Overall, I thought it was OK. Some specific thoughts: Huh, Burnham didn't save the day at the end. Book FTW I am impressed how much emotion Doug Jones is able to project through all that latex -- what a fantastic physical actor Progress in the relationship between Saru and T'Rina, glad to see that If I were part of the Culber-Stamets family, there would have been a bit more touching at what might be the end of everything I wish they'd be a bit more subtle about the "we are family" vibe -- we're not Cro-Magnons, we get that they love and respect each other Boy, that language mapping algorithm got really good really fast, go Zora The ceiling is quite high back at the space station, why was everyone hunching over all the time, is that a reaction to stress? I was kind of hoping that next season would be kind of a mini-Voyager premise, with them spending the whole season getting back home, but discovering new stuff along the way, with all these civilians on board Besides the great quips, Reno's speech is so efficient: "We.ve got 10 minutes. He loves you. Do what you have to." Anyone else would have taken a couple minutes Book got off a lot lighter than he should have -- I suspect Grudge intervened Stacey Abrams, more power to you -- great when a superfan gets a cameo, and she was pretty good for an amateur Tarka was hoping the destruction of his ship would generate enough power for his transporter, and there's nothing on screen to say it didn't work -- I was kind of hoping the 10C would note that there was a brief interdimensional rift right at the end there, and Book could hope that his friend made it to his paradise after all I wish we'd gotten one more scene of that linguist eating something This felt a lot like a series finale, is next season confirmed yet? If so, had it been when this was filmed?

That's not really this, though. Seven is still her post-Borg, self here both mentally and emotionally. Even the Queen knows her. It's just the physical modifications that are missing, so the only potential effect would be people interacting with her being oblivious to her Borg past. And that would have happened in 2024 regardless of what she looked like. Still, she will experience prejudice-free social interactions, so that's something for her. If Stewart got tired and this show morphed into Star Trek: Seven of Nine, I would not be disappointed.

Man, 2024 is just lousy with 24th century Starfleet personnel. Maybe the Watcher was originally there to keep an eye on Sisko's time-travel incursion, so Q took advantage of the situation to make his change there and draw Picard back for the test. It would be cool if they CGI'd Sisko's team into a background shot or something.

I came here to say exactly the same thing. This is the first time I've ever watched a show (and I've watched a LOT) where, by 30 minutes in, I loved every character. This is gonna be great!

Forget it, "saving the day" is exclusively a Burnham activity. Reno should just count herself lucky she had a hand in kicking it off.

Agree with all of this. In fact 'drag queen" is the ONLY big brother show I would watch.
-
Were they saying that there would only be one torch bearer in NYC, and it would be Prince? Good thing they lost the games, because there is no way they could spin that narcissistic BS in any kind of positive way.

A lot happened in this episode. For a brief shining moment, Bic the headless android of snark became my favourite character. RIP Bic. And Sue, I liked her.

Maybe Sisko died before he would have gone back?

Agree with everything you said but especially the first part. I found myself really interested in the back and forth in developing and using the bridge language. OK I do NOT get this reference. Ha! I can see how Reno would be Grudge's favourite.

Is it possible this actually IS the "Yesterday's Enterprise" timeline? Might Q's comment have been, dare I say, meta-literal?

Yeah I think it's weird too. It may never air in the US if Netflix decides to drop it. If it's not a US show we should be able to talk about it openly when it airs in its home country. Anyway

The Walking Dead in the Media
Starchild replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
Hey now, it's at least as good as "Fear the Walking Dead" -
Oh for sure, and that's fine for those enjoying it. I would never say "the show should be cancelled" just because Queen Latifah isn't an Edward Woodward clone. It's just that the show is not what I was hoping it would be.

Did I miss the dad explaining why he couldn't hire help to keep his son out of an institution?

S11.E11: Rogue Element
Starchild replied to nodorothyparker's topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
I'm sensing that his eyes are only just beginning to open. I'm thinking Rosita found it in Davis' apartment and she passed it on to Connie. -
College aged, I think? Or just barely post-college? Not a teenager, no. Which made his few appearances even more palatable lol

Chuck has been losing almost every battle so far. They're knocking him down in advance of a big win I think. Wait is he a lawyer? I thought he was some kind of "fixer" for Chuck

Funny, I was thinking "do they have to do family stuff every episode?" In the original show, we saw McCall's kid once in a while, but generally the episodes would focus 100% on the case. I miss that.

I guess Adira is missing Grey's anatomy!

I'm just glad I finally know how "Lecy" is pronounced.

That conversation between Isaac and Hetty was unexpectedly moving. Isaac is my favourite ghost, and I'm pleased to see a slightly more complex characterization for him than might be typical for a show like this.

Can we keep this version of Jackie please? A voice of reason, but also suppressed trauma that feels real.

That's why I started watching "Kevin Can F*ck Himself." Such an innovative show that digs into this very concept. I really loved the first season, hope there's more.
