  1. The fact that she even went to Stefani with that is reason enough to get rid of her. It shows a lack of professional common sense. There was something very fishy about Cree's little visit to Cat. Either it was filmed in a different order than the way they showed it to us, or it was a producer-driven event. Otherwise it makes no sense for her to go knocking on Cat's door for help. Also, Hannah Beth's bitchy little "you can be great at drawing but have no style" was so unnecessary and inappropriate. Classic mean girl behavior, snarking like that, halfway under her breath, knowing that her little crew would back her up. Nobody has thrown her (perceived) weaknesses in her face like that.
  2. That was so funny. I didn't see hatred on Diane's face so much as "did you really just say something that stupid?" That blonde girl was going on about her Mom as if the woman was on the brink of death. What did she say? Something about she's running out of years with her? And she never even realized she'd said that to a woman who is damn near 70 and still going strong. Stupid stupid blonde girl. (There are still too many of them for me to remember her name.) The back and forth between her and Diane was painful to watch. "Tell me about yourself" "What do you want to know?" "What do you want me to know about you?" "I don't know. What do you want to know? Can't you just ask me some questions?" You could just see Diane mentally check that girl off the list. Cree, Cree, Cree. Did she not know that selling is a huge part of the job? I think she left for both reasons. She knew she wasn't a good fit, and because of that, there was no way she'd win this thing. Cat gave her some good advice. Too bad Cree was unwilling to take any of it in. All she heard was "the girls don't like you" and then she was too busy feeling her feelings to hear anything else. Cat, for all her bragging and self-promotion, is far more savvy than most of those girls. They would do well to stay on friendly terms with her. She could be very useful. Some of these girls just do not get that this is an extended job interview for DVF. It's not about what a special snowflake you are. First and foremost, it's about whether you understand the brand, whether you can sell the brand, and what you can do for the company. Beyond that, it's about whether you are pretty enough and likable enough and smart enough for them to give you the job. It's not about whether you've dreamed about this job your whole life, or making your mother proud, or how you like to heal people and live in light. Whatever the hell that means. But I blame the DVF team for bringing people like Cree in. Part of the interview process should be to glean the candidates understanding of the the DVF brand. And whether they are smart enough to know they need to look the part. On a side note, does last year's winner lose her position when then choose someone this year? Are they replacing the brand ambassador or adding a second one?
  3. K&J can be as angry as they want to be but I don't blame anyone for quitting training camp because they realized it's not what they thought it would be. Yes, even though training camp has been on tv for over a decade. Even then. There are a lot of experiences in life you think will be a certain way because of what you've seen and what you've heard, and they turn out to be different when you experience them first hand for yourself. As far as I am concerned, training camp is an extended job interview, and just like any other job interview, it is a two way street. The DCC organization figures out if each dancer has what it takes to work for them. But it is equally the candidate's opportunity to explore the situation and decide if the DCC attitude, lifestyle, and requirements are a good fit for her situation. There is nothing wrong with giving the experience an honest try and then deciding against it. It is a huge commitment and if you realize during TC summer that you don't want to do it, yes you should leave. That just improves the chances for the girls who are left. Actually, I think it takes a lot of confidence and courage to leave, given the amount of pressure they are under as the message is drilled into them every minute what an honor it is to be there, how lucky they are to have been chosen, how they should invest every bit of their time, talent and energy into making the team, and how they will be treated like pariahs if they leave. I doubt leaving is an easy decision.
  4. I called her bitch in reference to the Hitch Bitch t-shirt she wore all last season. I thought that made it fair game. No offense intended.
  5. Can I just say that I think that Kelli (not sure if Judy is also doing) dressed way better on her own before this Belk sponsorship? Not liking at all. Kelli tends to look very stiff and uncomfortable in her Belk frocks. Probably because she's all spanxed up.
  6. I twas really interesting in the episode where Mikey said he was a changed man and reintroduced himself to Bello, Bello introduced himself as BAY-yo. Not Bay-jo, not Bay-zho, or any of the other pronunciations we've heard on the show. Has he pronounced it differently other times? Because I can't figure out why Tyra and everyone else is fancying up his name?
  7. From what I can tell, he was already working out in that area and the cheerleaders danced right into that space. He moved the poms, he didn't toss them aside with disgusted body language. I did not see anything disrespectful. Yes, it would've been nice if he'd moved out of the way, but the football players are the big dogs in that situation. When they're gearing up for the game the cheerleaders are probably not even a blip on their radar.
  8. A few random observations: I thought it was nice that Candice tried to match designers with style profiles that fit. She didn't try to sabotage anyone. She was going to try to beat them with everyone on an even playing field. I'm surprised there was no mention here, or on the show, about the bling on Swapnil's dress. Where did that come from? Was it a necklace of some sort, or did it come from mood? Thanks to the invention of Spanx, Edmond's dress could be worn by sizes 2-12, I think. (On a side note, why does no one ever admit that spanx are a nothing more than an updated girdle?) It bothered me that Ashley still pronounces Merline's name mar-LYNN. That is disrespectful. Merline isn't a difficult name to say. I didn't get the whole "two piece jumpsuit" thing with Kelly. If the top and bottom are separate, it isn't a jumpsuit. Or is that a new thing that if the top and bottom are made of the exact same material/pattern, it is still considered a jumpsuit? Even if there a miles of skin showing between the two.
  9. Well it kind of IS a nature show, isn't it? Isn't that sort of the point? Find some girls who don't know how to act in polite society, and who have an overblown sense of their own importance, cage them up in a house with limited access to the rest of the world an their own lives and watch them go all Lord of the Flies. It makes perfect sense to me that the crew is willing to risk the house (just short of burning it down) and the cast (just short of hospitalization), but not themselves.
  10. I really really need to know if DaniMo made it. Are they still in loooooove? And what about Hitch and his [snip]? I really want them to go back to season one too. What about the Colombian shoe designer who married the guy in - was it in OK? And the loser mormon guy who was going to do his damnedest to knock up his wife and tier her down before she realized she could do soooo much better than him and took off to NYC to be a model?
  11. Seriously, how can anyone be dumb enough to be on this show? And why do I love it so much?
  12. Things I found interesting: Jela, Shannon, and Shannade somehow convincing the driver to take off without the other girls. Even though surely he saw the other girls come out of the house. Why didn't he stop? Jela, Shannon, and Shannade immediately flipping into victim mode, and completely forgetting they had done anything to provoke the other girls. And Jela not mentioning that part of the situation at all when she was on the phone. At least not that we saw. They didn't show any of the destruction happening. Why? They've done so (gleefully) many times in the past. Didn't Jela brag early on in the season about how all of her stuff was locked up? What happened? Even though "all" of their clothes were destroyed, all three of them still found other clothes to change into before tearing up the house. Jela attempting throw water up to the second floor to douse Laura, and the water not reaching her. That was just sad. The life coach's immediate response was to talk about how the issue affected HER? Really? It's about her? And those four dummies sat there and let her scold them like she's mommy. Why didn't any of them refuse to write the letter?
  13. I agree with that 100%. I believe that while not every Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader is beautiful to everybody, they are each beautiful to somebody. Even Ally Traylor. Girls like Abigail Klein, who just about everyone agrees was absolutely beautiful, are few and far between. I doubt there's been anyone since that everyone here would agree on. Although I think Caila might be headed in that direction.
  14. That depends on what you call a professional career. I suspect our definitions differ.
  15. The DCC love to participate in this kind of "beauty and brains" piece, as someone called it. There was also another one upthread about one of the girls being an entrepreneur in the area of fitness and health supplements. These "Look , it's a DCC with an actual career!" articles tend to exaggerate, but they are interesting because they are the exception. The DCC organization likes to promote the idea that the DCC are "well-rounded" when the very nature of this organization, particularly the schedule, is a significant disincentive to significant regular involvement in anything other than DCC. Women with children, 8 to 5 professional careers, or serious involvement in community, philanthropic, religious organizations, etc. are comparatively rare.
  16. The whole thing about Nyle's phone smells like typical reality show manipulation to make a mountain of of a molehill. Far be it for me to defend Devin because I can't stand him, and taking the phone was inconsiderate at minimum. However, I'd be curious to know how often Nyle speaks with his phone and how long Devin had it. If Nyle is constantly yammering away on that phone, and Devin took it for 20 minutes that's one thing. But if Nyle does it once in a while, and Devin had it for 2 minutes, that puts a whole different complexion on the situation. Moving on... someone upthread mentioned it being odd that Courtney spends all this time "modeling" with her selfies but doesn't know even the basics about fashion. I thought so too. But after thinking about it, I realized that the thing with the selfies is really not about wanting to be a model or be involved in the fashion industry. It's just about having rock bottom self esteem and wanting people to validate her and tell her that she's pretty. Courtney has no aspirations in fashion. She doesn't really even care about being a model. She's just there playing the odds that she might be able to win this thing without actually having to work at it or be good at it, and maybe at the end, Tyra will hand her the job on a silver platter. This is why I cannot like her. She sits around being weak and helpless, but I have yet to see her put one iota of actual effort into learning how to be a good model or winning the competition. I'm willing to bet that if she has seen a copy of Vogue since that day, it's because somebody put it in her hands, not because she actively went out to get a copy of it and educate herself.
  17. I think this is the worst uniform photo I've ever seen. You can't see her whole face, and the pose is horrible and unflattering. It makes her look thick waisted and that little bit of cheek hanging out of her shorts is not cute. If this is the best photo they could find of her, I'd hate to see what the other shots looked like. Did they show any of Victoria's shoot this season? I also wish they'd either kept the boots in their photos or cropped them a little higher, because some of them are cut off in a really awkward place.
  18. I don't think there was anything *wrong* with the way Loren interacted with Courtney and Simone, but she didn't have any of the warmth/friendliness/humor we saw with Jen Amburn.
  19. They get more like $150 a game, and they do NOT pay for uniforms, makeup or big trips. The DCC organization pays for the uniforms, but makeup, practice outfits, hair, tanning, gym memberships, etc are comped by sponsors and/or provided by the organization. The girls aren't out of pocket for any of that. They most they probably have to pay for is appropriate undergarments, pantyhose, curling irons/flat irons, tips at the salons, eyelashes, and that sort of thing. (Not to mention the gifts they're expected to give each other on game day.) Although I disagree with the above list, I do agree with the main point: this is not a budgetary issue. Just like any other business, I'm sure Kelli submits a budget for approval each year, well in advance of auditions. That budget is for the entire upcoming year, and provides for up to X number of cheerleaders for the season. They wouldn't go through auditions, trips to oxnard, and most of DCC training camp and then decide at the last minute that all of a sudden there wasn't enough money to go around. Not unless the organization was in serious financial distress, and there's been no indication of that.
  20. I don't buy that for one second. They've been bragging for DECADES about how many tours they've done. More than anyone including Bob Hope. In the past, they've done camps and autograph sessions in addition to the show group performance. And we also know how entrenched this organization is in their traditions. So the idea that they just decided "you know what? let's not do the show anymore" doesn't hold water. My guess is that the military tightened up security and/or applied restrictions that made it difficult to take the show on the road. Perhaps they reduced the amount of people or equipment they could bring. Maybe they decided that a big group of cheerleaders was too much of a high profile target. Maybe it's political correctness. With more and more women in the military it does seem like an anachronism to bring in a bunch of scantily clad 20 year olds to shake their thangs for a bunch of howling, hooting, salivating men. Maybe the USO wants to take their entertainment in a more family oriented direction. I'd believe almost anything over the DCC simply deciding they didn't want to do it anymore.
  21. Project Runway Juniors, of course! I can't wait! (Said no one, ever.) Because his were glued on upside down, which makes it unconventional genius! [/sarcasm] That CD sleeve skirt reminded me of the flaps on Korina's skirt for the American Girl challenge. Suffering through those commercials each week is the worst part of the PR experience. Who is looking for Rachel Zoe to be a personality? On her last show she was just an angsty drama queen every minute. Who wants more of that? The commercials are trying way too hard to make her and her entourage seem clever and fun and it just is not working. They're making me like her even less, and I didn't think that was possible. It was funny when Tim mentioned the "Danger Will Robinson" robot. You know Kelly had no idea what he was talking about.
  22. I've been wondering about a few things First, will Kelli or Judy excuse themselves from judging if/when Kelli's daughter Sam, Tina Kalina's daughter Victoria, and Shelly Bramhall's daughter Dayton audition for the DCC? None of them seemed to care when Cami auditioned, but other than being a legacy, I don't think she was connected to the organization. But Shelly works for the DCC and there's an obvious bias for Tina's kid. Victoria is a sophomore in high school, so it will be a couple of years for her, but Sam and Dayton will be eligible to audition in the spring. Although something tells me Sam doesn't really want to be a DCC. And I can't really see her in uniform. She looks very young. It seems like it would be difficult to glam her up. The DCC were pretty hot stuff in the 90s. It seems like a lot of squad members from those years would have daughters coming of age right about now. Second, do the veterans ever get fitted for new uniforms? It seems like it would be difficult to keep that one outfit bright white and new-looking for 3, 4, or 5 years of wear and perspiration, especially for someone in show group. I can't keep anything white stain-free for even a day, so I wonder how they keep the shorts and vest clean in general. Do they have to hand wash and steam them at home? Those uniforms are too valuable to drop off at any old dry cleaner, so I can't see that being allowed. Are those outfits made of some fancy material that repels stains? Although, upon further consideration, those shorts are so short no part of them touches the ground during jump splits and when they sit, maybe only their cheeks touch the chair. (ew.) Third, does anyone have stats on how the team has grown and shrunk over the years? I know 36 is the magic number, but how many years has it actually been exactly 36? And fourth, do the veterans have to attend all of those Monday through Friday rehearsals? That must be so boring for them, rehearsing and rehearsing dances they've already done a million times. I thought that the veterans at least should be able to have a regular 9 to 5 job, since they don't need all of those extra rehearsals and sessions during the day, but I wonder if they have to make themselves available all the time to assist struggling rookie candidates. I bet it's a big no-no to say you're busy if one of the new girls asks for help.
  23. Honestly, I kind of love it when that happens. Always amusing to see the look on K&J's faces when they realize the script has been flipped and they're the ones being rejected for a change. I think its good for them to get a dose of perspective once in a while.
  24. I liked the fact that Kelli made an effort to give some positives to each person before she cut them. I don't recall her doing that consistently in previous years. This season it's almost like she's taking inventory. These are your pluses, these are your minuses. Go work on the minuses and we'll see you next year. It will be interesting to see if people like Kat, Taylor, and Courtney, who really devoted themselves to preparing for a whole year, will have the heart to devote another entire year to this pursuit. And I can only imagine how frustrating it is for them to see girls like Lacey and Holly, fresh out of high school, sail right onto the squad. Also, it seemed a bit cold to have a uniformed security guy escort the girls in to get cut and then escort them out the door. Wasn't there anyone else available to do it? I really hate that the cameras get right up in the girl's face after she's cut. Have a little compassion. And another thing, in previous years, when a girl got cut, it seemed like she had to turn in everything, including the binder and the pink outfit. I remember thinking how cruel it was to literally take the clothes of her back before kicking her out. This year they just throw on their street clothes and walk out. When did that change?
