  1. Was the girl, Haley, shown about 9 minutes in who said something about vegetables being hard for her because she was color blind on another show? I wasn't even looking up when she first started speaking and I turned because her voice was so familiar. Anyone recall her from one of the KBC or maybe Chopped Junior seasons? (I'm watching as I was typing this and she DOES make it to day 2 and is in the first group to go cook, which sort of makes me up my suspicion I am remembering her from another show and she's just grown up since then which is why I can't place her from whatever she seems to be familiar to me from...) I'm curious if they did anything like this 'bootcamp' in the past or not. It sure should help weed out having a kid that is in WAY over their head compared to the others. Not that it can't still happen, but knowing they have some degree of knife skills, ability to cook some meats and veggies to specification, and a sort of 'mystery box' is probably a good 'test' after they do the earlier screening rounds, etc. ETA: Found her! It was driving me nuts. She won a Chopped Junior episode http://www.journalgazette.net/food/Junior-chef-helps-out-15142571 and http://archive.courierpress.com/columnists/keeping-up-with-chopped-junior-winner-haley-mattes-366e39f8-212e-18d1-e053-0100007f5c85-384917581.html and then went on to compete to make it the Chopped Junior Championship Grand Finale round. https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/chopped-junior-final-four-compete-for-spot-in-grand-finale-w488706/
  2. And I feel like we saw her, at least in talking heads, if not directly to other wives, being beyond ticked off at Jeana for being friends and/or defending Donn for any reason both during their marriage and after the divorce (and I believe she also got mad on Tamra's behalf when she was friendly with Simon after their divorce as well). I actually feel like with someone (and Jeana is the only one who really makes sense) she may have even used the 'you're supposed to be on my side' phrasing even? I've been rewatching old seasons and am only a day or two away from being back at the V/D divorce storylines so I guess I'll see to be sure.
  3. The new wife married to the Mormon Persian guy reminds me of the female they added to MDLLA last season. Tracy maybe was her name? And I'm about as interested in this new wife as I was that other gal on MDLLA. Which is not a good statement!
  4. Definitely were both at Surf & Sand so it's possible. I've always thought it interesting and a bit odd that they seem so agreeable to filming. Really, the chain (such as it is) as a whole does, yet it runs so opposite what it feels like at any of them. Because we also saw Alexis and Jim at the RB Inn at least two different seasons also, right? (Once w/ the kids and once without I think). And they are related properties. And as you said, Meghan at Surf and Sand (actually I think they were there more than once also, as well as a lunch with her and Heather there, too, I think) plus of course LB, thought that makes a ton of sense since that's where S&S actually is. PSA For anyone who's coming to the area and looking for a nice place to stay on the water, Surf and Sand really is great! And always crazy quiet in my experience - though I can imagine during prom season that may not be the case!
  5. Tamra said something on WWHL about it apparently being common with guys into intense /professional cycling (or something along those lines - forget her exact phrasing) and that it may be a possibility.
  6. From the gossip mags, but Jim Bellino was apparently seen kissing a woman repeatedly in Vegas. http://celebrityinsider.org/former-rhoc-star-alexis-bellinos-ex-caught-kissing-a-mystery-woman-amid-his-threats-to-sue-tamra-and-shannon-167666/ As the above states - and others do as well - Jim apparently admits he was there and with friends, but didn't address the time seen kissing the other lady. And a bunch of sites are reporting that Jim & Alexis bought a house in Dana Point just prior to filing divorce. https://pagesix.com/2018/07/10/ex-rhoc-star-alexis-bellino-and-husband-bought-4m-mansion-before-divorce/
  7. Somehow I guess I multitask so much that every episode I missed seeing where Cindy and Troy/Lucy lived and had it in my head they were on the other coast (or were they one episode visiting family w/ a sunroom porch type thing maybe? and so I just never paid much attention). But it always seemed weird because their house looks so much like one I used to live near and it's pretty typical of my particular area. Last week I finally realized they were in SoCal b/c I happened to see where Cindy was driving and know the road and so watched for the next 'intro' where it confirmed it. But then last night I realized I regularly eat at that place they ended the show in (where they had their first date). It's such a random spot so was SO weird! And I can't believe they let them film there. Now I feel like I need to rewatch and see where that atrocious first makeover happened because it was somewhere extremely local to me. Ha. It'll be interesting to see if they ever follow up with these couples/families down the road.
  8. Because I suspect what they didn't air would have included the lady in the office saying some variation of, "...but if you go to the office over ____ and pay ____ you'll get special approval for not having the original." I've spent a good deal of time in Morocco, have dealt with some paperwork issues there for another issue, and have many long term expat friends who have jumped through the hoops that sometimes feel endless for residency, starting businesses, etc. It's sort of just how things tend to go. One office says "Nope not good enough. But..." and you get the run around until you land at some place where they make you pay for whatever "permit" will excuse whatever obstacle (that often seems basically manufactured) and then sort of 'tada' now you're all good because they got some extra $ out of you. That sort of thing, however, would be problematic to air. (Plus wouldn't allow for the 'obstacle' that they want for the storyline IMO b/c as many others pointed out, if it were actually a matter of the original that could easily be solved by someone coming bringing it with. So either it's another document entirely that she really would have to get herself, meaning a new/different document and 'original' had nothing to do with it, or this is either manufactured for the storyline or else they're avoiding airing what may well have been said and we'll see a miraculous "fix" that likely includes what I've seen w/ the $ bit.)
  9. Yup. Listen to the police scanner (via Broadcastify or such) in a large CA city of your choosing (SD, LA, SF) especially on a weekend or summer night. Dozens of times a night in my city near one of those mentioned above there are fight or DV related calls where it's all admitted weed use and no alcohol use by those involved. Regardless of the generalizations about it typically mellowing people out, that doesn't mean there aren't many who don't have that same reaction and who just get angry and into prone to fight moods that are usually more expected with other substances instead of weed. It's really eye-opening if you haven't ever listened to a scanner before and/or don't have cause to listen like I do...
  10. I thought she was even when she was doing the Bachelor live show things they did (maybe it was really after Bachelor in Paradise one season) and she seems to genuinely love and follow that show/whole franchise! I'm West Coast so I've not seen this, but I can only imagine how much worse she'd be when it's not something she really even follows/cares about.
  11. By the end of the first episode when we "met" the dad (was that two prior to this one?) I was wondering if we were going to end up seeing not the kids together, but Dr Ro and the dad. Watching that scene (and Ariel seeing through the window) does make me wonder if that may be the direction that whole storyline that began with Max is really going to go. Kind of coming full circle and Leanne ending the season (and the show, unless the save Code Black efforts work) with happiness after how she basically came into Season 1 being introduced maybe?
  12. Which I'm very sure is the real reason her father had been saying M can't live with Nicole when/if he came to the US.
  13. Yeah. She was promoting a LLR by Nicole group prior to the previous season airing in the fall.
  14. I think the 4 years is pretty legit. The first season forum here when they were on originally opened the summer of 2014 so their original season was airing just about 4 years ago now. And obviously it was filmed probably 6-12 months earlier (with some variations between particular couples) before that. So figuring this trip back to see her family was filmed sometime last year, it probably was actually about 4 years give or take a few months. It shows just how much dinking around doing basically nothing that she's done with this supposed "career" she thinks she has - and shows how long Russ has now been floundering as well.
  15. Just skimming comments there were a lot of questions about if he was and if so what he was doing, etc. or saying he looked better - heck at least as many about that as the truck, if not more about the apparent weight loss! I happened to see Kristina replied to one, so he definitely must be making some effort at least! Hopefully he keeps it up!
  16. This is such a silly little thing, but... My DVR was acting up and only recorded about the first 30 minutes of the show and then I couldn't restart it to go back and look once I got that far, but during the meal at Jen and Larry's, didn't J/L (at least) have largely full plates still when talking/panning to them, and Mack at least have a plate (didn't catch if it looked like she'd eaten at all) but then there be NO plate in front of Ryan when they zoomed out at the end of the scene? It struck me odd and then bugged me that I couldn't go back to see if he really was just sitting there petting the dog and not eating while the other three all were eating together.
  17. From a local media source to Ryan: It's phrased so awkwardly that it can read multiple different ways, in my opinion, but figured it was worth posting anyway since presumably they actually got confirmation of that March 12 date from somewhere legit since that's the first that date has come up,anyway that I've seen, which makes me think they're running with it because they have jail record proof from being local. http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/37833876/local-dad-on-mtvs-teen-mom-og-arrested-for-probation-violation
  18. Not sure if I can link to it, so I'll just say google "ryan edwards falling asleep" (don't actually put it in quotes) and it pops right up (it was shown last season) Then he was a hot mess again at the wedding this season as well.
  19. Yes. She announced in November she was expecting a little boy. (She's also now on RHOA for those who are unfamiliar and curious to see her there also) ETA she must be due almost any time since she said she was 7 months pregnant in mid-January http://www.eonline.com/news/907594/eva-marcille-talks-baby-shower-and-wedding-plans-for-2018
  20. She'll be the lone Brown/Brown kid/Brown affiliated kid/ Brown-to-be-in-law with an upper level degree thus far, right? (With Logan currently enrolled and Mariah saying she's planning on it, but who knows with her...) Logan also posted recently about her passing the exams to finish her Masters in Criminal Justice.
  21. Mariah and Logan both graduated last year - same weekend and time basically because there had been chatter in advance with people wondering what Kody and the other wives would do.
  22. It used to be something you'd see in some Jewish customs if a widow was left not just alone but also without children as otherwise she had no claim to her husband's estate and basically no means of supporting herself. It's typically called a Levirate marriage. (You can read more here if you're interested https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/levirate-marriage-and-halitzah) and pertained to the tradition of the wife not having anyway to carry on her husband's name basically, unless she were to have a son as genetically close as possible to her deceased husband. There's actually even a Hallmark movie from about a decade ago on the topic called Loving Leah. It actually plays into the whole story of the book of Ruth in the Old Testament because Naomi tells her daughters-in-law to leave because it's not like she still has sons in her womb who they could marry, which would leave Ruth and Orpah basically in dire straits (some references here, for instance - just a snippet quoted here the broader context is in the link http://www.womenintheancientworld.com/ruth, naomi and levirite marriage.htm) While levirate marriage is not really practiced today, in Orthodox Jewish traditions it seems most still feel that the 'halitzah/chalitzah' ceremony releasing the obligation to marry should be performed. Doing some googling on levirate marriage and the FLDS / polygamy (which yes, is different than this situation since Moroni Morrison's wives had children, but still sort of 'loosely' along the same lines in their culture in seems, since they feel the wives sort of need a 'covering') it seems like some polygamous folks still draw on that principle as a thread in their justification since in while it wasn't preferred historically in Judaism an already married brother could take his brother's window in levirate marriage if that was the only option.
  23. No that was when Cate went back in January it seems. And I can't believe I'm going to WK for any of these goofballs, but SM is actually a GREAT resource with travel issues and you can almost always get a faster response than waiting in what often are hour plus long lines when there are major issues at airports or lots of cancelled flights, etc. It's actually become incredibly common and they are very quick to help most of the time. Well...not some of the super crappy airlines, but the majors usually are (typically being polite and specific in your inquiry they'll ask you to follow so they can DM and help specifically)
  24. Trying to pull off what Anna Wintour does (apparently she was the only person allowed to keep them on during fashion shows at Perth Fashion Week) basically is probably what she'd claim! But really, for whatever reason, many celebs seem to do it in the front row at NYFW (if you google NYFW front row wearing sunglasses there are gobs of pictures) but like you, I've always thought it looks weird even if they claim it keeps them from having their reactions to things seen, etc.
  25. Exactly what made me go back and pause! I knew I had seen TV and thought maybe the other two caps were BS and so was VERY curious since I knew she'd not said that! I think that's probably accurate. Clearly they aren't followed nearly non-stop and asked as many in the moment type segments, etc. when they're casting like they are for the show, so I could see someone (esp if they haven't followed this series or similar ones prior) really thinking it's far less intrusive than it is and sort of panicking and shutting down. Still sucks when that gets taken out on someone else, but I can certainly see it happening.
