  1. Kenya has always been a pot stirrer, and once I looked at her actions through that filter, they didn't bother me. Monique should have been thanking Kenya, because she was boring and irrelevant until Kenya brought up Chuck dating both Phaedra and Kandi. She continued to be boring and irrelevant which is why she wasn't cast, even though she wanted to be on the show. But frankly, I would be bored to tears if I had to just listen to Nene's delusions of grandeur and Phaedra's faux belle routine. I think Kenya played Mexico out like a boss, but you may be talking about other men in another bar in Mexico or YMMV. I totally understood Kenya's rationale, and I wouldn't expect her to let Phaedra's lies about her go unchecked. I think Kenya went into that bar in Mexico knowing what she wanted to accomplished, got Apollo to admit on national TV that he is a big fat liar, and BOOM! goes the dynamite, right in Phaedra's face. And I hope Phaedra learned an important lesson about going all over town telling lies about someone. Especially when that someone has the ability to up the ante, embarrass and expose you on national TV. I actually felt bad for Kenya that she felt she needed a relationship to be validated in any way, and I despise Phaedra's constant attempts to make it seem like she was somehow better because she had a man. Well Phaedra, how exactly is that working out for you? I'm guessing you're not feeling so superior now. When women base their worth on whether or not they have a relationship I think its so unfortunate, because it encourages women to simply get into any relationship, even if its a bad one. I actually vaguely remember Phaedra getting flack for showing up in that ridiculous net outfit in Anguilla, which I think was some sad sack attempt to get men to pay attention to her. Although, I don't think a group that includes a former Miss USA, and a model was going to experience anything even approaching jealousy at that.
  2. So Christie gets out of tickets because she is so hot, and the cops are pulling Caleb over just to ask him about his bad ass truck. What in the world is going on with the cops these days?? I'm sure he was "this close" to being on Seinfeld, but then he just decided he didn't want to be on that show, or they decided that he was so funny he would outshine the rest of the cast to they decided not to use him.
  3. Generally, I would agree, but its not like datak had moved his way up into a legitimate business, he worked his way up into being a crimelord. I think there is a difference. This isn't exactly the Kennedy's, this is more Pablo Escobar IMO. There isn't even much in the way of subterfuge in hiding what his business is, its not like he is laundering money into legitimate ventures, as far as I could tell, so he is perfectly happy being a barely concealed crime lord. For one, I don't think it being a "cos play" club makes a huge difference. And furthermore, I certainly think it can, and probably will get back to Stahma because she seems to have her finger on everything. People who are wanting to indulge one fantasy, may also have some degree of self hate which may require using drugs, while Stahma may no longer have all the adreno in town, she may have access to whatever people want in a club like that. And I would think Stahma would figure that if she can find out, other people may have seen. Unless Casti's are somehow kept out of the Janus club, I would think a few of them might want to go there just to see whats going on. If there was a club full of people trying to replicate me, I would be interested in seeing what that was all about. If I were a Casti dude, I might see it as an easy way to score. But, thats secondary to the fact that its just another instance in whats becoming a pattern for Christie of doing whatever the hell she wants because she is unhappy and emotional, and will do things impulsively instead of thinking them through. And constantly upping the ante by doing things in more public settings. I mean, how was she supposed to gain a greater understanding of Casti culture if she was simply dressing Casti? To me, its like saying I understand my dog because I dressed up like a furry. And understanding my dog would be much simpler than understanding the cultural complexities of an alien race. Even if she was dressing Casti in a club full of Casti's it would be insulting, but to think you're going to better understand an entire culture because you just dressed up like them is even worse. But I digress, Christie doing what she wants, and disrespecting Alak in public is just the last in the line of things she has done on impulse, and its getting more and more bold, and public. First, they had their disagreement in the house where Alak told her that she doesn't understand because she is human, now she is doing things in front of others, how much longer until they are fighting in the streets, and tongues are clucking because that is not okay in Casti society. Stahma gets her way by smiling in public and pulling strings in private, Christie doesn't get that, she just does things when she feels like doing them. This makes her dangerous. I actually think bearing the Tarr baby puts a huge target on Christie's back, especially as she acts more impulsively. In unenlightened times, a woman of a certain social set realized that she was probably going to have to live by certain rules, one of which was that she wasn't going to run off with her child. Christie, doing things impulsively, doesn't seem to understand that there may be certain rules that she will be expected to live by. Especially in raising the child the way Datak and Stahma will likely want to raise him. I imagine there would be things about Casti child rearing that she wouldn't understand, and wouldn't like, especially since she has already shown she doesn't like all of the Casti rules and is willing to push back. The more she fights, the more I think it will look to Stahma and Datak that their best bet is to just get rid of her. As for Deidre, I think both Stahma and Datak can see that Alak may not be super interested in a Casti wife. Additionally, they should both realize that they live in a town thats a bit of a brave new world. The former mayor runs the whorehouse, her sister opened the place, so it doesn't seem like being a hooker is as much of a social stigma as it is now. If the Casti's represent an old school society, it reminds me of the story of "Mrs. Woodward", who in the 1950's was a "burlesque dancer" who married into one of the richest and oldest new york society families. She actually had a "relationship" with the father, who then encouraged the son to ask her out. They eventually married, so its not like even in an old school, patriarchal society that it doesn't happen. A woman like Deidre who is willing to do anything and reinvent herself to fit in might be a better fit. Christie seems to think she can become Stahma by cooking some meals and dressing up. I think someone like Deidre would have the respect for Stahma to want to really study her ways and would put in the work, and deal with the initial dismay. I don't think "official wife" would get even a rice grain worth of consideration when Christie starts making noise about not liking the child being raised Casti. I don't think Stahma would have any problem getting rid of Christie if she in any way threatened Stahma's plan for her grandchild.
  4. LMAO! I just broke down and read the list. I think I would laugh at most everything except West Point, but I would call him on every....single....thing but in a way that would encourage him to continue. Has he really ever been in the army, because that list would cause me to question everything he ever said.
  5. I don't blame Heidi especially if it was the truth. As Zach said, they are there to judge what is in front of them, they aren't there to judge a designers motivations and fears. If she is a limited and can't step out of her comfort zone, Project Runway is not the right show for her, because the judges always stress doing something new an innovative, and if every design is just going to represent you rigidly sticking to doing something you already did, how are you even growing as a designer, and how are you going to bring anything interesting and new to the table? She knew full well, if she has watched any season of PR that she would have to do a team challenge and so she should have either learned to work on a team prior to coming, or not be shocked when she is called out for being crappy to work with. I think Angela was being 100% manipulative. Even during Tim's critique when he was obviously excited about the villian thing and all she can say is that she doesn't want to do villain. Well thats the way its going, and if you are so committed to the whole "angel" thing, than say you want to do a "dark angel" but why should the voice of one third of the team, who is the least talented, get to determine what the other two do? Two thirds of the team want to do something else, you better get on board! Her stubbornly sticking to whatever she wanted to do and then trying to cry when it didn't work out her way smells of manipulation. I almost wish that her team was on the bottom, just because I suspect she would have been throwing the other two under the bus in the most quiet, manipulative way. I think Heidi probably has the biggest say in the who the winner is and who gets auf'ed. But isn't she an executive producer?
  6. The mom looks ridiculous, but I'm so happy to see Vanilla Ice doing well, and not taking himself too seriously. I think he went through some rough times, so I'm happy to see him get a little of that sweet Kraft Mac n' Cheese money. I also like that they didn't feature some snotty, entitled child intended to be "precocious" I tried to watch the commercial, but only made it 5 seconds in because I knew that song wasn't going to work for me.
  7. In what world do people think kids like this are cute? This is just another commercial that enables parents to let their kids run them. And I guess the shining awesomeness is that BJ's has a way to pay by phone because we don't want our special snowflake to "have a meltdown" while we wait for the check. First off, giving your child a pizookie is almost abusive enabling, these are the same parents that are confused when their child turns out be hyperactive and/or fat when they allow her to have a dessert that is at least 1000 calories of mostly sugar and fat. Second, going out to eat, in my house was a treat, so I surely wasn't about to act up like that, and getting a dessert, oh no, if I had made any indication of having a meltdown, that pizookie would have been eaten by my parents right in front of my snotty little face. And if I actually had the audacity to have a meltdown, or even begin a meltdown, there would have been repercussions, not my parents enabling my bad behavior by making sure we get out as quickly as possible. I just consider these ads for birth control
  8. Oh no, that shit is not cute. Amber needs to change her address and phone number.
  9. And not just a 3 piece collection...an unconventional materials 3 piece collection in one day...ridiculous Yes, why didn't anyone make a twizzlers dress? that could have been cool especially if it had used other materials too. I don't mind Amanda's look, but the other two as top looks confuses me, I keep trying to convince myself to like them since everyone else liked them, but its tough. I don't think marquee letters over an a-line dress is all that cool, and the VHS ribbon over green duct tape isn't setting my world on fire either. Duct tape over muslin seems only slightly better than simply picking unconventional materials that mimic cloth. And while I didn't hate Amandas dress if what she used was a plastic bag to recreate the dress than she pretty much used a material that most mimics fabric, and her "unconventional materials" portion of the dress was maybe 30% of the dress. I think the win should have gone to someone that used truly unconventional materials for a greater portion of their garment. Emily's dress was awful IMO, I'm shocked she didn't bring her team to the bottom. I'm okay with the structured, exaggerated hips look, but the way she did it was just all sorts of strange and ugly. IMO, its the reason why there shouldn't be one day unconventional materials challenges, with a little work she could have made a few changes and it would have been fine. I thought Shendaya's thought process for making the collection cohesive was actually good, but as another person posted, they should have put their sketches together and then decided on what elements they were going to use to make the collection cohesive. But to just start creating the look and then trying to decide how you're going to make it cohesive seems strange. They have the same makeup artist it seems for every company, the guy with the handlebar mousetache. I wonder how he feels working for Mary Kay? And additionally Shandaya, maybe you need to understand if, on a team challenge where you have immunity, the rest of your team is going to want to take the drivers seat because they can't take the same risks you can take because you can't get sent home. I did not see the reason for the tears, although I think someone should have just been straight with her and said "listen, you have immunity, you can't get sent home, we can get sent home, so we're just going to need for you to design the prettiest thing you can within the parameters." Yeah, and big thanks Amanda for that valuable inside knowledge that anyone who has ever watched Project Runway knows. Whats next, is she going to let us in on the valuable secret that someone is going to get a fat, but sweet and sassy woman for the "real woman" challenge? And someone else is going to get a size 0, who just really needs a good deep conditioner.
  10. I got the impression Datak wasn't from the highest social strata, he came to Earth and worked his way up. So I don't know if he might have a nugget of empathy in his heart for someone like Deidre. Someone, who like he and Stahma will connive and plan and put in work to get what they want. I'm not entirely sure if Deidre is still hooking, but she seems to be transitioning to radio host full time. Alak tried to pay her, so maybe? I don't see much evidence of Stahma having any genuine affection for Christie. And Christie is showing that she can not be much influenced, she is yelling at people, causing public scenes, making public accusations about Alak and his family, going to Casti clubs and dressing up in public, running off. She has shown herself, IMO to be run totally by impulse and emotion, and that leads to her not doing things that are rational. I think deidre is a different animal entirely. She is trying to accomplish her goals in a reasoned and controlled way. Deidre though could be cast in the "ride or die" chick mode and become to Alak what Kenya was to Datak. And if she became pregnant it would be an interesting dynamic. But I do think Deidre is easier to control, because her motivations aren't as emotion based, she just wants to be a princess. And I don't think that its Alak she loves per se, I think if she saw an opportunity for someone else to treat her like a princess she would go for that too....
  11. It doesn't seem like much escapes Stahma's notice, so she may be biting her tongue and biding her time until Christie gives birth. Yeah, Christie is drinking, which is no bueno, at least for a human child, so thats a little surprising, and that would be something I imagine Stahma may want to try to put a stop to. I guess she may be more popular amongst the miners and the people she worked with in the cafe. But the miners may resent Rafe for not doing anything against the mine takeover by the Earth Republic, and the people in the cafe haven't seen her in a while. Christie operates on emotion, as far as I can see, a lot of her actions aren't well thought through. She is not opposed to yelling, and making a public scene and what not. If she operates on emotion, and she is in an unhappy marriage/situation its more likely she takes her child and runs when she gets too upset. If she has support in the town, that makes it easier for her to run. I don't think Stahma or Datak have any intention of having Christie do that, but the fact that she acts on emotion makes her a liability, and it becomes a real threat that she would take their grandchild and run. I think Deidre, given her sad past is more likely to be more loyal to the family, because I think she will be so grateful to have any family.
  12. Do they use flair? I would love for the winner of project runway to design a "special" piece of flair for the Red Robin uniform....too funny. I wish they would just let them design the uniform, although they were probably scared everyone would be wearing drop crotch pants. Yes, you fucking can. Which is great, because I curse like a fucking sailor ;) Yeah, I know I expect a lot for a one day challenge, which is why they should always give them more time, especially for the unconventional materials challenge. I will say that I was surprised the looks were as good as they were for one day, but why bring down the quality of things on the runway by only giving them a day. The show had plenty of drama when they gave them two days for a challenge.
  13. LMAO! This is one of the funniest things I've read all week, good for you. People should not be rewarded for giving Toyota their business after they made that commercial.
  14. I think that even Tim may realize he can't go that far yet without seeming like a giant hypocrite. I'm not sure how many more times "bullying" is going to come up, this may be the first episode in our after school special. I wonder if Shandaya wasn't "encouraged" by production to go to Tim to "talk to him" about being bullied, so that Tim could show he is soooo not okay with bullying. Its times like these when I miss MK the most. No one made an anatomy joke like MK. Now that he doesn't have PR, I wonder where he drops all of his anatomy jokes now, cocktail parties? class reunions? maybe a blog of some sort?
  15. She used the comedy K for her dress line??? WTF! I thought she spelled it on the show, I thought she spelled it Classiq! on the show. I always knew I added the exclamation point, but the exclamation point just felt so right. I don't even know what to say. I mean why? I guess when you think the fabric that is going to flatter most women is lycra, you probably think Klass6 is a classy name for your clothing line. Oh one of those dresses is $115. They seriously look like something you could pick up at a strip mall/Styles for Less for like $25. But don't worry, you can pick up a dress on sale for $70. How long has she had this dress line that shit is already on sale?? The dress Karlie Redd was wearing is almost $70 and it doesn't even come with that gold chain! that website is a gem, a true gem. She has Sheree beat in every way. Because everything about that website says "I think this is classy" and "I don't have a lot of money for a graphic web designer" from the font she used for "Klass6" to the booty poses, to the models. I sincerely suggest everyone visit that website just for the snark value.
  16. I don't know how the town feels about Christie. Her father in law was the one who brought in the much hated Earth Republic, so she may not be the most beloved person in the town. And I'm not sure how much the town really looks down on prostitution where the former mayor is running the town whore house. I think it will be the other way around, with Christie threatening to take her baby and make a run for it whenever she is unhappy or feeling hurt. Christie seems to operate more on impulse, reaction, and emotion not on reasoned, calculated thought. The baby gives Christy leverage as far as I can tell. And I don't think Stahma is really the sort to make threat after threat. In fact, I don't know how many times I've actually heard Stahma make a threat. She seems more a woman of action. Well, she sort of threatened Datak when she found out about her maids murder. I think Stahma would enjoy dealing with an easily manipulated Christy, but Christy is starting to show she won't be easily manipulated. And she is willing to be loud about things. You think no one saw that little scene in the Casti nightclub with Alak being disrespected, publicly, by his wife. I think thats a big no no in the Casti community, the perception and image is everything. And the more Christy shows that side of her, the less it seems like she can be easily controlled. And ultimately if the town likes Deidre less than Christy, it may make her more easy to control. After all, even the implied threat that she might be out of the Tarr's good graces may be enough to put Deidre in line, because she has no support system to fall back on.
  17. See, I don't necessarily think that Christie has thought through the fact that being Stahma requires having a Datak. I only think that she has seen that Stahma is the pinnacle of a powerful woman in this new culture she wants to be a part of. I don't think Alak was ever going to tell Christie about what he did or who he is or whatever, because that wasn't how their relationship was formed. They were just two bright eyed kids, who didn't think that their family drama would get in the way. Christie just happened to fall in love with the town DJ, who couldn't stand his father, and was resolved to be nothing like him. They are young, and sometimes young love isn't built for the complexities of life, like having to be the front for your fathers criminal empire, killing someone. I believe to some degree, maybe even subconsciously he is starting to see that a Casti woman would understand his family drama, even without being told, because she would have an understanding of the culture. There are complexities to his culture that he probably can't explain to Christie, because they aren't logical, they are just cultural. If an alien came down in a spaceship, and I tried to explain the concept of why only women wear dresses, and why both sexes have breasts but only women have to cover theirs up, the alien would probably be totally confused. But another human being would understand because they have grown up with that. I think Alak is slowly turning more into Datak, and being okay with cheating as a way of dealing with his marital stress is IMO the first step down the path of just being okay with cheating. His DJ'ing went from something he did and seemed to truly enjoy, to this business where you gotta play certain records at the top of the hour and mention that they can only be purchased from Tarr records, and I don't even think he is on the radio much anymore. These things both IMO seem like Datak things, and both seem perfectly acceptable in his culture. IMO, a lot of traditional sins get dropped in the Castian community if its a guy thats doing the deed. The Casti clergyman didn't really take offense to the fight tents, or gambling, he took offense to Stahma running them, so if a guy was running them it doesn't seem like it would have been a problem. thats so funny, I was thinking about the same thing. Not if Stahma would have Christie killed per se, but what would happen if Deidre got pregnant? I'm not sure if she is angling for that so soon, but it might be....
  18. Well, I'm not a fan of slut shaming women. I mean, people enjoy having sex, and if Phaedra enjoyed having sex, more power to her. She did this before she was married, and it sounds like a high school thing, no matter what it was. So slut shaming a girl for whatever she did in high school is meh...but it just would seem so hypocritical. As you've said there is plenty other things to take issue with, and Chuck could have, as you said, simply had an axe to grind.
  19. Were they in a huge house? They need it...between the two of them they are going to have 9 kids! They almost have enough kids to play a full court basketball game! I mean its all the same at this point, I'm almost rooting for kid #10 so there is just an even number.
  20. See, I don't think Stahma really likes Christie all that much. I think Stahma sees her as a necessary evil. I think Stahma wants to do what is best for her son, and she wants control of that grandchild. Control of the grandchild means controlling Christie. At least for now. I don't know that Deidre needs a powerful backing, to me, Alak is already getting tired of Christie, so she doesn't have to do much to exploit that situation and make it blow up. And be there to pick up the pieces. Deidre IMO, is much more a Stahma type than Christie, but its possible that Stahma may see someone just like her as a threat, and might see Christie as someone more easy to control. Except Christie is now showing herself to be someone that can't be controlled, and worse yet, she is doing things publicly, like disrespecting Alak in front of people, and loudly accusing him of being a criminal, which has to go against all sorts of Casti ways. I would imagine Stahma could see the potential pitfalls of having her son disrespected in public by his wife an inferior human no less in front of a crowd of Casti's. And this is just the start of Christie just doing what she wants. This is why I think her value will decrease after she gives birth to her child. There is a danger in someone like Christie, who doesn't think things through, but goes purely off of emotion. There is a chance she will want to just take her child and run off, especially as it becomes more clear that Alak becomes more like his father, and less interested in her. Christie didn't sign up to marry Datak Tarr, Jr, but slowly IMO thats who Alak is turning into. This may just make Christie want to run for the hills with her child, which I don't think either Stahma or Datak would allow. The child she is going to give birth to gives Christie some power, a lot of power, but it also makes her a liability, because she will have their only grandchild and the power to run off with him (I think it will be a grandson). I think Datak actually might appreciate a woman who came from nothing and through sheer force of will placed herself in a better position. It actually sounds a little like Datak's story. I think both he and Stahma can appreciate someone driven and motivated by trying to change their lives. Someone who started from the bottom and worked her way up, it sounds like Datak started out as a lowly street fighter. And better yet, someone who comes into their family with her eyes wide open. There doesn't need to be the subterfuge and tip-toeing around they have had to do with Christie. Now Viceroy Mercado may indeed be Christie's saving grace, that would make sense, but at the same time, both Rafe and Datak are going to be doing something that goes completely against the Earth Republic, so its hard to say how it will all fit. Christie's reasoning as to why she went to the club in the first place isn't all that important, IMO, its what Alak and Stahma and Datak will think of it. Casti's seem to be very much tied to traditions and respect and all of that, and if what Christie did is seen as being disrespectful, even to the Casti community at large I think her motivations don't really matter, but the perception of what she did does matter. And I'm also not entirely sure, that hanging out in a Casti nightclub has given Christie powerful insight into what its like to be a Casti woman, especially one of her elevated status. Its almost a little insulting to their culture to think you could understand it by putting on white makeup, a wig, and hanging out in a nightclub.
  21. My goodness, that is such a perfect name for it...the tyranny of the weak. I've never heard of a name put to it, but those types drive me absolutely bonkers. Yeah, the Mitchell Perry really should have gotten some more credit. Shandays IMO was mostly bad because it looked so untidy, but I think fashion sense is always personal. Yeah, the dress was dowdy, and I don't know, I would have even thought maybe a muslin with black duct tape over it would have worked...but I talk about this like I could make any of these garments, much less in such a limited time frame, I just wish he could have pulled it off as a coat instead of a dress because I think it would have been really something special. Thanks...I get a case of the social anxiety!
  22. I think she wants to be Stahma. She complains of being looked at as an ugly human at home, but there is Stahma, beautiful, Casti, treasured in her own community, powerful in her own quiet way. While Christie cooks food she thinks is gross, Stahma is out making power moves. If by "princess" you mean "wife" I think you hit the nail on the head. And DJ seems very scrappy, and determined to do whatever it takes to get whatever she wants. Empowered how? By the baby she is carrying? She has no other real allies but her father. Once she gives birth I think she is totally expendable unless she figures out another plan. Alak had been faithful because he had been trying to not be like his father, whom he despised. I think after killing someone, and what he has gone through with his family, he seems to be more and more accepting of the fact that he may be, in some ways, like his father. And some of those Casti traditions he thought were stupid, are the ones he now wants to hold on to.....like sleeping with women who you are not married to. Now the Viceroy may be her protection and her "plan B" when things start getting rough at home, or when the custody battle starts. But I sort of hope not, I would think true empowerment would come from her seeing her problem and formulating a plan, not just being lucky enough to sit next to the Viceroy in a club while he is engaged in a little Casti RuPaul Drag Race audition. Christie is an idiot. Not only does this girl say that she wants a man to treat her like a princess, the way Alak treats Christie, she then says she is going to marry a rich man! And then you are mysteriously caught at a club doing something that would upset Alak, unless Alak was told you would be there, how did he run straight into you? I don't think Christie has what it takes to be Stahma. I think Deidre does. Christie doesn't really know how to be sneaky, she left the Casti jewel lying around, she left face makeup on. Either her conscience is making her do stupid things in the hope that she gets caught, or she is just stupid. I don't think Stahma would have embarrassed Datak in public like that by refusing to go home, I think Stahma would have found a way to smooth things over on the way home, but I don't think Stahma would have made a scene, unless it was absolutely planned.
  23. Caleb didn't go to west point. Just so we're all clear, I don't need to read the bio, but unless he has visited west point, or visited another school called west point, he did not attend the US Military Academy
