had seem to pale in comparison to "well, I got a man!" I think its that very attitude that got both Porsha and Phaedra in trouble, this societal pressure to just get a man kept them from getting a good man. So, I don't agree with any point of view that perpetuates that attitude. I think Nene hates Kenya because she is taking away her spotlight.. I think Kandi has been pulled into hating Kenya because she is supporting her friend Phaedra, and has probably believed the bevy of lies Phaedra was telling. I don't think Cynthia has a problem with Kenya. Porsha is a dummy, who IMO will co-sign anything Nene says/thinks. I also think Kenya is a pot stirrer, and for me, because I see it as done for the purposes of the show, I don't mind it. I think the show would bore me to tears without it. I would have to listen to Nene talk about how amazing she is and turning down scripts left and right. I would have to listen to Porsha, who probably thinks Crispus Attucks is a new burger. I would have to listen to Phaedra's weak attempts to convince me her life is perfect. That would be one boring ass show for me. -
Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)

I would laugh right in their face because I would take it as an absolute joke. I would think the person had an odd sense of humor, but I wouldn't think someone was serious about offering me a threesome, when they said it in front of a camera crew, on national TV. But I have a pretty thick skin, and I tend to date guys that have the same sensibilities that I do so it wouldn't worry me. I would be far more worried about someone who wasn't making those propositions in front of a camera crew for a reality show. -
S13.E02: Unconventional Movie Nite!
RealityGal replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Project Runway
I just would have loved to see them each independently take on the unconventional materials, and interpret the challenge without the constraints of having to agree with two other people. I wish it didn't have to be a cohesive collection. Even if it was two people working on one design I think it would have been better, but I would have really much more enjoyed it being an individual challenge, with two days to complete. I feel like Justin's dress was for the final runway, that wasn't the unconventional materials. and it had a beautiful story to it. I liked Seans because it was something more thrown at him in that it was unconventional materials. And not those tinkly tubes that Justin used, by crappy paper straws. Of course I would have liked it much better as a coat, but this is what happens when you give people one freaking day! maybe thats what I'm thinking of -

I vaguely remember that, but I can't remember if it was one where tim had been so clear on the rules. "there will be one winning team, someone from the winning team will win the challenge, there will be a losing team, one member from the losing team will go home" and I also can't remember if it was one of those where two people got eliminated because they had saved someone the week before.... -
Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

his wife...is going to kill him. Looks wise, his wife looks like a good match for Derrick, so if I was his wife, and I saw my husband on national TV petting some other young, attractive girls butt while they were laying in bed, it would be on like Donkey Kong when he got back. I mean, if I were married to Cody, I might not have as big a problem because Christine isn't particularly striking, so I would think that Cody was just playing her. I think that would annoy the ever loving snot out of me. And I suspect someone like Zach is a prime suspect for just leaving dirty dishes out. Jocasta better do something so people want to keep her in the game. And since she keeps getting sick, she has an extra incentive to keep that kitchen clean, and the ants at bay. I mean, I totally understand if someone cooks for the entire house, that that person should not have to do the dishes as well, but if you're cooking for yourself, and eating your own food than how does it seem reasonable to just expect someone else to clean up your mess. -

And here is my thing too, maybe Carrie would have had a leg to stand on if she had produced something just so over the top amazing and incredible that it just couldn't be ignored. But she pretty much produced a "meh" dress, so why should anyone break the long standing rules just for her? And I don't see Tim Gunn using his save in the second challenge, come on now. Immunity plays into someone's game plan so it really shouldn't be taken away. If immunity can be revoked its not really immunity, and I would assume that if Shandaya knew her immunity wasn't a sure thing she might have rightfully fought harder to do her own thing, or would have insisted that they all have a unified voice in the beginning. -

is it? I haven't seen a caption with his name on it. I prefer to call him handlebar, but I suppose I can live with calling him Patrick ;) -
I hope someone from PR monitors this forum, because I'm drawing the line at a Wal-Mart accessory wall. And I don't want to have to not watch PR anymore, so please.....LMAO at a Dollar Tree accessory wall....accessories in a clear, glassine envelope from such top designers as "Fashion Jewels" and "Classy Lady" or "Fashion Lady" Not nerdy, and sounds great, but I don't know how to use twitter :( But I do love your idea of taking snarking to the next level...in 140 characters or less (this is most of what I've heard about twitter in the news)

Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)
RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I can tell you right now, if any woman approached me and any man I've ever dated in my life about a threesome, I would be laughing, right in front of her face and his. I mean would you really take something like that seriously? Especially when someone has a camera in your face and you're on a reality TV show? Come on now, I mean maybe if they were all three at a quiet, intimate dinner and the subject came up, I would be like...."wow, that is strange" But with the way Kenya is, I wouldn't have taken that seriously at all. And for my part, it still confuses me that somehow Kenya is vilified for behavior that Apollo could have stopped. One spouse should complain to another spouse, and it should be up to that spouse to stop the behavior if it bothers their spouse. But people always put the behavior on Kenya, but maybe Phaedra should have married a guy that she could say "hey, that bothers me, stop" and he would stop. Maybe she shouldn't have been in a rush to marry the first pretty boy that came her way. I'm of the point of view that I hope ultimately to be with a man who I can trust, if you can trust your man you shouldn't have to worry about anyone approaching him. and you surely shouldn't have to have any serious concerns about a woman who is offering you and your man a three way in front of a camera crew! If thats the man you married, you get what you get. It amuses me when the talk is always about how Kenya should have stopped things, but almost never on how Apollo should have stopped things. Isn't he the one that took the vows to "honor and respect" Phaedra? I remember Kenya being nothing but absolutely upset at the entire pillow fight brawl. The best scene was her sincerely talking to her "agent" about all the scripts she isn't even reading. Ones with a-list actors. It was just so delusional that it was awesome. -

I don't think it was just the "n" word, but the rest of her statements and the context and then her denial of saying it, and then trying to dress up black waiters in the most humiliating way. All things considered, I think Lenny has crazy eyes, and I also think he had sexual relations with that corn he was stirring, and I don't approve of the "c" word, but I don't find it as offensive as Paula Deen. I can't wait to see this episode just to see Sarah get eliminated!

I'm 95% sure Caleb did that in front of the camera in some delusional attempt to make Amber jealous. And I'm sure he thinks it worked and that Amber is sitting at home just in a knot thinking about Caleb possibly liking another girl. -
S02.E07: If You Could See Her Through My Eyes
RealityGal replied to maraleia's topic in Defiance [V]
But the Tarr's have to know that neither of them are going to live forever. And if I read them both correctly, they want to continue their legacy and growth of their name even when they are gone. They both think Alak is weak, and I don't think Stahma has any great respect or love for Christie, and certainly Datak doesn't. I think with time they may both learn to see her as a loose cannon, because that is how she is acting. So the question for them may be who is the right woman to continue on their traditions and grow the family name/fortune even when they are gone. Who may be a woman who can be quiet and demure in public, but can be a force to be reckoned with in private. A loose cannon who could, at any moment, take her baby and run? A woman ruled by emotion and impulse? Or someone who walks into their family with her eyes wide open, knowing full well that they are a criminal family, and being perfectly fine with that. Someone who will work under cover to get what she wants. Or someone who responds to not getting her way by stomping, running off, and causing a scene? She wants to be a princess, there aren't too many opportunities for princess in Defiance. She wants a prince, there aren't too many of those in Defiance. She wants a family she never had. There aren't too many opportunities for a girl to find a prince and a family and to be a princess in the town of Defiance. And she will happily take a flawed prince because its much more than she has ever had. I think someone who wants money and power is much easier to control than someone who wants love, affection, and demands to fit in without doing any work. You can give a person money and power, or those are things they can work to get. You may not be able to give a person love if you don't have it in you to give it, you may not be able to give affection that you don't have to give. You can't make people like you and make you a part of their culture just because you really want them to. I think its much easier to change your pocketbook than to change how you feel. Christie doesn't just want to fit in, she wants everything her way and if she doesn't get things her way, she isn't going to work to change them, she is going to stomp off, cause a scene and act on impulse. That impulse can't be controlled, and that impulse to simply act when she doesn't get her way is what may one day cause her to try to run off with the grandchild. And I would say that if Deidre was content to remain a hooker, and simply wanted to be a hooker marrying his son, I think he would take issue. But I think she is actively in the process of attempting to transform herself into someone new. She seems to be trying to shed her hooker skin (which is less stigmatized) to reveal her new, more respectable DJ skin. Now she is in the process of trying to develop respectable wife/princess skin. Women before her have done it, even in western society....people have worked their way up from a low status position to a higher status position - sometimes through sex and conniving. -

RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Exactly, I think your statement about how you enjoy watching her because you know she is playing a role is exactly how I feel. I think its 85% an act, and 15% when she is being honest, or making a statement about women that I think is true (normally because Porsha has said something ridiculous). I also think Phaedra has a hard time admitting when things aren't going her way, but I think if you want the perks of being on a reality show, you have to take the pitfalls too, and showing people your pain seems to be the pitfall. -

As an instructor I would have expected him to put a stop to both Mondo and Anya being so vicious to Natalia, and I would have expected him to stop Asha being vicious towards Natalia. And those are just the things that my mind can't block, the rest of what I consider his poor behavior I have tried really hard to forget about. -
Christine Brecht: Thoroughly Weill?

ha ha, this reminds me of an episode of the golden girls, Blanche is dating this guy, and apparently he had been out of the dating scene for a while. and he is like "I just don't understand women in this day and age, they all wanted to be treated equal these days" Blanche looks him dead in the eye and says "oh no, I don't want to be treated the same as you, I want to be treated much much better!"
