  1. I think it did a good job of showing D repeatedly emphasizing things along the lines of "it's just you and me, Gypsy" and "it's just the two of us" showing how she was trying to basically seclude Gypsy from 'outsiders' (anyone outside of the dyad of the two of them) While it obviously could be fictionalized, I suspect things along those lines did happen. After all, trying to repeatedly send that message to her from such a young age sure conveyed her attempts to keep Gypsy relying on her/thinking of her as her only "person" and the person she wanted he to turn to/rely on/trust, laying the ground work for the alienation that really was a foundation of how she pulled everything off. In doing so I think it really helped keep Gypsy from speaking up earlier in her life.
  2. They sort of address this on their FB post from earlier today. (Long but kind of interesting read)
  3. I think the issue is where they go from here if they do continue. The entire series basically was leading up to will Jazz get her surgery and when, and that's been answered. So now what is enough to carry the story further? Based on some surveys I've done over the last season or two of the show, it appears somewhere within the TLC ranks they knew there were increasing issues with the likability (or lack thereof) with some of the family, and they were trying to manage that. Last season they course corrected some and started focusing less on the immediate family (other than Jazz and other than needed mostly with the pre-surgery steps) and started adding back in more of the grandparents and especially more of the friend group (particularly Noelle). Naturally this season ended up need more immediate family involvement given the big storyline of Jazz finally getting her surgery and all that entailed, plus Grandpa Jack's whole health thing, but how do they continue to move forward and decrease extended emphasis on the family (esp Jeanette) if Jazz's life no longer revolves around the non-stop surgery story? With much of what they do so segregated from their "real" lives (moreso than many other shows) even with a lot of filming not even truly local, it'll end up being mostly created storylines (not that many of these shows aren't, but...) and the friend group will likely be disbanding/changing/morphing as the girls all go their separate directions when they finish school. Plus Greg seems to be increasingly resistant to a lot of the "real" stuff being filmed (which I don't blame him, and I actually think is wise...but just not "good TV"). So then what? More fake friend groups like we saw with I Am Cait? More made for TV events like the Jazz Hands "Day Camp" thing yesterday? A repeat of the Jazz wants to move out thing? Another not entirely legit seeming and very awkward relationship plot? I don't think any of that will carry the show moving forward, especially not ratings wise. This season I think they had viewer because people wanted to see the surgery storyline play out, but are enough of them likable enough to watch them just float around for an hour episode a week? Unlikely, I suspect. If they end on this relative "high" and people leave feeling a little more positively about things, then give the show a break for awhile, let Jazz (especially) grow up some more off camera, see how things end up shaking out for them all a bit more in reality and in private, I think it gives TLC the chance to maybe bring things back at some point. Possibly periodic updates as have been suggested, but maybe also then at some point another season or two - or mini season or two - if there are legitimate things that would help carry a show. But I think continuing forward as is at this point would actually just sour people even more and then in the long run pretty much kill it, if that makes sense?
  4. Besides for the fact that he's totally nuts since the video originated with his wife, the Lumberton PD has been very tied up with a kidnapped child, now turned murdered child investigation... https://www.citizen-times.com/story/news/local/2018/11/28/authorities-id-body-hania-aguilar-teen-kidnapped-lumberton/2143367002/ They're going to be underwhelmed with his attempts at tying them up with playing internet detective on anonymous people regarding something situation wise that his wife caused. This season's cast is really nuts - and also way too wrapped up in their social media presence and they keep causing themselves trouble on (or because of) social media and then blaming everyone but themselves! Leida and Eric have done it (w/ Tasha primarily) Fernanda and Jonathan now w/ the x-rated content Ashley and Jay vs. her friend Kalani vs. TLC production the first many episodes Colt / Larissa / Deb and the DV mess (and them blaming the public for calling PD)
  5. Did you see the article about what Storm had warrants on her for? Stealing from an adult bookstore. Fitting I suppose....lol. Franklin County doesn't want to be a Salinas or Gwinett I guess. Gonna help fill in the Greene County crazy quota until we get Craigmyle and Lor and Co back! (And anyone missing Lor's dapper face will like some fun pics on Craigmyle's twitter from their time out in AZ this weekend if you look at the past few days)
  6. As someone else said, Amy and Danny aren't Mormon. Josh and Aleksandra were also Mormons though and also met when he was on his mission. (They are the ones with a baby that there has been much discussion about). She is Russian but they met when he was serving his mission in Prague. She is not, however, the single mom from Russian you were asking about I don't think (that was Alla who had the older son) as Aleksandra didn't have the baby until after she and Josh were married. And Kalani is no longer Mormon. She left years ago.
  7. I'm on the west coast so I can't see if anything is said on the show, but she did post and suggest people donate.
  8. Sounds like it may have ended up being only one more. And per Craigmyle, the guy was caught! Also there's some cute video of Lor getting some much needed time relaxing and Craigmyle's two little pups giving both Lor and Craigmyle kisses in a video update on his twitter (not linking it just letting anyone who is interested know to pop onto his twitter from the above for that). He actually responds to a fair number of questions about calls, etc. in his replies (if you look at tweets and replies and not just his direct posts on twitter) which can be interesting sometimes. Thought his comment about Lor in reply to TMJ's post after the show was sweet, too.
  9. There's another of the live shows / guest interviews of some sort (Colt's mom Debbie is one who is supposed to be there and I thought I read Angela with an update on her relationship with Michael as possibly another). Not sure who else or who is hosting. That will be the third hour. I'm guessing they're not wanting to start some other show in that 3rd hour slot where Unexpected had been since it's a holiday weekend this weekend and then Thanksgiving about to impact TV viewing the next two weekends also since so many schools are closed all of Thanksgiving week now, meaning more traveling both before and after than used to happen so this makes for an easy "fill in" of TV time with little TLC effort production wise.
  10. Can't remember which thread it was in but there had been a rumor from other stars that Eileen and her family lost their home. Turns out she's found out that while the yard burned the house itself was saved (assuming the Santa Ana winds picking up again don't turn the fire back around / spark things in her area back up)
  11. Camille has posted her home is one of the many that fell victim to the fire in Malibu.
  12. And if you live in/near a city with a Daiso (Japanese dollar store equivalent pretty much, though is a 1.50 store in the US) they typically have them also (for 1.50 each obviously). They're a slightly different range of sizes there than my Eagle Creek ones - and a brighter color - but hey, now I have double plus the amount since I paid a fraction of the price for my Daiso ones and I love having a complete mix of sizes since some of the Daiso ones are better for some things and my 'regular' ones better for others, etc.
  13. Thinking we'll (thankfully) not likely ever have him 'gracing' the screens of our TV via Live PD again since the most charges of the most recent arrest include: Add in the other charges (and the other victim mentioned) and whatever other charges he had prior likely not helping out things, and the egregious nature of the most recent incidents, I doubt he'll be out any time soon. Just as a case update on him as of last month, at least, he's not even been assigned a public defender on this case yet because they're so backed up (there are even murder cases they need public defenders to take in Greene Co) https://www.news-leader.com/story/news/crime/2018/09/14/public-defenders-springfield-say-child-sex-abuse-suspect-must-wait/1302216002/ Though the Greene County Jail does show that he currently has a court date on Wed (Halloween) so there may be an update this week.
  14. Just FYI for everyone who missed it, she was raised Mormon but left it a number of years ago. Not that it didn't (and to some extent probably still does) play into some choices she made/makes, but...just to add this in for context/background. (And based on things on the show the first two episodes, I'm guessing she's not the only one in her family who did leave the LDS church)
  15. I figure this can go here since there's not a media thread or anything. Cute pics of the kids (all 9) dressed up in their Halloween costumes. https://people.com/tv/sweet-home-sextuplets-halloween-costume/
  16. Production - who wanted them to do it to tie into the upcoming China trip I suspect. Then they can probably reference something from the box and/or bring something home and specifically mention them again.
  17. The thing that gave me the feeling that they've been doing this with some regularity, or at least more than just that first time we saw on camera, was that Jolie seemed super enthusiastic to greet the gal when they arrived (missed her name/title if they gave it). It felt like some degree of genuine warmth/familiarity that went beyond maybe a few hours on just one previous visit in my mind. Like you, I hope they're doing it besides on camera, but heck, even if it's on camera, it's still more than we've seen most any of the others take the initiative to do, and Jolie seems genuinely impacted by it and seems to have a real tender heart, which is encouraging that regardless of why/how it started, that it's something that'll probably continue. I agree with the others who commented on Kelly trying to learn about wherever they travel on the shows. It's rare and actually nice to see her take that initiative. Surprising to see that wasn't a one off thing on just the first trip, but now we've seen it happen at some point on all of them.
  18. It's similar to little May who still manages to the same age for multiple seasons now when that doesn't fit the timeline we know from filming being possible. Mysteriously she also doesn't seem to age in appearance so it's not like she's just being 'held back' age wise by TLC...but it's odd. It is crazy how "messy" they are...wasn't it Chantal who aged backward between two seasons also? I do wonder, though, if they reshot some of the car bit later and thought about getting them all dressed in the same clothes from the other scenes but no one thought about Jon's hair then being "off"?
  19. It'd be easy enough to look up for someone who is LA County to find out. My searching made it appear there may be a legal marriage, but without searching in person -or paying - (and I'm not in LA) I'm not positive.
  20. Yeah, their pastor, Carlos, even specified it was a reminder of the covenant that they made before God. In one of the articles I saw about the wedding last week Cristina mentioned the girls becoming her best friends as a result of the show and wanting them in the wedding, it was interesting to me that despite what the pictures had seemed to try to convey in the articles, etc. that while she did have the girls stand up for her, Angel had two other guys plus one of her brothers. It makes me hopeful that they really did have the freedom to choose whomever they wanted. This really was a sweet wedding episode and so much better done than the many other televised weddings on other networks! While the first season is still my favorite because it was much more 'raw' I really do enjoy this show and am going to be sad if it doesn't come back as seems may be the case, especially since I'd love to see how they all continue to progress with Rachel wanting to move out, Elena's family moving in a few months and her remaining here, etc.
  21. I'm guessing besides for just , like you said, selling her a bill of goods with all the promises about the house, that there was probably an inference that if McKayla didn't go along with it that their relationship couldn't grow/be repaired/something along those lines, and that McKayla probably (whether it was said directly or not) knew or feared that exactly what Shannon seemed to do in response as far as "it's done" with everyone would happen. She's finally just established some degree of relationship with her mom now being (in theory) sober I'd imagine on some level she was probably fearful of losing that and/or feeling like if something went on with her mom that if she spiraled she'd feel some degree of responsibility - NOT that she would be responsible, but I imagine as a 17 year old it'd be easy to feel that way. I was wondering if Tim didn't want McKayla to call herself / without them because he was afraid Shannon would try to guilt her into changing her mind? The hurt in McKayla's eyes when she realized it was all about her money made me so sad for her.
  22. I was rewatching the early seasons the week before the show came back on and the growth in Elena and Rachel in particular, just amazes me. Hearing her so confidently say today that if her mom and dad wanted to live together in Japan or Australia that she's ok with that because she's ok with a group home and that "I'm happy with MY life. I'm full with MY dreams!" is just incredible! Her mom has said online she's moving early next year, so it'll be interesting to see if they really decide to go without her and how it goes, etc. (Assuming the show continues to film obviously) Similarly for Rachel, when she was in the house talking about she couldn't have been able to do this before but was so sure she was ready now was such a change. Whereas earlier so many little things overwhelmed her, to see her so confident she'd be fine on her own is just awesome! Seeing the growth of all of them has really been remarkable, but it seems most notable in Elena and Rachel, and this episode really highlighted such growth in both of them all over again.
  23. It's rich coming from the DM, but still had to think that it must sting for Luann to know they are now basically characterizing that way also: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6059509/LuAnn-Lesseps-reveals-relapsed-watermelon-martinis-ros-six-pack-beer.html
