  1. Ran across a dancer wiki that has Sophy (real name Sophia) Laufer's competition history. There are also videos of her performances, most when she was very young, but the ones at the bottom are from 2019.
  2. Several of Alanna's Laker Girl teammates went to the wedding, and one of them posted a video of the Thunder performance. I wonder what it felt like to have spent three years dancing with Alanna, and then sat there while she made a big deal of performing with her DCC friends. Maybe the Laker Girls don't have this same kind of tradition, but I think I would have felt a twinge of sadness to have been excluded. I did notice that Kristin did at least one other dance at her wedding with some of her Ice Angel teammates. I thought that was very thoughtful.
  3. Yes, Emma. If memory serves, she is the one whose mother came here and had something to day say about the comments regarding her daughter's non-traditional looks. edit: because spelling is hard.
  4. Cierra was also on Sidekicks IIRC, and Megan was a Stars Ice Girl. Two other Stars Ice Girls auditioned, twins Jen and Wendy Mendoza. They are blonde now, but they weren't chosen. Of all of them, Kennedy is the only one I remember auditioning for DCC, and I think she only made it to prelims. This reminds me of that year a bunch of Dallas girls (Jaime, Jenny, Whitney, etc. auditioned for the Dolphins.) This year's Raiderette rookie class includes a Laker Girl, an Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader, a Rams Cheerleader, and a Charger Girl, and from the NBA, dancers from the Bulls, Lakers, Spurs, and Blazers. It's funny on the DCC show they always highlight women trying to come over from other teams. From what I have observed, this is quite common. Every team in the NFL attracts women coming from out of town and from other pro teams. Although perhaps it happens more often with DCC than other teams. Kennedy in 2019
  5. Anyone remember Lacey Wilcockson, former St. Louis Rams Cheerleader, and DCC finalist from 2017 and 2019? I think she was the one known for having buff arms. She was just chosen as a rookie for the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders. 7 years since her time on the Rams, she's still got it! Interesting fact, she is reuniting with Joi Smith who was a DCC finalist in 2016 and 2017.
  6. If the show is cancelled, so be it. All good things come to an end. This board will be closed, and that's a shame, but the show has gone stale for me. It has been many years since this was appointment television, and I tend to skip entire episodes. If there's no show, maybe they'll allow the media to cover auditions again, and the candidates themselves can post on social media to make it easier to follow along in real time. (Note: I did not say I expect any significant coverage on DCC social media. I keep my expectations realistic.) It would also mean less pressure during TCC. I think the shine of being on the show wore off long ago and it has become a deterrent for some who don't want to risk scrutiny, ridicule, and embarrassment on tv. And maybe there will be some relief on social media as well, with a reduction in people who feel like they are in the know and can say any old thing to or about these women. Maybe without the show, there will be an uptick in auditions. I know enough about DCC now. I would like to see CMT cover some other teams. I doubt they would, but if they did, they'd probably focus on the south, so Titans, Falcons, Jaguars, maybe even Texans. A million years ago, there were DVDs released for the making of the Dolphins, Bucs, and Chargers dance teams. I'd love to see something like that again.
  7. Thanks @ShellyB well that answers our questions. Legacy is only mother/daughter (maybe someday granddaughter) not sisters, cousins, in-laws, etc. So far, these 8, plus Jalyn are the only ones I've not seen in the pics and posts for calendar trip. Interestingly, Jalyn also seems to be the only one missing from this pic, unless I'm miscounting.
  8. Calling on @ShellyB if she still gets the bat signal from this place. I believe she said that the idea of an extended training camp was introduced during her tenure on the team in the 90s. I'd be curious to know how they explained this new way of doing things. Was it because it was truly so difficult to narrow down the talent, or were there other reasons? I'd also be curious to know if it was always 5 nights a week, all summer long, or if it started out shorter or fewer nights a week and grew from there.
  9. Congrats Dr. Bradley 🍾 https://www.instagram.com/p/CbQOgzSJhpTNIQTLoBC8xxRr9T_U6gZK1cxdz80/
  10. Sorry to double post, but also wanted to say I really enjoy Ashlee's latest videos on IG. She's giving the eyes, the attitude, that extra something, and she shines. To be honest, my first thought was why is this girl a cheerleader when she could be doing this somewhere else? Armani is also fun to watch next to her, but in a different way. Armani is "this is cute, this is fun, we're just messing around." Ashlee is taking it serious and my eyes just kept going back to her. And I find that with her hair in braids, without the distraction of her hair, it's like I'm seeing Ashlee's face for the first time and she's 3x prettier than I realized. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca-oFzVJWwG/ https://www.instagram.com/p/Cas4enwA0RE/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CaIM31wpbAH/
  11. McKenzie just announced her engagement to Casey Hughston. I think that makes nine engaged on this year's team. (In addition to Amber, Erin, Jensen, Kaydianna, Klein, Kristin, Rachel, and Taylor. Did I miss anyone?) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbAcmUzg9hT/
  12. I will be on the lookout for Crystal this year. She hit my radar a few years ago when she tagged herself a future DCC or something like that. She was in high school at the time and had done Camp DCC and seemed to be counting the minutes until she could audition for the team. She looked like this at age 17. I made a note to check back in a few years and see if she showed up in any audition pics. Once she turned 18 (in 2020) Crystal changed her look and joined the Hunnies dance team in North Carolina. The Hunnies are an independent dance team that is hired by local minor league teams to perform at games and events. (Hunnies bio here). Crystal graduated from high school in 2021, and went to DCC prep class and a couple of college prep classes. So far this year, she's mentioned prep class for Arizona pomline. I think she grew up as a studio girl, so she would definitely benefit from a few years on a college dance team. She hasn't posted anything about DCC this year, but given her focus for the past years, I bet she will audition. This is the only dance video I found. It's from the Hunnies youtube channel, but there are only a few videos and I think this is the only one she is in. (Admittedly I didn't look too hard, so there may be others.) It's hard to say how she'd do with DCC style, since the song they are dancing to is so slow it makes the whole team look low energy.
  13. It will never be the same to me without Holly Powell.
  14. Here's a better pic of it:
  15. I think they make everyone's rear end look wider than it is. Every single one of them. And if they're universally unflattering, then it's the shorts that are the problem.
  16. Both of things can be, and are, true. Makes me sad to see such naturally pretty girls do this. It takes away their unique beauty and in they end, they all look just like each other. Instagram face is boring.
  17. In looking through her instagram, it looks like she rarely wore her hair natural and then she cut it off right before DCC auditions. Maybe Covid made her old style too difficult to maintain, or her hair was damaged, or she just wanted to be natural. In looking through her IG just now, there was more glam/sexy/model/pageant stuff than I expected to see. All this time I've been seeing Armani as fun, energetic, and cute girl, but she's got some glamzilla in her too. I knew Kelli would change her hair, because it didn't have the kind of movement Kelli likes. But now I wonder if Armani's current hair style was a deliberate choice, not so much to find her best look, but to make her different from other AA women on the team. Like they decided since they already have Kat and Ashlee doing the long barrel curled sexy/glam and sophisticated thing, they would make Armani into the "sporty and cute" girl. ("A girl for every fan" and all that.) I know I didn't expect to see underboob. Or that tattoo. If she's been covering that with makeup this whole time, she's been doing a bang up job. Maybe that's something they teach you in pageants.
  18. I like Armani a lot. Cute look, very charismatic dancer. I do feel like they haven't quite nailed her look yet. I think darker hair was more flattering.
  19. Amber is one who perplexes me. I'm not good at spotting surgery, fillers, etc. but she looks very different these days. It's more than a filter. The transformation reminds me very much of Lacey's before and after. Pic on the left is December 2021, pic on the right is December 2019. Left is Jan 2022, right is Oct 2020
  20. Agreed. It is nutty to think the Broncos Cheerleaders would be at all interested in thumbing their noses at the DCC, let alone over stale DCC drama from a year and a half ago. The DBC aren't spending their time focused on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and Lily's cut is old old news. The DBC, like every other team in the league, have their own activities, accomplishments, and traditions that they are proud of in their own right. They give the PBC title to the dancer who is an outstanding representative of their squad, someone who earned it based on their performance, commitment, dedication, etc. It would make zero sense for the DBC to bestow one of their highest honors on a member of their team based on something that happened on some other team. Lily was never in the running, and never would have expected to be. There are too many other cheerleaders who have been there longer and proven themselves over time. Katherine Crowe, this year's rep, is a 6th year veteran and one of the two team captains, and she is far more deserving.
  21. Who will audition for the DCC this year? Discuss it here! The first DCC prep class of the season happened today.
