  1. One thing I realized after the finale is I don't miss Heidi and Tim. I very much enjoyed both of them on the show, but PR moved on without them and didn't skip a beat. Christian is great, and the other judges filled in Heidi's role seamlessly. Is Making the Cut still on? On instagram it looks like she's quite busy. https://www.instagram.com/mimi_tao/ PR used to be appointment tv for me, until the latter seasons when it seemed to be more about drama and personality, and the frequent one-day challenges and low budgets just resulted in uninteresting, glued-together messes. So I was pleased that this season seemed to be different - more creative, more time, more money. I have really enjoyed this season, and it was frustrating to get all the way to the end, only to find they were given 8 days. From what I noticed, the designers fell back to making garments similar to things they'd made prior to the season. Jessica Millin. She's great. https://www.instagram.com/thejessicamillin1111/ It reminded me of the plastic tablecloth in a pizza joint I like Laurence's work, but there's a fine line between having a signature and being kind of one-note. She's veering toward the latter for me.
  2. Maybe Elaine was trying to do a mashup of competing styles herself? Unrestrained vs controlled? Exuberant vs sophisticated? That's all I've got. Otherwise I can't think of any good reason for this. Whatever the concept was, the execution was not what it needed to be.
  3. MiMi couldn't do a thing with Prajjé's garment. That told me everything I needed to know.
  4. TCC Leah Roga was chosen for the 2023 Golden State Warriors Gold Squad, where Milan Brahney will be returning as a 3rd year veteran. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cv-Xvs-v6T-/?img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cv-O1xkJMLi/
  5. I remain unconvinced. The DCC have ALWAYS had cameras at their auditions. I need better proof than this.
  6. I went over to Reddit to look at this. The person who posted this graphic admitted to making it themself. In my opinion, they slapped the logo on it, in an attempt to make it look pseudo-official. They then wrote that they heard someone who "confirmed" it was "very likely." So in other words, they didn't confirm it at all. They took a hypothesis that had already been shared here and tried to "announce" it like breaking news. I don't spend time on the Reddit page so I don't know if this is just the culture there, but this seems like complete bull to me, posted by someone who just wanted to entertain themself by stirring people up. This "big announcement" is nothing but fluff.
  7. They did a training camp announcement. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ct2OZBbMljH/
  8. Last summer Ali Mattox was recruited into the WWE's program for developing new professional wrestling talent. She must have gotten cut or decided against it. It's an interesting resume item, sure to catch Kelli's eye. Story here: https://www.actionnews5.com/2022/10/13/wwe-college-athlete-recruiting-tour-makes-first-stop-ole-miss/.
  9. I don't know about Vanessa, but I am convinced that Malia went into it with the intention of doing it for only one year. She was recently married, was a Stanford grad, and had big ambitions for her career. She seemed like the type who was willing to take a year out of her life to cross DCC off her bucket list, and then move on to other goals. On another note, this video just came across my recommended. Kelli was a member of the show group performing at a telethon in 1987. It is literally the WORST DCC choreo I've ever seen, lol. It is so so bad, especially coming to america. They did several numbers, including a couple from "A Chorus Line" including the singing. Enjoy! In the thumbnail, Kelli is in the middle, standing with both poms up.
  10. Twins are kind of their thing, 5 sets in the past 15 years. It was a pretty long dry spell before Jen and Wendy came along. I'm sure it was a huge advantage for them in auditions. See the other four DCC twin trivia for the bored:
  11. They are auditioning for their second year with the Texans. The have a fan vote going on right now. I think it's the last day. https://www.houstontexans.com/cheerleaders/voting
  12. Kelsey Lowrance auditioned for Raiderettes and made it to semifinals. The lady in the dark blue is Brittany M., former mavs/ice angels and DCC finalist. The lady in the seafoam top is Jenifer, also former mavs and DCC finalist. Wouldn't surprise me if there are some other dallas girls in the mix too. https://www.instagram.com/p/CsT3Gv2LXxh/
  13. Do you mean Chelsea Chaney? I think she stopped dancing after DCC. She has a business with her sister, but I'm not sure what they do. She married in March 2021 and just had a baby girl last month. She seems happy. The Chelsea I was talking about was Chelsea Keifer. She was a DCC in 2005. Candice Estfan was a DCC 2004 and 2005. According to this wiki, both Candice and Chelsea were cut. Candice before the 2005 season ended, and Chelsea during 2006 DCC auditions. Candice went on to dance with the Mavs for the 2006 NBA season. I don't know if she was cut after that or retired. When DCC R&B started in 2009, Chelsea, Candice, and Teri were all on the inaugural squad. Candice is the blonde, Chelsea K is the brunette
  14. Allllll of this. Bridget's smile shines out through her eyes. She seems so very genuine, one of the ones who didn't get caught up in being a DCC 24/7. I'm gutted her IG is private because I would love to know what she is up to these days. I wonder if she is still in Arizona. Fun fact: two dancers who were DCC first and became R&B afterward are Candice Estfan and Chelsea Keifer. Both overlapped with Teri.
  15. The Vera Wang uniforms were introduced in 2003. Vera "updated" the design in 2013, but the changes weren't major. It also looks like they've tweaked the shorts in the last few years to raise the waistband. (I noticed with all the cheerleader lawsuits a few years back, came a trend to dial down the sexy a bit across the league.) The Eagles uniform (white bra top and white shorts) is incredibly ordinary looking. It is hard to believe that it's a "signature uniform," especially since they have gone almost 20 years with no branding on their outfits. I noticed the guys now have a logo on their costumes, but the women have no logos, no team name, no sparkle. This team is way overdue for something new.
  16. I noticed another change Alexandria has borrowed from the DCC. In the past the Pats have had a separate group of promo models/cheerleaders selected during an interview process alongside cheerleader auditions. This year Alexandria introduced the concept of the The Patriots' "alumni all star" cheerleaders. She chose four all stars, one of whom is her sister Victoria, a 3 year veteran and captain, who retired from the team this year. Two of the other all stars are also retired captains from the 2021 team. A lot of scorn and criticism has been expressed for Alexandria in this forum, and I've never agreed with it. I never felt one way or another about her, and I'm not ready to shred her for quitting the team when the only thing I know for certain is she put just as much blood, sweat, and tears into making the squad as everyone else, and there's no credible information on why she left.* Having said that, the optics on this are starting to look bad. While the DCC don't own the concept of a separate promo team, they are the only team that uses hand-selected alumni for this purpose. They are also the only team that has worn stars around their waists for 50+ years. Alexandria really needs to take care how much she borrows from the DCC. There's nothing wrong with learning best practices from other organizations, and taking inspiration from them, but when you do it over and over, it starts to look like copying. And when you are copying a team that frequently boasts about being imitated by lesser teams, it isn't a good look. Now my antennae are up and I'm keeping an eye on the Pats to see what other changes Victoria Alexandria implements and whether they are her own idea. *On a side note, it's funny to me that one of the rumors around Victoria is that she quit because the DCC are a bunch of mean girls. A couple of months ago a woman who was on the Pats team last year (while Victoria was on staff) posted a long Instagram post about how the Pats Cheerleaders are a bunch of mean girls too. Edited to fix the names. Thanks Stella. I don't think the DCC "own" the stars or the all-stars. Nobody does. Best practices are best practices for a reason. But the effect is cumulative. The more times you implement something that another team is already well known for, the more it affects your reputation and the respect for your program. For example, there would be a whole lot of side eye if the Pats cheerleaders started doing jump splits, or using Thunderstruck for pregame, or wearing red holiday costumes with stars around the waist.
  17. They get new uniforms every few years, so I don't think it will be an issue. Plus, I'm terrible at predicting things, but I don't see this unform lasting in it's current form for more than a year or two. It will go the way of the jets cheerleaders' ruffled underpants and the colts cheerleaders' horrible one-piece dresses. My immediate thought the first time I saw the new unis was "I don't love it." I couldn't put my finger on why. There was something I didn't care for with the jacket, and you've nailed it. It's the high collar. It looks so uncomfortable. It also looks like the jacket would be shifting around and flapping open while they dance. I gather they've designed it so it won't move, but it still bothers me. The other thing is, if you take away the jacket, this is extremely basic and boring. The stars on the waist are a little too on the nose for a former DCC. And finally, the men's uniform, the top especially is a no for me, dawg. This is the second men's costume they've had that looks like a figure skating outfit. The wonky collar and the mesh sleeve inserts are fussy and the crystals across the chest look like a heart shape. Why didn't the guys get a jacket over a red tank?
  18. Alexandria Walker (nee Stavrapoulos), now manager of the Patriots Cheerleaders, has redesigned the team's signature uniform. Read an article about it here. Alexandria 2021 uniform 2022 uniform
  19. The Cardinals announced their 2022 team and Taylor P wasn't chosen. I wasn't expecting that.
  20. No white on the shorts. Just something weird in that photo Yes :-) Molly Eagleton Darian and Devon Lassiter bookending the front row. (Below, Darian on the left and Devon on the right)
  21. It's from the Suns website. ETA: For funsies, team photo from that same year, with a familiar face. Or faces, rather. It's funny, one went Suns to Cardinals to DCC and the other went Suns to DCC to Cardinals.
