S13.E02: Unconventional Movie Nite!
RealityGal replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Project Runway
^^This! A million times this. No matter how nicely you try to tell them, they will kindly insist upon their point of view, and if you try to be anything other than nice and accepting, they have a breakdown. Then when things don't go their way, they are busy crying. I hate all the subterfuge and fakeness of people like her....the minute she got into that blue room or whatever, she turned on the waterworks because she didn't want Fade and the other guy to give her the stinkeye.....WHICH SHE SO RICHLY DESERVED. 2/3 members of the team wanted to go with villian, and you're insisting on sticking paper cutouts to a dress? Fade's and the other guys use of the straws was a transformative use, they went from looking like straws to looking like fabric (although, on an unrelated note, I think that guy should have made his dress a coat....Creulla DiVille Style, and maybe just had a simple duct tape over muslin dress underneath....it was too bulky as a dress, imo). But she basically just took some paper and cut it up and taped it to her dress. Paper already looks too much like fabric, so if you're gonna use paper you have to rock it. Didn't they have a duct tape challenge in PR....and didn't Michelle and Amanda win that challenge? How is doing what you did a few years ago fashion forward? Those eyebrows! Why? But I agree, Mary Kay should have lent her a blue eyeshadow pencil so she could make her eyebrows all \/ -

Yeah, I truly think this was supposed to be "The Redemption of Tim Gunn" episode. To show that no, he doesn't not approve of bullying. Because, yes, they were being mean, but they were nowhere near the ballpark of where Asha was towards Natalia. And Natalia wasn't safe during her team challenge with Asha. Shandaya was safe, and yes, it must have sucked for her to have to deal with the whining. But at the same time, its always been the same complaint from every team since the start of the show that had the immune designer. Its always "he/she/it is not going to work as hard because they have immunity" and sometimes those immune designers end up winning the challenge they were immune for. But its always the same argument...and if the immune designer is on the losing team, I think the judges also look at them differently as well...like they just skated by. Its the same on Top Chef. But, because Shandaya had immunity she was in a catch 22, the other two designers are going to be insistent because they feel like they have much more on the line so you should just get in line with their vision, but if you do that, and the vision sucks you get flack from the judges and the other contestants because they will say you skated by. I think Shandaya's best bet would have been to use the film strips, and the gold, but to use them sparingly, OR to create a different silhouette. Her and Carrie's essentially looked like the same dress to me, just with midriff showing. And she should have focused on making her construction perfection. But without an original idea, the sloppy construction really stands out. But I felt like her going to Tim Gunn was just over the top, and a set up btw: I'm in love with Fade, his dress was a little odd, but interesting, but I just like him, he is just funny to me. And when people wrote that the blue hair girl was sent packing, I totally thought it was the other blue haired chick, because I was not down with that collection at all. Now, I love, love, love Nina, I do....but these are up and coming designers, and you should be happy to explain your reasoning to them, unless you don't have any solid reasoning. Something was off about Zach this episode, when he smiled it looked like a grimace, and it looked like he was ready to try to take a bite out of someone. I always miss MK -
Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

There was this yogurt I used to buy at the Farmers Market. It was super all natural, goat milk, greek yogurt. It tasted like heaven. Fig and white pumpkin were absolutely to die for there were so good. I can't even look at normal yogurt after the Farmers Market yogurt. Cows were dead to me, because their milk was so useless in yogurt making. It was so expensive, but it was like yogurt crack it was so good. I could sit all alone in a dark room and eat that yogurt all day. -
Phaedra Parks: Undertaker, Esq.
RealityGal replied to radishcake's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I don't know...IMO, if you want the perks and advantages that come with being a reality show star, you should take the crap that comes with it too. A reality show should be a full view into a persons life. If you only want to be on the show when your life is awesome and amazing, I'm not sure I'm all that interested. If I want to watch a show with people who have the most amazing lives and are doing awesome, I would prefer to watch Biography. I think the most interesting and compelling moments come when a persons life hits the rocks. Phaedra just seems too concerned about projecting a certain image, and I generally don't find that image very interesting because I think its fake. I have liked Phaedra when I thought she was being real, which has happened a little, but not nearly enough for me to really hope she comes back, or to not think that there isn't someone a little more interesting out there. -
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta - General Discussion

I KNOW right? I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but in my main forums screen when it breaks the shows down by letters, this doesn't appear under L. I actually have to click on "show all 51" on the side to get to it, so I'm not sure if people just don't know the forum is here. I don't know how to get it on the main screen.... -
Sarah's dress was very unfortunate. I'm not sure I would call her plump, maybe more curvy, because she has worn jeans and a tee shirt, and she isn't thin like Nicole, she just has curves, maybe a tiny bit thick. I kinda, sort of have the same body shape, and never, in a billion years would I wear a dress like that. And I think those dresses are very pretty....on girls with Nicole's body. The dresses I wear are structured generally, because they accentuate my chest, and nip in at the waist so the shape can be seen. Those willowy dresses on chesty/curvy girls just make us look plump. Now matter how cute those dresses are on the rack, no matter what brand, those dresses always make me look like I'm made of marshmallows. My vote goes to Luca....because well....you know, the flowing white shirt and what not. And he really loves his grandma, and well, you know, the flowing white shirt and what not....

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

Well...that sounds like a well reasoned response. I see an ambassadorship in his future if this whole country music singing career doesn't work out.....or maybe he can be a famous country music singer AND an ambassador You should TOTALLY do that! Okay, now the Donny beard makes sense. I really am on board with Jocasta. How far did things go with Brittney. I wonder if he only went after her because he knew she wouldn't pursue him? I think I like pop music, but its older pop music.....Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam, Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls, Milli Vanilli, Tears for Fears, Wham, George Michael, Samantha Fox, Taylor Dane.....OMG, I think I just came up with the playlist for if I ever have a BBQ! I actually heard one of my favorite songs the other day...on the oldies station....it was a moment.... You know, I think the genius of Derrick is this.....I think he mostly sits around and waits for someone to have an idea that is either what he wants to do, or can be easily turned into what he wants to do, and then he just tells them that their idea is great, and he will advocate the idea to everyone else. So the person who originally came up with the idea is the one that is "on the radar" and Derrick just appears to be a background player going with the flow. While it stinks that another female will be put up, it will take a number away from the Detonators. Now that its stuck in my head, I do indeed hate you...just kidding....but it is stuck in my head. -

Ahh, Battle of the Block makes sense. Maybe someone else had mentioned Jocasta said something, and then it just really hit me again hearing Amber talk about him and not so much that she was insistent on them just being friends, but how she said it... -

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
RealityGal replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
LOL @ the "poor exhausted gerbil"....I love that visual. I'm wondering if Caleb is pointing out how attractive another girl is in some effort to convince the house he is over Amber and he is still the marquis of the house or whatever. By the way, who the hell brought a crown into the house? Zach has been wearing the same damn tee shirt every time I see him to the point where I'm starting to smell it through the TV, but someone had the presence of mind to bring a crown? Or was it a prop from some game. Yeah, I suggest Mariah file the TRO now, because I'm sure Caleb is thinking that if he just meets Mariah, and "convinces" her to date him (with ether, or a gun, I'm sure) then it will make Amber super jealous. Is Cody straight? Something about the way Amber talked about him, like she was very clear that he was her best friend, just gave me the impression, he might not be so straight, especially combined with all the man touching going on in the house (not that theres anything wrong with that) What strategy? He is king of the house, or does he think someone else is coming for his title, lands and stolen bunny slippers? -
Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
RealityGal replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
You're probably right. That makes a lot of sense actually, I'm sure Production already had him cast in his "role" and the beard was a perfect fit. I could also see them having a contract that would allow them to cut you, because I think they all have "roles" I remember Julie Chen's interview on David Letterman where she said something to the effect of production having cast Aaryan as "America's Sweetheart" and were shocked when all her racism came shining through (background checks CBS! its a thing! or just talk to a few of her fellow Klansmen....I mean friends....) OMG! He is too much, I'm sure he is convinced America loves him and people around the country are calling themselves "Beast Mode Cowboy" Someone needs to trademark "Beast Mode Bunny Boiler" and sell those tee shirts....I would buy one just so Caleb would know they were selling -
Yes, I have been very "meh" about Amber, but these past few episodes have put me in her camp. Yeah, maybe she played the game terribly, but she tried. She just put her trust in the wrong people (mostly Christine) in trying to form an all girls alliance. And it sounds like the other women didn't like her because she is prettier than they are, so I don't think even in a perfect situation she would have been able to pull off an all girls alliance. Although, I think if it weren't for Caleb, she could have been in the Detonators, but they put her and Caleb together and just decided the two of them were too much drama. But she was all class in how she left, and in her exit interview, and in the way she dealt with Zach (and BTW, can they please stop rewarding Zach's behavior by constantly playing his goodbye messages, they are all mean, and they aren't even unique, its always the same thing "I'm glad you're gone and I hate you"). I was very proud of her...but girl, just let Caleb have those bunny slippers, he is going to read you wanting them back as you wanting him to deliver them to your house while you're sleeping or something. And besides, he is probably in the bathroom having sex with those slippers so you do not want them back. Just go out and buy another pair. Derrick knows full well he didn't want to do that mission either, for all the intelligent reasons Donny stated, I'm not sure how it advanced his game to blame Donny during the eviction...but I guess it will be a good excuse for him and Frankie to get rid of Donny when the time comes, and they want an excuse that they think won't make America absolutely hate them, "well America, we are voting out Donny, but he wasn't even willing to do the Team America task even though we were totally willing."

I watched it when it first aired too! LMAO @ "ain't got nothing on Blanche Devereaux" She was a cougar before that was even a thing. People used to say "Golden Girls is Sex and the City for old people" and I would always say "oh no, Sex and the City is Golden Girls for younger people!" Congratulations on your daughters accomplishments! Cum laude is no joke! Now is the time to impress upon her that she will need to care for you when she makes her first million. :) I'm one of the most uncool people I know, my brother in law, who is about 4 years older than me had to actually tell me what songs Bruno Mars sings, because I had no idea. Well, he actually sang a medley, it was painful, but I learned. -

A very sweet letter, a little Norman Rockwell, but very sweet and charming. although I notice she didn't say she misses the beard, which supports someones theory that the beard was a recent development to get him cast and play into the "country bumpkin" role. -

For a long time I had no idea what Justin Beiber sang. I now know two songs. I'm still confused as to how he is a heartthrob, he looks like he is 10. There is a group called One Direction that even had a movie, I'm still not sure what they sing, and I'm totally confused as to why they are popular. Come to think of it, I also don't know a Jonas Brothers song. Wow...I am old! I think the autotune annoys me, and just the entire attitude. It seems like back in the day, people were so happy to be stars and have status, and they felt a responsibility to their fans to at least try to act right in public. But I see the Justin Beibers and the Miley Cyrus's of the world and I get a little annoyed, if you know your fan base was built on tweens, you can't just one day decide you want to do coke all day, yell at cops, and show up everywhere in a g-string while you twerk. I know people have the right to express themselves, but geepers! I'm too old for Ariane Grande's music (and I know thats judgmental having never knowingly heard any of her music, but I've heard what the disney machine outputs) however, I would submit that even when I was 15 I was probably too old for her music. I'm one of those people that was watching the Golden Girls when I was 20, and had all the DVD's by the time I turned 25. I'm just an old curmudgeon in a younger body. I'm not "too cold" just too old. If I want to listen to Mariah Carey's music, then I'll listen to Mariah Carey :) Or even some Whitney Houston, who, IMO did it better than Mariah. Or even some Aretha, in fact, this entire statement has made me want to listen to freeway of love. ETA: "too cool" I'm not "too cool" I'm also cold, but I'm still going to listen to "Freeway Of Love" -

i feel like the oldest person in America, I don't even know a song she sings. And this show is not going to make me seek her out. I'm tired of the Disney machine, at least Motown's creation had talent. All this music feels like autotune and entitled 15 year olds. -

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
RealityGal replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
I don't remember a rag, and that commercial doesn't sell me on a dishwasher at all. I'm not focused on a dishwasher, I'm focused on this guy cramped in a space with dishes around him. It feels super squiggy for him to lick that whisk because then that IMO looks like the way the dishes are going to get cleaned, by some dude licking them, which is super gross. I can sort of see what they were going for, but give me the classic shots of the dishwasher, with the dirty dishes going in, some animation about cleaning action, and sparkling clean, slightly wet glasses coming out. Now that makes me feel good about the clean dishes, some dude licking a whisk makes me feel oogy.
