Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)
RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
So then, by all accounts Porsha has one friend. This is one friend I personally don't remember seeing. Your family is your family, and you get stuck with who you get stuck with. So I don't necessarily blame people for their family not liking them. A perfectly reasonable person can have a fucked up family, and so I wouldn't say "well, your entire fucked up family doesn't like you, you're probably an awful person." And based on the type of man her father seems to be, I'm not going to blame Kenya for him not liking her, anymore than I would blame Kenya because her mother abandoned her. I've never seen Kenya's family appear as though they can't tolerate her. I've seen their concern for her, and I think thats touching. Porsha's mother, who is an enabler should be more concerned for her daughter, who is, by all accounts, a moron. I don't see how Kenya was disloyal to Brandon, but he was her friend, so she does have friends. She at least has as many as we've seen Porsha have. And I have no reason to think that Miss Lawrence isn't her friend, although I guess you know him better than I do? And have we seen any of Phaedra's friends? Oh, we saw her study group, but were those her friends? We saw all the people she invites to her over the top shindigs, but if those are her friends, than so are the women that attended Kenya's function. Kenya started in on Phaedra because of a business deal. I don't think Kenya's actions in Mexico were motivated by anything other than getting the truth out on national TV. I don't think she has any great affinity for Apollo. Unless you're thinking of another time she and Apollo had drinks after he beat Brandon up? And this show is all about women who are friends, and then not friends. All of them turn on each other. Well, we just have to agree to disagree. I've met women in pageant circles, most are very socially savvy, much to the shock of others. And these are women who even succeed on a much smaller scale, so to make it to Miss USA had to take some social skills. Her family life with her mother and father is nothing I can blame her for, they both sound like awful people. Her aunts and cousins seem to love her, and I don't think love means enabling, or always pasting on a smile. I think its more real to be a little put off when a camera crew is in your face. I think the fact that her aunt gives her real loving and caring advice, and will be there for her in a heartbeat shows how much she cares....truly cares, not just enabling and putting on a show for the camera (ie - Porsha's mom), or like Porsha's sister who also just seems to be jockeying for camera time. Kenya's family seems more real, she and her cousin going shopping isn't her cousin cutting up so she can get on screen like Porsha's sister, its just more quiet, more real. -
I agree with your entire post, but mostly the first point about Tim having the farthest to fall and how much it really stank to watch it. And I'm pretty loyal to people overall, so if there is someone I like I will miss a lot of the cracks that others picked up on in other seasons. I didn't like his blatant favortism towards Helen and Michelle in their season, because I didn't like either of them...at all. But so much of the other parts of Tim made up for that. But UTG was just nothing but bad. And its hard because for me, it takes a lot to dislike someone I liked, but once I dislike someone it takes a whole bunch for me to like them again. And because of Tim's refusal to accept any responsibility for his behavior on UTG I just feel like everything he does now isn't genuine, and he is just desperately trying to get back his image. I also think that Asha was going to win if it weren't for Heidi. I know Heidi is the executive producer for Project Runway, which I think gives her more pull, and I wonder if she wasn't EP for Under the Gunn as well, which would have given her more pull than the absolutely useless judges. (Gee Mondo and Anya, why don't you choose a winner?, Gee Anya, who do you want sent home?)

ha ha - I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one laughing at these people's ridiculousness! Thats why I love this forum :) Weren't those tattoos the worst though? I was like "listen, I'm sure you're a lovely man, but I'm going to need for you to always cover yourself, like always" I feel like Mimi has been on something ever since that radio interview she did with Stevie J and she was just acting weird. I'm going to try to find the interview, it was odd. Whisper remix!!!! LMAO. She is trying so hard to get on this show, I can just tell. She is constantly starting fights, in the middle of fights, throwing a drink in a fight or trying to convince us she is really into Benzino. LMAO @ $89.00 I'm dying! There just must not be many men up in Atlanta, because I only remember one Young Joc song.....it was a good song, but it was like from 10 years ago! I know right? I just know someone talked her out of going to the bridal salon in something sequined and midriff...... why does she like dressing like a hoochie figure skater? -

First and foremost. Thank you for that video, I watched the whole thing, and it made me smile. They just don't make 'em like Biggie anymore Thats what I'm saying. Maybe its a cousin. Maybe one who was the victim of inbreeding..... -
Agree with all that, when did Slim suddenly get a backbone? Over some cups? Whatever. Loren or Blu could have used every single one of Slim's cups and thrown them in her face and demanded she buy more and she wouldn't have done shit. Suddenly she is upset that she only has three cups? Whatever. I lost a lot of respect for her, because I had assumed she was not fighting so she could stay above the fray, now I see that the bitch was just wanting to fit in! Britt is so fucking whack and weak. Whatever....Dalilia "stepped" to you......bitch, if thats your definition of "stepping" to you than Jada has stepped to you all day every day, and you didn't do shit, but yell. "Take one more step, take one more step" bitch if you're a bad girl you don't need to issue an invitation to fight! And it wasn't even a fight because she clearly wasn't going to fight you! And the girl never even took a step towards her! I haven't been a big fan of Jada, but my respect for her increased a lot tonight. When she said something like "being strong isn't in fighting but in letting it go" I thought that was real wisdom, because its true. Jada has been put down a lot in the house, and it would make all the sense in the world for her to try to gang up on the new girl so she could finally be a part of the group, like Slim did. But she didn't, and that was cool. And when she said she wished Britt had at least fought her, someone who she had "beef" with I thought that was real too.

Bad Girls Club Redemption: Season 13

Ugh, I just can't with the life coach. I love the idea of a BGC, because I've always thought All-Star Battle didn't allow the girls to drink enough during the day so there wasn't enough drama. Too many bad girls trying to strategize, and not enough fighting over ratchet men, women, or who is allowed in the VIP. Who is really extra? Who is allowed in the VIP? Is the limo big enough for a fight? Who is real? Why are you a real bitch, but no one else is? Why are replacements better and/or worse? These are the questions I need bad girls to ponder, not who am I going to pick for my team and who am I going to put up from the other team and what dress am I going to wear for Ray J at elimination. -
They all have the plastic bag accessories. 99 cents only, Dollar General, Dollar Tree. Actually, any of those places would have made a more logical choice than Red Robin for a sponsorship. In a few years when we have the Dollar Tree accessory wall all the models will be wearing discontinued flip flops and earrings with missing plastic pieces. and don't even trip, because if PR wants to go all the way there, 99 cents only store can also sponsor the makeup. We can see how much handlebar is smiling after that!

Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)
RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
You really think? I would imagine that to navigate to the top of the pageant world takes some social skills and finesse. I imagine women in the pageant circuit know when and how to turn on their social skills and when/how to turn them off. I don't know when she started pageants, but I know the women I know of who basically started doing them later in life to get college money were very intelligent, and very socially adept. I also think Miss Lawrence is her friend, unless there is something I don't know. And Brandon, say what you will, he protected her even though he was just her friend/assistant. Have we ever seen any of Porsha's friends? I wouldn't assume just because we haven't seen them that they simply don't exist. And Porsha, to me, seems like the polar opposite of Kenya. I mean we saw a group with her when she met that golf pro, but they didn't really seem like Porsha's friends since none of them seemed to be talking to her one on one. -
Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)
RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
You can go after someone without having to outright lie about them. If you want to offer an opinion, thats fine. You wanna say Kenya has a fake booty, fine, thats is more along the lines of opinion and puffery to me. But telling people that someone has offered your husband sex, when you know it not to be true is another thing altogether. And then to try to dictate rules so the person you're accusing can't get the truth out is low down and dirty. Kenya shouldn't be in a situation where she isn't allowed to get the truth out, and you're allowed to lie about her all over Atlanta just because you have a shitty marriage and you're upset. And I think Phaedra's actions show that she knew damn well Kenya didn't offer Apollo sex, and went around saying it anyways. I think Kenya is sharp, and I do think her antics are for show. And I thank her for them because the show would be boring without someone pot stirring. I think Kenya does play a role, she is a pot stirrer and she causes antics, but there is a difference between that, and outright lying about someone. And Phaedra wasn't going all over Atlanta lying about Kenya just on camera either, she was doing it apparently when they weren't filming, which makes it, IMO way more personal that what Kenya does for show. I agree with this 100% -- I think those scenes with her father were real. And I think its the one time Kenya "got got" by production. I think her father is a sore spot for her, and it doesn't seem like he visits often (read - he only visits when he is going to get a Bravo payday and gets to be on TV). I think production told her father to lay it on real thick and because he likely barely gives two fucks about Kenya decided to act out on TV. Kenya's pain over her mother seems real. I've always maintained that 85-90% of Kenya is for show, and those are part of the 10-15% of the time when she is being real. I also think some of her observations, whether for show or not are just dead on. When Natalie (Christopher's wife) said something about how she dances for him in private, and they cut to Kenya's TH and she was like "my question was 'where does she tuck it?'" I was dying, because I thought Natalie looked like a man too!) Sad thing to me about Kenya though, she is so appreciative of her family that part of me thinks that even if she knew her father was visiting her just to get on TV and get paid, she still would have welcomed him. -

She can't possibly want those slippers back, he probably has sex with them every night. Sometimes you just gotta take a loss for the greater good. She could keep insisting on getting those slippers back and Caleb would take it as a sign that she wants him to hand deliver them to her.....in her bedroom.....while she is sleeping. -

Will Kenya get an apology? (S7 spoiler)
RealityGal replied to badbolocolo's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
But I think there is a difference between trash talking and outright lying. I think what Phaedra was doing was outright lying, and trying to set up a bunch of rules so she could continue to lie and save face. But I also don't buy for even a nanosecond that Phaedra believed anything Apollo said to her about Kenya offering him sex and him turning her down. He made his views on marital fidelity clear at pillowtalk, and Phaedra didn't seem shocked or scandalized IIRC, so she knew that he didn't think fidelity was all that important in a marriage. And so, if you don't place much emphasis on being faithful to your spouse in a marriage, and you're a guy who is attracted to strippers, and a former Miss USA comes along who is attractive, it shouldn't be a mental leap to realize that if she is in any way going to offer him sex, the only way those two people aren't having sex is if she turns him down. So I think Phaedra knew full well that she was lying about Kenya, not proffering an opinion, not just stirring the pot, not just shit talking, but outright lying about a woman offering her husband sex so that she could maintain her "image" of having a great marriage. Or even a marriage where her husband is remotely interested in her. Oh see, I take 85-90% of kenya as pot stirring and putting on a show. She is normally so over the top that I can't take her antics seriously. But I've had friends that we used to call "habitual line steppers" (TM Dave Chapelle) and I never took anything they said seriously unless they were very, very clear that they were being serious because most of the time they were saying shit just to be saying shit. -

Season 10 Final Four - Lenny, Luca, Sarah & Nicole
RealityGal replied to cooksdelight's topic in Food Network Star
Thats not a very rootin' tootin' way to treat a trusty cowpoke! Yes, the crazy eyes. But I think what tipped it for me was the sexy talk he was giving to that corn in the pot. He sexed up that corn for sure, I know I felt uncomfortable watching him trying to seduce that corn. You know, there has been much talk of the beer, and if she only took a few sips or if she was drinking a lot. I think it could have definately been editing, but it seemed like she had a beer in her hand taking a swig in a lot of the shots. She wasn't even really tasting her food with her "friends" came over, she was still with the beer. It was like anytime she could take a swig, she was a swigging. But sadly I feel the same way about Nicole, I don't even know what it is about her. But I know I'm not FN's target demographic, so the people who are may feel all the warmth she is trying to put out there. -
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta - General Discussion
RealityGal replied to David T. Cole's topic in Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta
This episode.... 1. Mimi - I know I'm an awful person, but why do I get the impression that Mimi is pimping her dad's death for sympathy and indignation? And to get people to not focus on the fact that she released a porn. Damn it Mimi, just own it already! The whisper conversation between her and Deb annoyed me....all those dramatic pauses. I'm so jaded, I wonder if the tears were even real.....I would just find it hard to cry with 20 cameras in my face. 2. Joc - why is he mad at Karlie? Isn't he cheating on her? I'm so confused. And I don't care what she did, calling a woman out for having "pimento cottage cheese" is just an asshole move, and its fucking gross...grow up Joc. 3. Joc's "girlfriend?" - Why does his girlfriend look so simple? Its like her eyes have nothing behind them, she is either a serial killer or she has the mind of a 5 year old. I don't think she is fat, she is just guilty of what they all are guilty of....wearing clothes that are entirely too tight or cut wrong for their body shape. Come on ladies, at some point you have to give up shopping at Forever 21, and you gotta take yourself down to the Macy's or Nordstrom, or even Marshalls/TJ Maxx. 4. No Momma Dee, Erica's dress line isn't hot...its Classiq! 5. But seriously....how ridiculously bad are Erica's dresses, she didn't even look good in that red dress she had on and she has a great figure! They look exactly like she designed each and every one. 6. Tony and Kalenna's new house - yeah, I'm happy that you got a huge house, is it enough for Tony's other 7 children to move in? 7. Scrappy's face at Momma Dee's singing - priceless, I still hate Scrappy, but the look on his face was funny. His Momma is such a character, I hope she gets her Vespa. 8. Benzino - is stupid as fuck if he doesn't get a pre-nup. If he marries this broad without one, he deserves whatever he gets. Although Im not sure that Hip Hop Weekly is exactly the media empire she thinks it is. And who the hell gets someone's entire body tattoo'd to them? And who encouraged him to take of his shirt? 9. Althea - please tell me they are not trying to add her as a regular for next season. I can tell she is angling for it hard, but ugh. And by the way sweetie, I'm gonna need you to do about a million more crunches before you decide to parade around in something bare midriff. 9b. Althea's performance - more snarkworthy than anything Karlie Redd has ever done, it beats "Prada, Gucci" by just a hair. The lyrics were priceless, and her live singing was just wrong. And that outfit was even more wrong. 10. is Mimi going to actually admit she made a porn next week???? 11. Someone actually married Nikko? A woman? A woman blessed with the gift of sight? -
You know, I would think they could play around with the show concept if they needed to. In fact, they were playing around with Nicole's on the spot...with Suzie giving her the side eye about not knowing anything about global coastal cuisine. I think Nicole's concept, if tinkered with, might be interesting. I don't know a lot about cooking fish, or which fish to use for certain things. I pretty much just go for tilapia or shrimp, but there are so many fish that have different textures/flavors and it would be super cool to understand that. Especially if she could focus on how to cook the seafood and some of the techniques, but thats just coming from me, because I refuse to eat shrimp until I know how to effectively get rid of all the shrimp poop, which is all I can think about now when I look at shrimp. Luca's could also be interesting, because it could be part introduction to certain Italian restaurants that are awesome, and part cooking, especially with grandma's tips. I know I was excited last season to see a donut stand that used fresh strawberries close to my area (I haven't been there yet, but its only because I haven't had time to stop) and I'm interested in Italian food that isn't the typical Italian food. When I go to an Italian place, I generally stick with what I know because I don't want to get burned, but if I knew a little better what other, less popular dishes were like I might feel a little more adventurous. I think generally Italian cooking that most Americans are familiar with comes from one region, and doesn't have a ton of variety. And then I guess he shows you how to make a dish that reminds him of the dish he just ate in the restaurant, and hopefully its one thats a little easier. Although I was unclear as to whether or not he was going to make a dish that reminded him of the dish he ate in the restaurant, or a dish to complement the one he just ate. The first makes sense, the second does not, IMO. But yeah, I think it would be cool if he featured a cool Italian place and a less popular, but delicious dish and then made a similar but easier dish at home. I like the idea of pirate pete! But if he is going to be a real pirate, a la Lenny as a real cowboy, he is definately going to need a peg leg, a shoulder bird and an eyepatch.....preferably in multiple colors. Hey, its a TV show, I certainly don't mind shallow. Nicole is a pretty girl! Having considered the corn video and his crazy eyes, I think its a matter of time before Lenny tries to have sex some food on camera. And boy, food network would be regretting having him around. The fart jokes were awful, who does that? why would you ever mention farting on a show about food? Sarah was the worst, especially when her face would squish up and you could see the double chins coming out. My first smile of the day was the one I had watching Sarah get the boot.

RealityGal replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Project Runway
Oh...okay. His was very beautiful. I can't remember were they given any constraints in terms of what unconventional materials they could use? I still feel like Sean's may have been a bit more of a challenge given the time and material constraints. But Justin's was beautiful, and with such a wonderful story. It is the one thing I can say about the Tim Gunn save....he used it well to save Justin. -
I just find myself confused about Lenny's concept. If I want country food, wouldn't I just go to a steakhouse that specializes in that sort of thing? It seems presumptuous to assume that every fine dining establishment wants to be "countrified" by a guy wearing a neckerchief. Nicole's could be good, but I think it should be more broad, I think she should just talk about fish and seafood. Maybe making certain dishes healthier by incorporating fish, or even how to use frozen seafood for some of her dishes. FN is not a huge network, so whatever show they choose has to appeal to a wide audience, and a lot of the audience won't have access to super fresh fish/seafood. For someone like me, I'm a total beginner so tips on how to prepare fish/seafood would be great for me. For example, with shrimp, I have no idea what the difference is in what you choose frozen, and I also didn't realize that devined shrimp still had shrimp poop on it! Gross! I stopped eating shrimp altogether after that for a while. I too, think Luca is cute so he has my vote.

I feel like Mike Meyers Sprockets character might be based on him. But I really like him. I find him amusing, when he was like "well, I had to create clothes because no one was making clothes for me" and they cut away to a sketch of a striped unitard I was dying. Oh Fade, with his little moves and his tinted glasses, too cute...

I don't ever remember them stripping immunity (and you're right, many a times it has seemed as though they really wanted to) but I do vaguely (my memory is not what it used to be) remember them saving two designers that were on the bottom because they really wanted to see what each would bring the following week. Although that was either preceded by someone eliminating themselves (a la Sandro) or by a double elimination the following week. -
Oh my goodness, I'm dying at Lenny losing his accent! I guess its hard to keep up that "rootin tootin" accent when you get flustered eh? How did no one question him on that? And yes those are the same jeans he ripped! How did he bring 17 belt buckles, 30 neckerchiefs and only one pair of jeans to this thing? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Just an interesting note: Luca's 30 second presentation: Giada's smile = 10 Suzie's smile = 9.5 Bob's smile = 7 Lenny's 30 second presentation: Giada's smile = 6.5 - 7 Suzie's smile = 0 Bob's smile = 5
